:00:00. > :00:07.Hello again. Leah here with today's top stories. Stick with around for

:00:08. > :00:11.some of this. Fancy a bit of digital dribbling? We check out when this

:00:12. > :00:15.robot played football with the President of the United States. And

:00:16. > :00:17.we'll bring you the base jump from the world's tallest building. This

:00:18. > :00:27.is Newsround. But first the bidding process to

:00:28. > :00:31.host matches for the 2020 European Football Championships kicks off

:00:32. > :00:34.today. It might seem a long way off but officials in England, Wales,

:00:35. > :00:41.Scotland and Northern Ireland will be busy putting forward why their

:00:42. > :00:44.stadiums should host the Games. For the first time, matches will be held

:00:45. > :00:49.in countries across Europe. Ricky has more. The chance to be part of

:00:50. > :00:52.the largest footy competition after the World Cup. That's what's at

:00:53. > :00:57.stake today as countries put themselves forward for the Euros in

:00:58. > :01:01.2020. The tournament will be held all around Europe rather than in one

:01:02. > :01:04.or two countries. England, Scotland, the Republic of Ireland and Wales

:01:05. > :01:07.have all placed bids to host matches. Wembley Stadium in London

:01:08. > :01:12.is used to hosting big football games including the FA Cup finals.

:01:13. > :01:15.It's one of the larger stadiums in the running with space for 90,000

:01:16. > :01:20.fans. The Millennium Stadium in Cardiff has just under 75,000 seats.

:01:21. > :01:25.Built to host the 1999 Rugby World Cup, it's hosted many big games and

:01:26. > :01:29.concerts since. Scotland is putting Glasgow's Hampden Park forward. It

:01:30. > :01:33.has room for 52,000 fans and is hosting events at this summer's

:01:34. > :01:36.Commonwealth Games. And the Republic of Ireland is hoping the Aviva

:01:37. > :01:41.Stadium in Dublin will be selected for what could be its first major

:01:42. > :01:44.championships. But is it likely that any will be chosen? In Wales's

:01:45. > :01:48.favour they are actually hosting the UEFA Super Cup Final in the summer

:01:49. > :01:52.so that's a good dress rehearsal for them so they can show to UEFA, if

:01:53. > :01:55.they can do a good job hosting that match in the summer then perhaps

:01:56. > :01:59.they stand an even better chance of hosting some of those matches at

:02:00. > :02:03.Euro 2020. UEFA, the organisation behind European football, will tell

:02:04. > :02:06.us in September who has been chosen. Showbiz news now and the One

:02:07. > :02:09.Direction boys are gearing up for their first leg of their massive

:02:10. > :02:13.world tour in Colombia in South America later today. They'll be back

:02:14. > :02:17.here in the UK in about a month's time. And just because we know you

:02:18. > :02:21.love them we caught up with Chi Chi Izundu from Radio One Newsbeat to

:02:22. > :02:25.find out why the tour is such a big deal. Groups like One Direction go

:02:26. > :02:28.one tour because it really is about the only way you can make money

:02:29. > :02:31.these days in the music industry. Whilst they're on tour they get to

:02:32. > :02:35.do things like sell merchandise, like T-shirts, cups were their name,

:02:36. > :02:40.books, stickers, you name it. They can add that to the end of how much

:02:41. > :02:43.they're going to make at the end of the tour. We don't exactly know why

:02:44. > :02:47.One Direction are starting their tour in Colombia. We do know that

:02:48. > :02:51.this is their biggest tour to date. They have managed to get millions of

:02:52. > :02:54.fans across the world and it's thanks to how much they Tweet.

:02:55. > :02:57.They're always on Twitter. Always updating fans about what they're

:02:58. > :03:01.doing, what they're up to, and they are one of the few bands who don't

:03:02. > :03:05.mind if you stop them and ask them for a picture. So obviously, they

:03:06. > :03:09.are trying to give all their fans as much time with One Direction as

:03:10. > :03:12.possible. Seven British divers from the 2012 Olympics, including bronze

:03:13. > :03:18.medallist Tom Daley, will compete at London's Aquatics Centre today in

:03:19. > :03:22.the World Diving Series. It's the first event to be held there since

:03:23. > :03:25.the London Olympics. But as Tom says, it's been really difficult for

:03:26. > :03:30.him to find a new diving partner since his Olympic team-mate Pete

:03:31. > :03:34.Waterfield retired. I always want to try and find a syncro partner but

:03:35. > :03:38.it's kind of tough to find someone that does the same difficult dives I

:03:39. > :03:41.do in this country. Leading into 2016, there's no point wasting too

:03:42. > :03:45.much energy on something that isn't going to get an Olympic medal so if

:03:46. > :03:49.it's going to be fighting for sixth or seventh place, I'd rather kind of

:03:50. > :03:51.not focus on that and focus on trying to get a gold medal

:03:52. > :03:52.individually. Next, check out American President Barack Obama,

:03:53. > :04:09.playing football with a robot. OK, I'm ready. Good job. The

:04:10. > :04:13.President was in Japan as part of a big tour of Asia, and was visiting

:04:14. > :04:16.students at a science and tech museum in Tokyo. A kangaroo has been

:04:17. > :04:19.saved from drowning in a back garden swimming pool in Australia. The

:04:20. > :04:23.animal fell into the pool in Victoria state and couldn't get out

:04:24. > :04:26.as these pictures from a helicopter show. Rescuers were quick to the

:04:27. > :04:30.scene and managed to sedate the animal before helping it out. It was

:04:31. > :04:38.taken to a nearby zoo to get treatment for being too cold. Two

:04:39. > :04:41.sky divers have set a new world record by jumping from the world's

:04:42. > :04:47.tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, over 800 metres up. They

:04:48. > :04:51.loved doing it so much they went back and did it all over again.

:04:52. > :04:54.That's all from me. Ricky will have your top stories later this

:04:55. > :04:57.afternoon at 4.20pm this afternoon. Bye bye.
