:00:19. > :00:21.club have sacked their manager, Claudio Ranieri, just nine

:00:22. > :00:27.months after he led them to Premier League victory.

:00:28. > :00:31.Leicester City - the most unlikely of Premier League champions.

:00:32. > :00:37.And it was Claudio Ranieri who led one of sport's greatest miracles.

:00:38. > :00:41.He was even named BBC Sports Personality's Coach of the Year.

:00:42. > :00:46.It is incredible what happened, but it is

:00:47. > :00:52.But less than a year after that unbelievable dream -

:00:53. > :00:59.The club's only won five out of 25 Premier League games this season -

:01:00. > :01:02.and are just one point above the relegation zone.

:01:03. > :01:07.Last night, Ranieri was sacked by the club's bosses.

:01:08. > :01:10.The club said in a statement that it was the "most difficult

:01:11. > :01:13.decision" but "we are duty-bound to the club's long-term

:01:14. > :01:17.interests above all sense of personal sentiment."

:01:18. > :01:21.No word from Ranieri yet, but Match Of The Day presenter,

:01:22. > :01:25.and former Leicester star, Gary Lineker has called

:01:26. > :01:28.the decision "unforgivable" and "gut-wrenchingly sad".

:01:29. > :01:30.Ranieri's last game in charge was Wednesday night's

:01:31. > :01:34.2-1 defeat to Sevilla - in the last 16 of

:01:35. > :01:38.He appeared unaware of what was about to happen.

:01:39. > :01:43.We know, we know they are better than us, very high quality team.

:01:44. > :01:54.But it was Leciester's poor performance in the Premier League
