:00:00. > :00:12.The Hi, I'm Leah with your last Newsround of the day. Coming up: The

:00:13. > :00:18.rescue of three bears who were kept as pets. And scientists discover

:00:19. > :00:22.more about the Moon. It's something you see every evening lighting up

:00:23. > :00:25.the night sky but have you ever wondered what the Moon is made of?

:00:26. > :00:30.Well scientists have been trying to work out the make up of the Moon for

:00:31. > :00:33.a long time. They thought they'd understood it but now they're not so

:00:34. > :00:37.sure. Nel's been investigating. The Moon - when it's shining brightly

:00:38. > :00:40.you can't miss it and it's an object that has fascinated people for

:00:41. > :00:44.thousands of years. You may think the moon's just there to tell you

:00:45. > :00:48.it's time for bed. But it actually has loads of functions. The moon

:00:49. > :00:55.affects the tides in our oceans and the seasons in the year. It can also

:00:56. > :01:00.be used to measure things like time and date in a calendar. And sending

:01:01. > :01:04.a man to the moon in 1969 was one of the biggest achievements of our

:01:05. > :01:07.time. By studying rocks from the Moon, scientists thought they had

:01:08. > :01:10.worked out what was up there. But recently they've discovered it may

:01:11. > :01:20.have a lot less water than they thought. So what is it made of and

:01:21. > :01:25.why does it matter? Storytellers used to say it was made of cheese -

:01:26. > :01:33.well one thing for sure that's definitely not true. We used to

:01:34. > :01:39.think the moon was made in a massive collision back in history but that

:01:40. > :01:51.would have tried it out. -- dried it out. It's clear there's still loads

:01:52. > :01:55.to find out about the moon. There are plans to send more missions up

:01:56. > :01:58.there in the future so chances are there are loads more discoveries yet

:01:59. > :02:01.to come. Next, a college in London has started a girls-only course for

:02:02. > :02:04.wannabe orchestra conductors after complaints there's too few women

:02:05. > :02:08.doing it. Last year this lady - Marin Alsop - became the first woman

:02:09. > :02:12.ever to conduct the famous Last Night of the Proms event. We've been

:02:13. > :02:15.asking what jobs you'd like to see more women or more men doing? Tori

:02:16. > :02:23.in Sheffield says there should be more girls designing cars. Alice, in

:02:24. > :02:27.Basingstoke says I'd like to see more male nurses and dentists and

:02:28. > :02:30.more female doctors. And before we go three brown bear cubs have been

:02:31. > :02:33.rescued in Eastern Europe The one-month-old cubs - thought to be

:02:34. > :02:36.brothers and sisters - were being kept illegally inside two separate

:02:37. > :02:39.homes. Animal campaigners were tipped off when photos of the cubs

:02:40. > :02:46.were spotted on a social networking site. The trio are now being looked

:02:47. > :02:52.after at a bear sanctuary and authorities are investigating what

:02:53. > :02:56.happened to the mother. That's all from me, Ricky's back with more

:02:57. > :03:00.Newsround tomorrow morning at 07:40. Bye from me!
