:00:00. > :00:00.Wilson. See you.

:00:00. > :00:09.I'm Leah, it's Friday - the best day of the week -

:00:10. > :00:14.The weather ends Lindsey's Sport Relief zorb challenge.

:00:15. > :00:25.And stick around for some Eurovision fun.

:00:26. > :00:27.First this morning we've been following Lindsey from Blue Peter's

:00:28. > :00:30.challenge to zorb across the sea from Northern Ireland to Scotland

:00:31. > :00:35.Unfortunately weather conditions yesterday forced her to stop.

:00:36. > :00:41.She sent Newsround this message once she made it to dry land.

:00:42. > :00:44.Hey Newsround, how are you doing, I just wanted to say a little hello,

:00:45. > :00:48.I finished my challenge today, we had a really good go at it.

:00:49. > :00:51.Unfortunately I didn't make it all the way to Scotland from Ireland

:00:52. > :00:54.when I was crossing, but I did go a really long way,

:00:55. > :00:58.I did 17 nautical miles in the end which

:00:59. > :01:01.was pretty gruelling, pretty tiring, I ate so much flapjack

:01:02. > :01:04.and chocolate, you would not believe.

:01:05. > :01:08.But we gave it a really, really good go but we

:01:09. > :01:13.But I just wanted to let you know that I'm

:01:14. > :01:18.rested and healthy and happy, and the Blue Peter crew

:01:19. > :01:21.were all here supporting me, I just ate a massive bowl of pasta

:01:22. > :01:24.Thank you for all the support throughout this incredible

:01:25. > :01:29.If it inspires you to do anything, hopefully it's to get involved this

:01:30. > :01:36.To football now and all three English clubs in action last night

:01:37. > :01:39.have made it through to the last 16 of the Europa Cup

:01:40. > :01:43.Liverpool won 1-0 against German side FC Augsburg

:01:44. > :01:49.Tottenham won 3-0 against Italian side Fiorentina.

:01:50. > :01:51.And Manchester United beat the Danish champions

:01:52. > :02:00.18 year old Marcus Rashford scored twice on his debut for United.

:02:01. > :02:05.The spirit was so high in this match, and then we score

:02:06. > :02:09.the equaliser, and then a penalty, we missed the penalty,

:02:10. > :02:16.and then still we continued with attacking

:02:17. > :02:25.football and with the spirit to win, and that is not so easy.

:02:26. > :02:27.The UK's entry for the annual Eurovision Song Contest

:02:28. > :02:33.Six acts competing to represent Britain will be

:02:34. > :02:39.The last time we came first in the contest was 19 years ago -

:02:40. > :02:42.so why does the UK never ever seem to win?

:02:43. > :02:58.43 countries, millions of dreams, one chance to have the best song in

:02:59. > :03:05.Europe. So when have we actually won? 1967, Sandie Shaw became the

:03:06. > :03:15.first winner from the UK with her hit. Lulu joined Spain, the

:03:16. > :03:27.Netherlands and France in first place with her hit in 1969. 1976,

:03:28. > :03:34.brotherhood of Man with a first band from the UK to win with their

:03:35. > :03:38.single. The band Bucks fizz who formed specifically for Eurovision

:03:39. > :03:51.sang their way to first place with their hit in 1981. And in 1997,

:03:52. > :03:55.Katrina and the Waves were the first Eurovision winning entry for 16

:03:56. > :04:02.years. Five times is actually quite good but since 1997, the UK has done

:04:03. > :04:06.pretty badly, so why haven't we been successful recently? Lately, the

:04:07. > :04:12.winner has always had an up yet, up-tempo song or a downbeat pallet

:04:13. > :04:17.like Conchita a few years ago. Also there is more, edition now, with

:04:18. > :04:21.more countries in the Europe issue and song contest, plus a lot of

:04:22. > :04:24.people say that people only vote for their neighbours and our only real

:04:25. > :04:30.neighbours are islands so we are always outnumbered. The commission

:04:31. > :04:36.takes place this year in Stockholm, what or how a I think the UK has a

:04:37. > :04:38.really good chance to see, better than in recent years because the

:04:39. > :04:44.voting system has changed. The British public have a say on who we

:04:45. > :04:46.want to represent the UK in the Eurovision Song contest.

:04:47. > :04:49.That's all from me for now I'll be back with more of the day's top

:04:50. > :04:54.Go online to try our brand new quiz of the week.
