0:00:04 > 0:00:04Good morning.

0:00:04 > 0:00:06I'm Hayley with all the latest stories.

0:00:06 > 0:00:09Here's what's coming up.

0:00:09 > 0:00:14How virtual reality is bringing a disaster zone to life.

0:00:14 > 0:00:16And what the Tottenham result means for Leicester's

0:00:16 > 0:00:18Premier League dream.

0:00:27 > 0:00:30First this morning, junior doctors across England aren't turning up

0:00:30 > 0:00:33to work today and tomorrow.

0:00:33 > 0:00:35They are protesting or striking because of a row

0:00:35 > 0:00:37with the government.

0:00:37 > 0:00:40I've been looking into what's going on.

0:00:40 > 0:00:43Junior doctors in England are striking because they are unhappy

0:00:43 > 0:00:44with government plans to change their pay

0:00:44 > 0:00:51and working hours.

0:00:51 > 0:00:54The government says it wants to improve hospital services

0:00:54 > 0:00:56at weekends, but many doctors believe the changes are unfair

0:00:56 > 0:01:01and will affect patient safety.

0:01:01 > 0:01:04The row has been going on for years and neither side can agree

0:01:04 > 0:01:07on a deal.

0:01:07 > 0:01:10This is the fifth strike this year but the first one to affect accident

0:01:10 > 0:01:13and emergency departments.

0:01:13 > 0:01:17Thousands of appointments and operations have been cancelled.

0:01:17 > 0:01:20But more senior doctors are stepping in to make sure those

0:01:20 > 0:01:25who need care can get it.

0:01:25 > 0:01:29Leicester are now just one win away from the Premier League title

0:01:29 > 0:01:33after Tottenham could only manage a draw against West Brom last night.

0:01:33 > 0:01:37Craig Dawson equalised for West Brom in the second-half after netting

0:01:37 > 0:01:39an own goal in the first.

0:01:39 > 0:01:43It means Spurs are now seven points behind the Foxes

0:01:43 > 0:01:46with three games left to play.

0:01:46 > 0:01:50Mathematically it is possible and we need to believe.

0:01:50 > 0:01:52Nothing to say, nothing to complain.

0:01:52 > 0:01:56Only that we need to be strong in our mind and try now

0:01:56 > 0:01:59to prepare the next game.

0:01:59 > 0:02:02Imagine a city left deserted for 30 years.

0:02:02 > 0:02:04Well that's what happened after a nuclear disaster

0:02:04 > 0:02:07in Ukraine in Eastern Europe.

0:02:07 > 0:02:11Scientists have spent a week inside the exclusion zone,

0:02:11 > 0:02:13where nobody lives, taking pictures.

0:02:13 > 0:02:16So now everyone can experience a virtual look around the Chernobyl

0:02:16 > 0:02:18nuclear power plant.

0:02:18 > 0:02:22Leah's been to check it out.

0:02:22 > 0:02:24The Six O'Clock News from the BBC.

0:02:24 > 0:02:28The cloud of radiation from Chernobyl power station.

0:02:28 > 0:02:33It was the world's worst ever nuclear accident.

0:02:33 > 0:02:3730 years ago, part of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant exploded.

0:02:37 > 0:02:40It released harmful radiation into the air

0:02:40 > 0:02:43in Ukraine in Eastern Europe.

0:02:43 > 0:02:47People can't touch, smell or even taste radiation but if there's

0:02:47 > 0:02:52lots of it around someone, it can be dangerous.

0:02:52 > 0:02:57This material was spread for miles and nearly 100,000 people had

0:02:57 > 0:02:59to leave their homes because of the danger

0:02:59 > 0:03:00to their health.

0:03:00 > 0:03:03A large no-go zone was set up in the area to stop people

0:03:03 > 0:03:08from staying there and Chernobyl became a ghost town.

0:03:08 > 0:03:12Even now people aren't allowed to live there.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15And now kids from across the UK are getting the chance to see

0:03:15 > 0:03:19what life is like inside the disaster zone now using one

0:03:19 > 0:03:25of those, a virtual reality headset and it's not what you think.

0:03:25 > 0:03:27I also saw a few animals that walked around.

0:03:27 > 0:03:29The buildings.

0:03:29 > 0:03:31Different animals, different trees, they changed all the time.

0:03:31 > 0:03:33What did you make of it?

0:03:33 > 0:03:35I thought it was very interesting and very fun.

0:03:35 > 0:03:37It's very realistic and it's quite interesting to see

0:03:37 > 0:03:41all the different sites.

0:03:41 > 0:03:44As I was looking around, I turned around and I saw a bear

0:03:44 > 0:03:45and that really shocked me.

0:03:45 > 0:03:48It's really interesting and everyone should know about it because it's

0:03:48 > 0:03:50a disaster as well.

0:03:50 > 0:03:51It's really good.

0:03:51 > 0:03:55It's an amazing experience.

0:03:55 > 0:03:59It actually felt like I was there.

0:03:59 > 0:04:02Although people were forced to leave because of the radiation,

0:04:02 > 0:04:03the area's wild animal population is booming.

0:04:03 > 0:04:07It's now home to wolves, wild horses and wild boar.

0:04:07 > 0:04:09It was just remarkable to see how much is there.

0:04:09 > 0:04:12The wildlife is thriving, and we thought that after this

0:04:12 > 0:04:14fallout that it would be to the complete

0:04:14 > 0:04:16detriment of animals.

0:04:16 > 0:04:18Virtual reality is a game changer for scientists because it just

0:04:18 > 0:04:20allows people to come into the places where

0:04:20 > 0:04:24they were which otherwise wouldn't be possible.

0:04:24 > 0:04:28Chernobyl will be too dangerous to live in for hundreds of years

0:04:28 > 0:04:31but, with virtual reality, people can catch a glimpse

0:04:31 > 0:04:37of the life returning in the area.

0:04:37 > 0:04:39And finally a story that is truly quackers!

0:04:39 > 0:04:43These tiny ducklings have been rescued from a drain by firefighters

0:04:43 > 0:04:45in the American state of Oklahoma.

0:04:45 > 0:04:48The team had to climb into the small roadside drain,

0:04:48 > 0:04:51but after some good teamwork, the little cuties were

0:04:51 > 0:04:54reunited with their mum and waddled off to safety.

0:04:54 > 0:04:55Well done, guys.

0:04:55 > 0:04:57That's all from me.

0:04:57 > 0:04:58Newsround's back right here in half an hour.

0:04:58 > 0:05:00Bye!
