:00:00. > :00:09.Hi, I'm Leah with your morning headlines. Coming up...

:00:10. > :00:13.We bid a fond farewell to the Winter Olympics in Sochi as the most

:00:14. > :00:16.expensive Games in history comes to a close.

:00:17. > :00:25.And it's goals galore as Liverpool and Swansea serve up a thriller at

:00:26. > :00:29.Anfield. This is Newsround. But first to the Ukraine, where

:00:30. > :00:32.after months of protests and nearly a week of violence, a temporary

:00:33. > :00:35.President has been appointed. It comes after President Viktor

:00:36. > :00:38.Yanukovych was forced out of power. The stand-in leader says he wants to

:00:39. > :00:41.strengthen the country's relationship with Europe.

:00:42. > :00:48.Politicians are meeting today to start working on a new government.

:00:49. > :00:51.It's a big day in the world of tech as the world's mobile phone leaders

:00:52. > :00:54.get together to outdo each other with their latest designs at the

:00:55. > :00:58.Mobile World Congress in Barcelona today. Samsung are expected to show

:00:59. > :01:01.off the Galaxy S5, an upgrade to its flagship smartphone. And wearable

:01:02. > :01:07.tech is expecting to be big, with many companies set to show off new

:01:08. > :01:10.smartwatches at the show too. Last night we bid goodbye to the

:01:11. > :01:15.22nd Winter Olympics with a spectacular ceremony in Sochi.

:01:16. > :01:19.Russia topped the medal table but it was a good Games for Team GB, who

:01:20. > :01:22.passed the three-medal target set by UK Sport. Our athletes have been

:01:23. > :01:26.promised extra funding for the next four years because they did so well.

:01:27. > :01:30.So here's a look back at the icy highs and chilly lows of the past

:01:31. > :01:33.few weeks. Not since 1924 have Great Britain

:01:34. > :01:37.won four medals at a Winter Olympics, so as the ganes-mac were

:01:38. > :01:43.brought to a close, Team GB could reflect on a job well done. -- as

:01:44. > :01:46.the Games. Jenny Jones got the snowball rolling, with a bronze in

:01:47. > :01:51.the snowboard slopestlye, Britain's first ever medal on the slopes.

:01:52. > :01:54.Lizzy Yarnold then continued our fine tradition in the women's

:01:55. > :02:01.skeleton, keeping the gold medal firmly in British hands. And then

:02:02. > :02:04.the curlers had us all grabbing for our sweeping brushes, winning two

:02:05. > :02:08.medals in this ancient and absorbing game. UK Sport invested ?13.4

:02:09. > :02:14.million in funding to achieve their medal target at the Games, but they

:02:15. > :02:17.could have had even more. Elise Christie's three disqualifications

:02:18. > :02:21.in short track were hard to take. Highly-rated slopestyle skier James

:02:22. > :02:24.Woods was hit by a hip injury in training. And John Jackson's

:02:25. > :02:31.bobsleigh crew led briefly on a tense final afternoon in the Sochi

:02:32. > :02:34.sun. But not everyone was happy with the decision to hold the Games in

:02:35. > :02:37.Sochi. Some people protested about the lack of rights in Russia, and

:02:38. > :02:42.particularly the way the government there treats gay people. On the

:02:43. > :02:46.slopes though, things have gone well. There was enough snow, plenty

:02:47. > :02:50.of world records and some memories that will last a long time. And if

:02:51. > :02:53.you're missing the action already, don't worry, because the Paralympics

:02:54. > :02:56.starts in just under two weeks' time.

:02:57. > :02:59.But were you inspired by Sochi? Well, looking at your messages to us

:03:00. > :03:02.on the website, it looks like you definitely were.

:03:03. > :03:05.Cameron in Somerset was inspired by Lizzy Yarnold to take up skeleton

:03:06. > :03:10.bobsleigh. He is aiming to compete at the 2022 Winter Olympics.

:03:11. > :03:13.Lucy from Guildford says, "I'm already an ice skater. Seeing how

:03:14. > :03:17.young some of the athletes were has pushed my dream to go to the Winter

:03:18. > :03:20.Olympics further." Thanks so much for all those

:03:21. > :03:23.comments, keep them coming in. In the Premier League, there was

:03:24. > :03:25.brilliant entertainment at Anfield yesterday as Liverpool kept their

:03:26. > :03:29.title hopes alive with a fantastic 4-3 win over Swansea, in a match

:03:30. > :03:32.that went back and forth several times. Daniel Sturridge gave the

:03:33. > :03:35.home side the lead inside three minutes. Jordan Henderson made it

:03:36. > :03:38.two shortly afterwards, but Swansea hit back with two goals in quick

:03:39. > :03:41.succession from former Liverpool man Jonjo Shelvey and Wilfried Bony to

:03:42. > :03:44.make it 2-2. The two sides traded goals again before Henderson

:03:45. > :03:54.eventually grabbed the decisive seventh goal, to complete a big win

:03:55. > :03:59.for Brendan Rodgers' side. I don't think we are at our best.

:04:00. > :04:05.But credit to Swansea as well, because they pressed us quite well.

:04:06. > :04:11.They denied us spaces at times. So, we know we can score goals. We know

:04:12. > :04:15.we were not on one of our better days. But we are a team that has the

:04:16. > :04:18.resilience to keep fighting. Showbiz now, and he won the Sound of

:04:19. > :04:22.2014 earlier this year and now singer-songwriter sam smith has got

:04:23. > :04:25.himself a number one single. He's at the top of the UK singles charts

:04:26. > :04:28.with "Money On My Mind". It's thought Sam's success at the BRIT

:04:29. > :04:32.awards, where he won the Critics Choice award, helped him sell over

:04:33. > :04:34.100,000 copies. It's the first time the winner of that award has done

:04:35. > :04:37.this. Last up, to a special delivery at

:04:38. > :04:41.Brussels airport in Belgium. Excited fans were waiting for the arrival of

:04:42. > :04:44.a pair of pandas who made a long journey from China. Sing Way,

:04:45. > :04:48.meaning "twinkling star", and How How, meaning "cute", are on loan to

:04:49. > :04:53.Belgium for 15 years. They'll start a special breeding programme and go

:04:54. > :04:56.on show to the public in April. That's all from me, Newsround's back

:04:57. > :05:01.right here in about half an hour.
