:00:13. > :00:27.Find out how much hidden sugar's in the food you eat every day.

:00:28. > :00:29.First this morning, you've probably heard of Peter Rabbit,

:00:30. > :00:34.They are Beatrix Potter characters in her famous books.

:00:35. > :00:37.Well, now a brand new story with a new character is coming out -

:00:38. > :00:44.So we've sent Ayshah to Ambleside in the Lake District

:00:45. > :00:53.Welcome to Hilltop House, Beatrix Potter's house

:00:54. > :00:55.where thousands of visitors from all over the world come every

:00:56. > :00:58.year to see where she used to write and get inspiration

:00:59. > :01:06.this is where she wrote some of their wonderful stories. A perfect

:01:07. > :01:11.place to tell you about a new book, the first released in 40 years. And

:01:12. > :01:16.it is called The Tale of Kitty in Boots. It's all about the Black cat

:01:17. > :01:22.who lead a double life. And an arch villain called Mr Todd. It was

:01:23. > :01:25.written over 100 years ago. If you're wondering why it took so

:01:26. > :01:32.long, it was found hidden in a notebook. And then they brought on

:01:33. > :01:36.board Quentin Blake, who was an illustrator, someone who did the

:01:37. > :01:43.pictures in books. He did stuff for Roald Dahl, so it looks like they've

:01:44. > :01:48.got a good illustrator. We have words, pictures and a new book and

:01:49. > :01:55.it's very, very exciting. I can remember my first Beatrix Potter

:01:56. > :02:01.book I read. I cannot believe I'm in the house where she'd dreamt up all

:02:02. > :02:05.of these characters. It's so very exciting. One thing that you do need

:02:06. > :02:08.to know is that the book is going to be out in September so that is the

:02:09. > :02:11.date for your diary. Back to you, Hayley.

:02:12. > :02:13.We want to know which is your favourite Beatrix Potter

:02:14. > :02:16.Go onto our website and let us know.

:02:17. > :02:19.Next, you've probably seen a lot about how eating or drinking too

:02:20. > :02:21.much sugar can be bad for your health.

:02:22. > :02:24.But sometimes it can be tricky to know exactly how much

:02:25. > :02:26.of it is actually IN the things we buy.

:02:27. > :02:29.Ricky met some kids who have been using new technology to keep an eye

:02:30. > :02:38.The fightback against eating and drinking too much sugar

:02:39. > :02:43.continues, only this year technology has been drafted in to try

:02:44. > :02:47.An app supported by the government in England has just been launched

:02:48. > :02:50.to help you work out what's in your food.

:02:51. > :02:53.You scan the item's barcode and it should tell you the amount of sugar

:02:54. > :02:59.Working out what's in your food isn't always easy, so we set this

:03:00. > :03:05.I've come to this school to meet a group of kids who have been

:03:06. > :03:13.Let's find out how they are getting on.

:03:14. > :03:16.Well, basically, I eat more sugar than I should.

:03:17. > :03:19.Amanda is a nutritionist and she can't wait to get her hands

:03:20. > :03:30.Depending on the packet of sweets, it could be six teaspoons' worth

:03:31. > :03:33.of sugar, so you've blown all your sugar in one go

:03:34. > :03:41.I had toast with boiled eggs and a glass of juice.

:03:42. > :03:51.This has probably got about two and a bit teaspoons in a sugary

:03:52. > :03:55.cereal, so this has got much, much less, toast and boiled egg,

:03:56. > :04:02.You don't want to cut out all sugar, we're not saying have none at all,

:04:03. > :04:04.but given that you've got cake and a cookie,

:04:05. > :04:06.shall we just get rid of one of them?

:04:07. > :04:14.It may seem fine on the outside but too much of it can cause tooth

:04:15. > :04:18.decay and lead up to the build up of harmful fats on the inside,

:04:19. > :04:23.which can cause weight gain and even type II diabetes.

:04:24. > :04:26.Doctors recommend no more than 24 grams, that's about six sugarcubes

:04:27. > :04:29.a day if you are aged between seven and ten,

:04:30. > :04:33.so knowing exactly how much sugar is in your food and drinks and how

:04:34. > :04:42.to cut it down can go a long way in keeping you healthy.

:04:43. > :04:48.Me and Ayshah will be back in half an hour.
