0:00:26 > 0:00:28First this morning, the new leader of Zimbabwe,

0:00:28 > 0:00:32Emmerson Mnangagwa, has urged the country to unite.

0:00:32 > 0:00:39In a speech to a cheering crowd he praised the army for removing

0:00:39 > 0:00:41controversial leader, President Robert Mugabe,

0:00:41 > 0:00:42peacefully earlier this week.

0:00:42 > 0:00:45He is the former vice president of the country and will officially

0:00:45 > 0:00:48take control tomorrow.

0:00:48 > 0:00:51And if you want to know more about what's happening in Zimababwe

0:00:51 > 0:00:56go to our guide online.

0:00:56 > 0:00:59Images of the Earth by night have revealed that artificial light,

0:00:59 > 0:01:01like that from street lights and houses is growing brighter

0:01:01 > 0:01:02and bigger every year.

0:01:02 > 0:01:04Scientists say that this light pollution could be

0:01:04 > 0:01:07bad news for our health and the lives of animals and plants

0:01:07 > 0:01:16as we need the darkness to rest and natural light to help us grow.

0:01:16 > 0:01:19Next, a huge sporting clash begins today when the best cricketers

0:01:19 > 0:01:21from England and Australia battle it out.

0:01:21 > 0:01:24They are all trying to win this very small but extremely important prize

0:01:24 > 0:01:26in a competition called The Ashes.

0:01:26 > 0:01:27Want to know more?

0:01:27 > 0:01:30Then watch this!

0:01:30 > 0:01:32What are the Ashes?

0:01:32 > 0:01:38Great question.

0:01:38 > 0:01:42The Ashes is England versus Australia and it is like 100 years

0:01:42 > 0:01:48ago they played, and Australia beat England and some Australian media

0:01:48 > 0:01:53said it was the death of English cricket and they took the bails that

0:01:53 > 0:01:57sit on the stumps and they burned them and they put the ashes in this

0:01:57 > 0:01:59tiny little urn, that is what you play for.

0:01:59 > 0:02:03Because of all the hype and the build-up and the old

0:02:03 > 0:02:06rivalry, to win against Australia, beat Australia, that's the best

0:02:06 > 0:02:16thing you can do as an England cricketer.

0:02:16 > 0:02:18Which England players are you watching out for?

0:02:18 > 0:02:20Joe Root, one of the best batsmen in the world right

0:02:20 > 0:02:22now, the captain, hoping he will do well.

0:02:22 > 0:02:25Alistair Cook was the England captain and he has played the most

0:02:25 > 0:02:28Test matches anyone's played for England and scored the most runs.

0:02:28 > 0:02:30Who are the Australian players to look out for?

0:02:30 > 0:02:32The Australians have two very good batsmen, David Warner

0:02:32 > 0:02:35and Steve Smith, the captain, they are the ones that England will want

0:02:35 > 0:02:36to get out the most.

0:02:36 > 0:02:38Who do you think will win?

0:02:38 > 0:02:39England, of course.

0:02:39 > 0:02:44Obviously.

0:02:44 > 0:02:46OK, time for a quick round-up of some of

0:02:46 > 0:02:47the Champions League action.

0:02:47 > 0:02:51This goal in the 89th minute by Swiss side Basel meant

0:02:51 > 0:02:55Manchester United didn't get the point they needed and instead

0:02:55 > 0:02:58have to wait longer to see if they can book their place

0:02:58 > 0:02:59in the next round.

0:02:59 > 0:03:03But with a 4-0 win against FK Qarabag in Azerbaijan,

0:03:03 > 0:03:06Chelsea have secured their place in the last 16 of the tournament.

0:03:06 > 0:03:10And even though Celtic were the first to score in their match

0:03:10 > 0:03:12against Paris St-Germain, the French side ended up

0:03:12 > 0:03:18thrashing them 7-1

0:03:18 > 0:03:21If you're a football fiction fan you might know this guy.

0:03:21 > 0:03:24He's the star of a series of books all about footie-mad

0:03:24 > 0:03:28character Jamie Johnson which have been made into a CBBC series.

0:03:28 > 0:03:31We'll be meeting author Dan Freedman in just a sec but first let's take

0:03:31 > 0:03:36a look at the show which features some real life football players.

0:03:43 > 0:03:47Make the goalkeeper believe you are going to smash it, then at the last

0:03:47 > 0:03:54minute, Inc it. -- dink.

0:04:03 > 0:04:05Hi, Dan, thanks for coming in.

0:04:05 > 0:04:07What has it been like, seeing your stories told

0:04:07 > 0:04:10on screen and having real footy starts involved?

0:04:10 > 0:04:13It is a dream. You sit down and write a book, maybe gets published,

0:04:13 > 0:04:18and then it becomes a TV show on the BBC put it on and kids over the

0:04:18 > 0:04:22country watch it, and that is what you hope one day might happen. And

0:04:22 > 0:04:27you have real footballers in the programme as well. How did it

0:04:27 > 0:04:30happen?I knew players through my previous career, and it's important,

0:04:30 > 0:04:35because it makes the show not only interesting and exciting, but

0:04:35 > 0:04:40realistic, so at the cartons -- becomes part of the football world.

0:04:40 > 0:04:44How have the fans of the books reacted to the TV show?Very good,

0:04:44 > 0:04:48and they understand that the TV show will not be the same as every book,

0:04:48 > 0:04:51but the TV show has the spirit of the books which is why it's

0:04:51 > 0:04:52important.

0:04:52 > 0:04:57So you've re-released the final book, why?

0:04:57 > 0:05:02So, Jamie Johnson doesn't win every game he plays. His life is not

0:05:02 > 0:05:05perfect and it ended on a cliffhanger, but kids were writing

0:05:05 > 0:05:10to me saying you cannot leave it like that and I said I would not

0:05:10 > 0:05:13leave it like that and I've rereleased it with a bit extra so

0:05:13 > 0:05:18they know what will happen. So the kids told you, and you made it

0:05:18 > 0:05:23happen. Power of the people. Will this be the final book?I think I

0:05:23 > 0:05:28will let it breathe for a while, and the TV can take the limelight.

0:05:28 > 0:05:31Hopefully there will be other Jamie Johnson books in the future if the

0:05:31 > 0:05:36bosses want them.I know you've met lots of players in the time, but who

0:05:36 > 0:05:47are your favourite players?Lionel Messi, Harry Winks and Cruyff, he

0:05:47 > 0:05:50created the modern Barcelona. And Harry Winks, young British player,

0:05:50 > 0:05:54who would be at home on the stage with Cruyff and Lionel Messi.Have

0:05:54 > 0:05:58you met any of them?I met Lionel Messi and asked it what it was like

0:05:58 > 0:06:03to be the best player on earth. What did he say? He said he wanted to get

0:06:03 > 0:06:09better and improve.Thank you so much. We are back later this

0:06:09 > 0:06:09afternoon and we
