0:00:12 > 0:00:16Hi, Whitney here, with your Friday Newsround.

0:00:16 > 0:00:21First up, the new Zimbabwean president Emmerson Mnangagwa has

0:00:21 > 0:00:23been sworn in today, in a packled stadium which had

0:00:23 > 0:00:26the atmosphere of a pop cconcert.

0:00:26 > 0:00:30He replaces Robert Mugabe, who had been president for 37 years

0:00:30 > 0:00:32until the army took control of the country earlier this month.

0:00:32 > 0:00:37Mugabe did not attend the ceremony.

0:00:37 > 0:00:40If you want to know more about what's going on in Zimbabwe

0:00:40 > 0:00:45then head online for our guide.

0:00:45 > 0:00:48Next, if you've seen lots of queues around shops today,

0:00:48 > 0:00:49it's because it's Black Friday!

0:00:49 > 0:00:50What is that?

0:00:50 > 0:00:53Well, It's when adults spends loads of money on big sales.

0:00:53 > 0:00:55It's something that started in America and then came here.

0:00:55 > 0:00:58People in the UK are expected to spend over £1 billion

0:00:58 > 0:01:03on online shopping today.

0:01:03 > 0:01:08Next, meet the world's best teacher!

0:01:08 > 0:01:11Maggie from Canada won this year's famous Global Teacher prize.

0:01:11 > 0:01:13She teaches at a school in the Arctic Circle

0:01:13 > 0:01:16where the children walk for miles through snow just to get to class.

0:01:16 > 0:01:19Watch this.

0:01:21 > 0:01:26Every day when my students come to is school, and they come in my

0:01:26 > 0:01:30classroom, I I thank them for getting there that day, I know they

0:01:30 > 0:01:35have run a marathon, they have gone through all sorts of obstacles to

0:01:35 > 0:01:42get to the classroom door. My name is Maggie and I teach in the Arctic.

0:01:42 > 0:01:47As a teacher in the Arctic, the definition of a teacher is very very

0:01:47 > 0:01:52broad, you are not only instruct lessons in the lass room, but you

0:01:52 > 0:01:56really have to engage with your student outside of the classroom,

0:01:56 > 0:01:59you have to make the class and school welcoming to them, they have

0:01:59 > 0:02:05to see you in the community, often you take on roles such as social

0:02:05 > 0:02:09worker, or a councillor or maybe a family friend.

0:02:09 > 0:02:15I think that in a student from the UK or India were to drop into my

0:02:15 > 0:02:19classroom, one think they might be surprised about is that not every

0:02:19 > 0:02:24classroom has four walls. As much as possible, I try to take my students

0:02:24 > 0:02:30outside of the traditional school, and into the community, where we can

0:02:30 > 0:02:35do project based learning, authentic learning and I think that is what

0:02:35 > 0:02:39the powerful about the style of teaching I have been working on. As

0:02:39 > 0:02:43much as possible I love integrating students into the community,

0:02:43 > 0:02:48creating opportunities for them to offer community service, and

0:02:48 > 0:02:53basicically create opportunities for them to see themselves not as

0:02:53 > 0:02:56problems, but as agents of change in their community.

0:02:56 > 0:02:57their community.

0:02:57 > 0:02:59Time for some sport now, and down in Australia,

0:02:59 > 0:03:01the Aussies are fighting back against England in

0:03:01 > 0:03:02the Ashes test series.

0:03:02 > 0:03:04The Australian captain is doing well on 64 runs.

0:03:04 > 0:03:06The score is now 165-4.

0:03:06 > 0:03:15But the Aussies still have a target of 137 runs to catch up.

0:03:15 > 0:03:18And in Rugby League news, England will be up against Tonga

0:03:18 > 0:03:21this weekend in Saturday's World Cup semi final.

0:03:21 > 0:03:24It's a big match for England, because if they manage

0:03:24 > 0:03:27to beat Tonga this weekend, it will be the first time in 25

0:03:27 > 0:03:34years they have made it to the World Cup final.

0:03:34 > 0:03:37Next, if you love Blue Planet then I think you'll love this.

0:03:39 > 0:03:40elephant is no exception.
