0:00:22 > 0:00:27We hear what life is like on a farm.

0:00:27 > 0:00:34Plus a homemade sled building contest in the US

0:00:36 > 0:00:38OK, time for a quick round-up of some

0:00:38 > 0:00:40of today's sports stories.

0:00:40 > 0:00:43The Winter Olympics are over.

0:00:43 > 0:00:48Yesterday's closing ceremony had pyrotechnics, puppets,

0:00:48 > 0:00:51and amazing light shows to mark the end of two weeks of competition.

0:00:51 > 0:00:56It was Team GB's best ever winter Games with five medals.

0:00:56 > 0:01:00Our athletes are expected to arrive home later today.

0:01:00 > 0:01:02Manchester City have won their first trophy under

0:01:02 > 0:01:04manager Pep Guardiola.

0:01:04 > 0:01:08They beat Arsenal 3-0 in the League Cup final at Wembley.

0:01:08 > 0:01:10For Arsenal, the League Cup remains the only domestic trophy manager

0:01:10 > 0:01:16Arsene Wenger has not won during his 21 years in charge.

0:01:16 > 0:01:19In the Premier League, Jesse Lingard headed the winner

0:01:19 > 0:01:22for Manchester United as they beat Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford.

0:01:22 > 0:01:25The win takes United back to second in the table.

0:01:25 > 0:01:28Chelsea drop to fifth after Tottenham's 1-0 victory

0:01:28 > 0:01:35at Crystal Palace earlier in the day.

0:01:35 > 0:01:38Next to the inspiring story of teenager Billy Monger.

0:01:38 > 0:01:40Despite losing both of his legs in an accident, he's

0:01:40 > 0:01:43never given up on his dream of becoming a racing driver.

0:01:43 > 0:01:45Let's hear from Billy.

0:01:45 > 0:01:46Hi.

0:01:46 > 0:01:50I'm Billy Monger and I'm here today to show you around by car

0:01:50 > 0:01:57that is adapted so I can hopefully race British F3 this year.

0:01:57 > 0:02:00Last year Billy lost both of his legs in a crash while racing.

0:02:00 > 0:02:03Now the 18-year-old is back behind the wheel of a single seater car.

0:02:03 > 0:02:05So how does he do it?

0:02:05 > 0:02:1312 years of my life I spent driving a certain way and now someone has

0:02:13 > 0:02:15just changed everything I learnt to drive in a different way.

0:02:15 > 0:02:17I'm getting used to it though.

0:02:17 > 0:02:23Basically the adaptations are that most of it is on the wheel now.

0:02:23 > 0:02:25The most important pedal is this side for me,

0:02:25 > 0:02:26the left-hand side of the wheel.

0:02:26 > 0:02:27I've got my fraught pedal.

0:02:27 > 0:02:29That accelerates the car and allows me to accelerate

0:02:29 > 0:02:31in straight lines and round corners.

0:02:31 > 0:02:34Every lap I do I'm learning something new about whether it is

0:02:34 > 0:02:36better to control it a certain way or not.

0:02:36 > 0:02:37I brake with my right prosthetic.

0:02:37 > 0:02:40We've got a shorter one which gives me more control over it.

0:02:40 > 0:02:43And then on the right-hand side of the steering wheel

0:02:43 > 0:02:44there are two paddles.

0:02:44 > 0:02:46The top one being up, the bottom one down.

0:02:46 > 0:02:48And then a hand clutch just to pull away.

0:02:48 > 0:02:51That's basically the controls that we've come up with and what is

0:02:51 > 0:02:52working best for me so far.

0:02:52 > 0:02:55To be honest, it's been the most calm place since my accident,

0:02:55 > 0:02:58being back behind the wheel of a racing car.

0:02:58 > 0:03:01That's where I've wanted to be since my accident and to get

0:03:01 > 0:03:04back behind the wheel, I just feel completely in control

0:03:04 > 0:03:06and just relax when I'm out there.

0:03:06 > 0:03:09It's a bit surreal but I'm sure when it comes to that first

0:03:09 > 0:03:16racing weekend in April, we'll be ready for the challenge ahead of us.

0:03:16 > 0:03:18good luck.

0:03:18 > 0:03:20good luck.

0:03:20 > 0:03:22Here on Newsround, we love hearing about you, so we've travelled

0:03:22 > 0:03:25all over the country so you can tell us your amazing stories.

0:03:25 > 0:03:26This week it's Edith's turn.

0:03:26 > 0:03:28She explains why she wants to be a?farmer

0:03:28 > 0:03:34when she grows up.?

0:03:34 > 0:03:37I'm Edith and I'm nine years old and I live on a farm.

0:03:37 > 0:03:40We have horses, cows, chickens and we've got 1000 sheep.

0:03:40 > 0:03:43The worst part about living on a farm would be

0:03:43 > 0:03:46mucking the animals out.

0:03:46 > 0:03:50It is quite hard and it doesn't smell very nice.

0:03:50 > 0:03:53And it is really far to get to the shops

0:03:53 > 0:04:00and your friends' houses.

0:04:00 > 0:04:03The best thing about living on a farm is you have got loads

0:04:03 > 0:04:05of space to play on.

0:04:05 > 0:04:07And there are lots of animals to play with.

0:04:07 > 0:04:12I have eight other siblings.

0:04:12 > 0:04:16Raven, Ruben, Miles and then there's me.

0:04:16 > 0:04:21Violet, Sydney, Anis, Clemmie and Nancy.

0:04:21 > 0:04:26There's always someone to play with but sometimes your brothers

0:04:26 > 0:04:31and sisters steal one or two things of yours.

0:04:31 > 0:04:34My main job on the farm is to feed a calf called Joy.

0:04:34 > 0:04:39She is very excitable.

0:04:39 > 0:04:43We bottle-feed her milk and we give her hay and cake.

0:04:43 > 0:04:46My mum is my role model because I want to be

0:04:46 > 0:04:48like her when I am older.

0:04:48 > 0:04:50I want to be a farmer when I'm older.

0:04:50 > 0:04:57She's a good lass.

0:04:57 > 0:04:58Not long now until Mother's Day.

0:04:58 > 0:05:00It's not this Sunday but next.

0:05:00 > 0:05:04So we want you to head to Newsround online and tell us your special

0:05:04 > 0:05:06stories about your mum, grandma, step-mum, aunt

0:05:06 > 0:05:12or any another important woman in your life.

0:05:12 > 0:05:15And we are following adventurer Steve back sure who is taking on one

0:05:15 > 0:05:19of the scariest challenges of his life. He is trying to climb huge

0:05:19 > 0:05:22mountain in Switzerland. We are following the build-up to his

0:05:22 > 0:05:28adventure at Newsround online. Take a look at his video diaries.

0:05:28 > 0:05:30And finally parts of the UK will feel colder

0:05:30 > 0:05:33than the Arctic Circle this week, which could mean snow.

0:05:33 > 0:05:38But maybe not enough to do this.

0:05:38 > 0:05:41These kids in Iowa in the US took part in the annual

0:05:41 > 0:05:42home-made sled race.

0:05:42 > 0:05:44Each sled has to be made out of cardboard.

0:05:44 > 0:05:48Even the local police took part in the race.

0:05:48 > 0:05:52Never mind the Winter Olympics!

0:05:52 > 0:05:56That is where the competition is that!

0:05:56 > 0:05:57That's it from the Newsround team.

0:05:57 > 0:05:58Thanks for watching.

0:05:58 > 0:06:01Martin's back with today's stories when you get back from school.

0:06:01 > 0:06:02See you!
