:03:03. > :03:04.and just clicking and sharing, in order to make
:03:05. > :03:16.So, people make thousands of pounds through people like you and me
:03:17. > :03:21.Give us an example of when fake news gets out of hand.
:03:22. > :03:23.One of our studies showed that, during the US presidential
:03:24. > :03:25.election recently, more people were sharing fake news stories
:03:26. > :03:28.This was affecting the way people were voting.
:03:29. > :03:37.That has a huge impact on the way we make our decisions.
:03:38. > :03:40.So, how do we know what is real or not?
:03:41. > :03:44.What you can do is double-check the domain name.
:03:45. > :03:53.What people sometimes is create a domain name
:03:54. > :03:56.which looks very similar to the name of a real news site.
:03:57. > :04:00.If this story seems too good to be true, what you can then do is check
:04:01. > :04:03.If they are also covering the story, it is probably true.
