:00:00. > :00:00.things footy. Hello, Leah here this morning with Newsround. Friday's top

:00:00. > :00:10.stories are on the way plus some of this. We've got the base jump from

:00:11. > :00:14.the world's tallest building. And what do you get when you cross a

:00:15. > :00:19.donkey with a zebra? Find out on Newsround.

:00:20. > :00:25.First up, could matches in a major football championships be played in

:00:26. > :00:28.a city near you? It might seem a long way off but the bidding process

:00:29. > :00:32.to host matches for the 2020 European footy Championships kicks

:00:33. > :00:36.off today. England, Wales, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland are all

:00:37. > :00:42.putting their top stadiums forward as venues. Ricky has more. The

:00:43. > :00:46.chance to be part of the largest footy competition after the World

:00:47. > :00:50.Cup. That's what's at stake today as countries put themselves forward for

:00:51. > :00:53.the Euros in 2020. The tournament will be held all around Europe

:00:54. > :00:56.rather than in one or two countries. England, Scotland, the Republic of

:00:57. > :01:00.Ireland and Wales have all placed bids to host matches. Wembley

:01:01. > :01:04.Stadium in London is used to hosting big football games including the FA

:01:05. > :01:09.Cup finals. It's one of the larger stadiums in the running with space

:01:10. > :01:13.for 90,000 fans. The Millennium Stadium in Cardiff has just under

:01:14. > :01:17.75,000 seats. Built to host the 1999 Rugby World Cup, it's hosted many

:01:18. > :01:21.big games and concerts since. Scotland is putting Glasgow's

:01:22. > :01:24.Hampden Park forward. It has room for 52,000 fans and is hosting

:01:25. > :01:29.events at this summer's Commonwealth Games. And the Republic of Ireland

:01:30. > :01:32.is hoping the Aviva Stadium in Dublin will be selected for what

:01:33. > :01:36.could be its first major championships. But is it likely that

:01:37. > :01:39.any will be chosen? In Wales's favour they are actually hosting the

:01:40. > :01:44.UEFA Super Cup Final in the summer so that's a good dress rehearsal for

:01:45. > :01:47.them so they can show to UEFA, if they can do a good job hosting that

:01:48. > :01:51.match in the summer then perhaps they stand an even better chance of

:01:52. > :01:54.hosting some of those matches at Euro 2020. UEFA, the organisation

:01:55. > :01:56.behind European football, will tell us in September who has been chosen.

:01:57. > :02:07.Next to an It's a busy few months coming up for

:02:08. > :02:11.the One Direction boys, as later today they kick off the first leg of

:02:12. > :02:15.their massive world tour. The lucky people of Colombia in South America

:02:16. > :02:19.will be the first to see the show and it reaches the UK in about a

:02:20. > :02:22.month's time. We've been talking to Chi Chi Izundu from Radio One

:02:23. > :02:26.Newsbeat about why it's such a big deal. Groups like One Direction go

:02:27. > :02:29.one tour because it really is about the only way you can make money

:02:30. > :02:33.these days in the music industry. Whilst they're on tour they get to

:02:34. > :02:36.do things like sell merchandise, like T-shirts, cups were their name,

:02:37. > :02:41.books, stickers, you name it. They can add that to the end of how much

:02:42. > :02:44.they're going to make at the end of the tour. We don't exactly know why

:02:45. > :02:48.One Direction are starting their tour in Colombia. We do know that

:02:49. > :02:51.this is their biggest tour to date. They have managed to get millions of

:02:52. > :02:54.fans across the world and it's thanks to how much they Tweet.

:02:55. > :02:57.They're always on Twitter. Always updating fans about what they're

:02:58. > :03:02.doing, what they're up to, and they are one of the few bands who don't

:03:03. > :03:06.mind if you stop them and ask them for a picture. So obviously, they

:03:07. > :03:09.are trying to give all their fans as much time with One Direction as

:03:10. > :03:13.possible. Next to an incredible story about a rescue from a desert

:03:14. > :03:16.island. Five people were rescued off the east coast of Australia this

:03:17. > :03:19.week after they wrote a giant distress signal in the sand. Their

:03:20. > :03:24.boat drifted away, with all their belongings on board, as they swam

:03:25. > :03:27.off the coast of Queensland. So to attract rescue workers, they managed

:03:28. > :03:34.to write SOS in large letters in a small sand bar. We were tasked to go

:03:35. > :03:37.out to these islands. We started our normal search routine and eventually

:03:38. > :03:42.I thought I saw some movement on this little bunch of rocks and as we

:03:43. > :03:45.got a little bit closer, sure enough there were some people there. And

:03:46. > :03:49.very soon we saw the SOS in the sand bank which sort of confirmed to me,

:03:50. > :03:52.yes, these people are in trouble, but we weren't originally looking

:03:53. > :03:56.for five people. We were only looking for one, so it was a bit of

:03:57. > :04:00.a surprise. They had been there for a long time. They were pretty

:04:01. > :04:03.sunburnt and cooked out and very thirsty and they were pretty happy

:04:04. > :04:06.that somebody came along to pick them up. They would have been pretty

:04:07. > :04:10.cold and pretty uncomfortable had we missed them by nightfall. All they

:04:11. > :04:13.didn't do was secure their boat very well. Now if you're still half

:04:14. > :04:17.asleep, then this should wake you up! Two sky divers have set a new

:04:18. > :04:20.world record by jumping from the world's tallest building, the Burj

:04:21. > :04:24.Khalifa in Dubai, over 800 metres up. They loved doing it so much they

:04:25. > :04:28.went back and did it all over again and afterwards they were just as

:04:29. > :04:31.happy with their certificate. Have you ever imagined what a cross

:04:32. > :04:35.between a zebra and a donkey would look like? Well imagine no more one

:04:36. > :04:39.has been born at a Zoo in Mexico. They are incredibly rare and this

:04:40. > :04:43.little one has benn taking some time out with her mum whose a zebra. Her

:04:44. > :04:50.dad, a blue-eyed albino donkey, lives on a nearby farm. Some people

:04:51. > :04:53.call them a zee-donk or a Zon-key. That's all from me. Newsround's back

:04:54. > :04:56.right here in about half an hour.
