:00:00. > :00:08.Hey, guys. Martin here. On today's show we have exciting new fossil

:00:09. > :00:10.finds, and a brand new way to play football. Stick around, cos this is

:00:11. > :00:20.Newsround. But first, to the peace talks aimed

:00:21. > :00:25.at bringing an end to Syria's brutal civil war that has raged for three

:00:26. > :00:28.years. The idea was to bring together Syria's government with the

:00:29. > :00:32.opposition forces who want them out of power. But so far, the talks in

:00:33. > :00:35.Switzerland have been troubled, with both sides making angry speeches,

:00:36. > :00:39.each side blaming the other for the conflict. Now, the Syrian government

:00:40. > :00:43.has threatened to quit the talks unless "serious" discussions begin

:00:44. > :00:46.by tomorrow. Next, it's known as the Jurassic

:00:47. > :00:48.Coast, and it's protected by the United Nations because its fossils

:00:49. > :00:54.provide an incredibly detailed record of millions of years of our

:00:55. > :00:57.planet's history. But after it was battered by the stormy weather over

:00:58. > :01:03.Christmas and New Year, it's revealed some very exciting new

:01:04. > :01:05.finds. Ayshah's got this one. The storms over Christmas and New

:01:06. > :01:11.Year damaged homes and businesses, attacking coastlines around the

:01:12. > :01:13.country. But here in Dorset, on the Jurassic Coast, the storms have

:01:14. > :01:16.revealed ancient treasures - fossils millions of years old, including

:01:17. > :01:18.whole skeletons of a prehistoric fish lizard known as an

:01:19. > :01:29.icthyosaurus. These are the bones of the

:01:30. > :01:32.icthyosaurus, similar to one the ones found in Dorset. Fossil hunters

:01:33. > :01:36.looking for new dinosaur bones are being warned to stay away because of

:01:37. > :01:45.the danger of mudslides and rocks falling. Britain and one sense

:01:46. > :01:50.because it has produced hundreds of these fossils like the one we found

:01:51. > :01:54.today. In turn, it has produced hundreds of fossil hunters coming

:01:55. > :02:00.here to look for these fossils. The message here is please come along,

:02:01. > :02:04.especially if you are young and eight first-time fossil hunter, take

:02:05. > :02:11.care of those fossils and of yourself. So how important are these

:02:12. > :02:16.new finds? You would be surprised at how common these fines are. People

:02:17. > :02:21.bring in small bones they found on the beach all the time, haps every

:02:22. > :02:27.40 or 50 years we find really spectacular. -- we find something

:02:28. > :02:30.really spectacular. If you're thinking of going hunting for

:02:31. > :02:34.fossils, it's worth remembering to always have an adult with you and to

:02:35. > :02:38.take care of areas that have been damaged by storms because the rocks

:02:39. > :02:41.could make it dangerous. It might be better to get a close-up look at

:02:42. > :02:44.amazing bones like these ones that have already been discovered.

:02:45. > :02:47.One of three possible replacements for NASA's Space Shuttles has been

:02:48. > :02:50.given its first launch date. November 2016 will be the first

:02:51. > :02:53.unmanned flight for what they call the Dream Chaser. It's much smaller

:02:54. > :02:56.than the huge shuttles that transported American astronauts into

:02:57. > :02:59.orbit and back again, but it could still carry seven people into space.

:03:00. > :03:03.Two other companies, Boeing and Space X, have also designed options

:03:04. > :03:07.for NASA. Tennis now. This morning in the

:03:08. > :03:09.battle of the giants, Rafael Nadal powered past Roger Federer to reach

:03:10. > :03:12.the Australian Open final. The Spaniard dominated from start to

:03:13. > :03:17.finish, beating Federer in three straight sets. Nadal, who is

:03:18. > :03:19.currently world number one, will face Stanislas Wawrinka in the final

:03:20. > :03:22.on Sunday. And for the first time in three

:03:23. > :03:26.miserable months, England's cricketers are celebrating a win

:03:27. > :03:29.over Australia! They set the Aussies a massive 317 runs to win in the

:03:30. > :03:35.fourth one-day international, and bowled them out for 259. All-rounder

:03:36. > :03:40.Ben Stokes was man of the match, with seventy runs and four wickets.

:03:41. > :03:48.But Australia still lead the five-match series 3-1.

:03:49. > :03:51.Next, we all know the plan in any footy match is to score the most

:03:52. > :03:55.goals, but when three teams are playing on the same pitch, at the

:03:56. > :04:00.same time, keeping a clean sheet becomes even more important. Check

:04:01. > :04:04.out three-sided football. Instead of two teams on a

:04:05. > :04:09.rectangular pitch, there are three teams on a hexagonal pitch. That

:04:10. > :04:18.means you form topical alliances, your enemy one-minute is your friend

:04:19. > :04:22.the next minute. Very chaotic scramble is with two teams

:04:23. > :04:25.converging on one goal. Last up, here's four words for your

:04:26. > :04:31.Friday afternoon - RAT INFESTED GHOST SHIP. It's the incredible

:04:32. > :04:35.story of an abandoned Russian cruise liner which has been drifting in the

:04:36. > :04:40.Atlantic Ocean since being cut loose almost a year ago. It's thought

:04:41. > :04:45.there may be thousands of diseased rats on board. But don't worry, the

:04:46. > :04:49.British coastguard says there's no sign of the vessel reaching our

:04:50. > :04:52.shores yet. Head to the website for more about this one, and don't

:04:53. > :04:56.forget you can always play our quiz of the week's news stories on there

:04:57. > :05:01.too! That's all we've got time for today.
