:00:18. > :00:28.Coming up: Snow and more on the way. And I am at the Olympic Park, six

:00:28. > :00:35.

:00:35. > :00:38.months on from the very first event of London 2012.

:00:38. > :00:41.First to the thing everyone's talking about - more heavy snow is

:00:41. > :00:44.set to hit parts of the UK anytime now. Some schools in Scotland and

:00:44. > :00:47.northern England closed early today as people prepare for one last

:00:47. > :00:50.snowfall. Warmer temperatures and rain are set to come our way over

:00:50. > :00:53.the weekend, but there are fears the melting snow and heavy rain

:00:53. > :00:55.could cause flooding. Meanwhile in America, temperatures of minus 20

:00:55. > :01:00.degrees have been making bubbles freeze in mid-air and turning

:01:00. > :01:03.bananas into hammers. Tennis now and Andy Murray is into

:01:03. > :01:05.the Australian Open final after an epic 5-set battle against Roger

:01:05. > :01:09.Federer. It was a gruelling match and Nel watched the action.

:01:09. > :01:13.From the start Murray looked sharp winning the first set but Federer

:01:13. > :01:17.won the second on a tie-break. Murray struck back winning the

:01:17. > :01:27.third set. The Swiss master took the fourth,

:01:27. > :01:38.

:01:38. > :01:41.again on a tie-break. The Andy Murray of old might have broken

:01:41. > :01:43.down at this point but not any more. He refocused and raced to a 5-2

:01:43. > :01:46.lead, winning the match after a Federer forehand went long.

:01:46. > :01:48.A great win for Murray but in Sunday's final it gets even tougher.

:01:48. > :01:50.He will face world number one Novak Djokovic.

:01:50. > :01:54.It's six months since a spectacular opening ceremony kick-started an

:01:54. > :01:59.incredible few weeks of sport at London 2012 - but have the Games

:01:59. > :02:02.continued to inspire a generation? Leah's at the Olympic Park now.

:02:02. > :02:06.Yes, the Olympic Park looks a lot less busy than it did six months

:02:06. > :02:08.ago, when the eyes of the world were focused right here for the

:02:08. > :02:11.Olympic and Paralympic Games. There was a real feel-good factor

:02:11. > :02:14.immediately after London 2012, but as those golden memories fade, are

:02:14. > :02:17.young people still feeling inspired? I've been to a school and

:02:17. > :02:23.sports club here in East London, to find out.

:02:23. > :02:27.Jessica Ennis is the Olympic champion! The best moment was the

:02:27. > :02:32.gymnastics. Has to be when Mo Farah won. He won with lots of pride, it

:02:32. > :02:35.was very good that. My favourite bit was when Jade Jones won gold

:02:36. > :02:40.medal and I thought that was really inspiring. Some of the highlights

:02:40. > :02:45.of the amazing summer of sport. But are those just distant memories now

:02:45. > :02:48.the Games are over? Or have our athletes inspired the next

:02:48. > :02:52.generation of sporting heroes? After seeing everyone else get

:02:52. > :02:56.involved in the Olympics I feel as part of carrying it on to get

:02:56. > :03:00.involved myself. Yes the Olympics was important, it shone that light

:03:00. > :03:06.on what was available. But it's even more important for us now to

:03:06. > :03:11.continue that on and the need and demand is definite definitely there.

:03:11. > :03:15.It's changed everyone, the way we see sports, football, everything,

:03:15. > :03:22.running, athletics, it's different now because we have seen the

:03:22. > :03:25.Olympics and Paralympics. So those guys are still feeling the

:03:25. > :03:35.buzz, but what about across the rest of the country? You've been

:03:35. > :03:52.

:03:52. > :03:55.getting in touch on the Newsround And it's not just about memories -

:03:55. > :03:58.300 million is being spent to turn the Olympic Park into a community

:03:58. > :04:01.for people, with new schools and homes being built. 17,500 seats

:04:01. > :04:09.have been removed from the Aquatic Centre, and temporary venues like

:04:09. > :04:12.the hockey stadium are being demolished. However, whilst

:04:12. > :04:14.athletics and music concerts are booked into the Olympic Stadium

:04:14. > :04:24.itself in July, the long-term future of this great venue still

:04:24. > :04:26.

:04:26. > :04:30.unclear. Back to you, Joe. Thank you very much. Next - how

:04:30. > :04:33.many of you can tell what type of bird this is? If you didn't spot it

:04:33. > :04:36.was a Mistle Thrush, I can't blame you. Figures from the RSPB show

:04:36. > :04:39.that Mistle Thrushes are now spotted in fewer than half the

:04:39. > :04:42.number of gardens they were seen in 10 years ago. And with their

:04:42. > :04:46.numbers on the slide, the charity wants you to join in their annual

:04:46. > :04:47.Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend to help them get a picture of how

:04:47. > :04:51.many birds there are across the country.
