0:00:03 > 0:00:07Hi, I'm Ricky and this is Newsround live on CBBC.

0:00:07 > 0:00:08Coming up...

0:00:08 > 0:00:10The new arm helping this girl make music.

0:00:10 > 0:00:15The 101-year-old athlete winning big.

0:00:15 > 0:00:25And could this flying car be the new way to get around?

0:00:29 > 0:00:32But first, do your parents spend too much time on one of these,

0:00:32 > 0:00:33their phones?

0:00:33 > 0:00:35A big survey suggests that some children are worried

0:00:35 > 0:00:37about the amount of time mums and dads spend

0:00:37 > 0:00:40checking their phones.

0:00:40 > 0:00:43More than a third of 11-18-year-olds said they asked

0:00:43 > 0:00:44their parents to limit their time on their phones.

0:00:44 > 0:00:50A small number of kids said their parents' addiction to tech

0:00:50 > 0:00:51stopped the family from enjoying each other's company.

0:00:51 > 0:01:01Well, you've been having your say at Newsround online.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21Thanks for all of those comments and if you haven't already got

0:01:21 > 0:01:23in touch on this one, don't worry, it's not too late.

0:01:23 > 0:01:25Go online now to have your say.

0:01:25 > 0:01:26Now to a ten-year-old girl

0:01:26 > 0:01:29from America who has just received an important gift that

0:01:29 > 0:01:30has changed her life.

0:01:30 > 0:01:36Meet Isabel, and check out her brand-new prosthetic arm.

0:01:36 > 0:01:39It was 3-D printed just for her so she could play the violin

0:01:39 > 0:01:43after signing up to a music class at school.

0:01:43 > 0:01:45Isabel was born with an incomplete left arm, which makes playing

0:01:45 > 0:01:48the violin difficult.

0:01:48 > 0:01:49But that did not stop her.

0:01:49 > 0:01:52My mom's phrase is when you say "I can't do it",

0:01:52 > 0:01:54it's "I can't do it YET".

0:01:54 > 0:01:58Her music teacher fashioned a makeshift prosthetic arm

0:01:58 > 0:02:00to hold her bow, then called his university

0:02:00 > 0:02:03to help out.

0:02:03 > 0:02:06A team of five students designed a pretty blingy arm for her,

0:02:06 > 0:02:08and now Isabel's new arm allows her to hold and

0:02:08 > 0:02:10move the bow properly.

0:02:10 > 0:02:12I have to say thank you to them,

0:02:12 > 0:02:16because without them I couldn't really be able to play.

0:02:16 > 0:02:17They also made a grip

0:02:17 > 0:02:20so that she can ride a bike with both arms.

0:02:20 > 0:02:22Since the university students designed Isabel's arm,

0:02:22 > 0:02:23they've been getting even more requests.

0:02:23 > 0:02:25So thanks to Isabel, other people can now benefit

0:02:25 > 0:02:32from a new 3-D printed arm.

0:02:32 > 0:02:36Newcastle fans are still celebrating this morning after their side sealed

0:02:36 > 0:02:43promotion back to the Premier League.

0:02:43 > 0:02:45Rafa Benitez's side thumped Preston 4-1 at St James' Park

0:02:45 > 0:02:47to join Brighton in sealing automatic promotion

0:02:47 > 0:02:52from the Championship.

0:02:52 > 0:02:55Newcastle can now start planning for life back in the top level

0:02:55 > 0:02:57of English football for the first time since 2016.

0:02:57 > 0:03:01Next, quite a lot of you guys love the sound of the end of school bell

0:03:01 > 0:03:03but for many primary school children living in China's capital Beijing,

0:03:03 > 0:03:05hometime is only the start of the day.

0:03:05 > 0:03:06Here's why!

0:03:06 > 0:03:10SCHOOL BELL RINGS.

0:03:10 > 0:03:12That sound in the afternoon usually means it's time

0:03:12 > 0:03:14to go home from school.

0:03:14 > 0:03:18Well, yes, for most of us in the UK.

0:03:18 > 0:03:20But if we cross over 6,500 miles to Beijing in China,

0:03:20 > 0:03:22that sound can sometimes mean more learning.

0:03:22 > 0:03:25You may have heard of or even seen one of these before.

0:03:25 > 0:03:26It's called the abacus,

0:03:26 > 0:03:28which was used before your parents were even born

0:03:28 > 0:03:37to learn how to count.

0:03:37 > 0:03:38Basically, it's a very old-fashioned calculator

0:03:38 > 0:03:39that uses beads to count big sums,

0:03:39 > 0:03:48and it's one of the things the students here are using to learn.

0:03:48 > 0:03:51What I'm about to say may shock some of you,

0:03:51 > 0:03:53but the pupils here are sometimes volunteering to stay

0:03:53 > 0:03:56for after school lessons for up to 12 extra hours a week!

0:03:56 > 0:04:00TRANSLATION: I have Tuesday and Sunday off.

0:04:00 > 0:04:02I do English, painting, abacus and lots of others.

0:04:02 > 0:04:08On Sunday, it's my favourite, robot class.

0:04:08 > 0:04:11Many people here think that if they don't take up extra classes,

0:04:11 > 0:04:18they will fall behind their mates.

0:04:18 > 0:04:21Their grades are improving because of it, so it's pretty hard

0:04:21 > 0:04:23to see it as a bad thing.

0:04:23 > 0:04:26But the question is, guys, would you want to give up your spare

0:04:26 > 0:04:31time to learn more things like the abacus?

0:04:31 > 0:04:33American astronaut Peggy Whitsun has been chatting to US president

0:04:33 > 0:04:38Donald Trump from on board the International Space Station.

0:04:38 > 0:04:41Her mission to the ISS means she has spent more time in space

0:04:41 > 0:04:43than any other US astronaut.

0:04:43 > 0:04:45She told the president what she'd been doing,

0:04:45 > 0:04:48including how the crew have to drink their own recycled wee.

0:04:48 > 0:04:55Water is such a precious resource up here that we are also cleaning

0:04:55 > 0:04:57up our urine and making it drinkable,

0:04:57 > 0:04:59and it's really not as bad as it sounds.

0:04:59 > 0:05:06That's good, I'm glad to hear that. Better you than me.

0:05:06 > 0:05:12Next up, the Olympics has nothing on this next sporting event.

0:05:12 > 0:05:13The World Masters Games in New Zealand features

0:05:13 > 0:05:19some of the oldest sportsmen and women in the world.

0:05:19 > 0:05:22Man Kaur here from India is 101 years old and she won gold

0:05:22 > 0:05:25in the 100 metres sprint, her time, one minute, 14 seconds!

0:05:25 > 0:05:27She was guaranteed a medal because she was the only runner

0:05:27 > 0:05:30in the over 100 category.

0:05:30 > 0:05:34Now, how do you fancy getting a lift to school on one of these?

0:05:34 > 0:05:36This is the view from a new "personal flying machine"

0:05:36 > 0:05:38which can reach speeds up to 25 miles an hour.

0:05:38 > 0:05:42It's powered by eight rotor blades, and like a helicopter, it can take

0:05:42 > 0:05:43off and land vertically.

0:05:43 > 0:05:45The company behind "the Flyer" hope to have it on sale

0:05:45 > 0:05:51by the end of the year.

0:05:51 > 0:06:01That's all from me, Newsround's back at 4.20 this afternoon.

0:06:08 > 0:06:10Good morning, you're watching CBBC HQ.

0:06:10 > 0:06:13You're with me, Lozza and this guy, ain't that right, mister? High five!

0:06:13 > 0:06:15You see, I try and hand him an olive branch,

0:06:15 > 0:06:16he doesn't even high-five me back.
