:00:07. > :00:09.and you're watching Newsround. We've got all of today's top stories

:00:09. > :00:14.including the old Apple computer worth hundreds of thousands of

:00:14. > :00:24.pounds. We've got driving of the more daring

:00:24. > :00:27.

:00:27. > :00:32.rain has caused severe flooding in southern Texas, forcing some people

:00:32. > :00:35.to climb onto their roofs to escape the rising water levels. Emergency

:00:35. > :00:41.services have spent the day rescuing residents who were trapped by the

:00:42. > :00:44.floods in San Antonio. The American President, Barack

:00:45. > :00:50.Obama, will visit Moore in Oklahoma later six days after it was

:00:50. > :00:55.devastated by a huge tornado. The President will meet with people who

:00:55. > :00:58.live in the city where 24 people were killed. He has promised to help

:00:58. > :01:02.rebuild it. Two years ago the town of Joplin in neighbouring State

:01:02. > :01:06.Missouri was also hit badly by a tornado and people there have been

:01:06. > :01:10.offering advice for the survivors in Moore. It will not be better

:01:10. > :01:14.tomorrow. It won't be better two or three months from now. You will

:01:14. > :01:18.realise you were better after the tornado than you were before because

:01:18. > :01:23.it makes you realise that the little things don't matter anymore.

:01:23. > :01:27.A great community. It is painful initially, but I know they will get

:01:27. > :01:29.through it. There are worries for lots of the

:01:29. > :01:33.wildflowers growing alongside our roads. The conservation group,

:01:33. > :01:42.Plantlife, says verges are being cut too often which also has an effect

:01:42. > :01:48.on habitats for wildlife. They've asked councils to chop less often.

:01:48. > :01:54.You maybe used to your Apple Macs looking like this. Check out this

:01:54. > :02:00.contraption. It might look like a piece of junk, but it is one of the

:02:00. > :02:08.last re maining maining orange Apple computers. There are thought to be

:02:08. > :02:11.six left in working order. It sold at auction for 230,000,000.

:02:11. > :02:14.Thousands of people are in Liverpool this weekend to remember a very old

:02:14. > :02:17.and very important sea battle that helped the people of Britain and

:02:17. > :02:20.Europe survive the Second World War. Many of the boats involved were

:02:20. > :02:25.trying to get to Liverpool to offload supplies. Some sailors from

:02:25. > :02:29.that time will be there. Here's what it's all about.

:02:29. > :02:32.It's known as the longest battle of the Second World War. The Battle of

:02:32. > :02:39.the Atlantic lasted for six years and took place, not on land, but in

:02:39. > :02:41.the Atlantic Ocean. Boats left the UK to sail to America where they

:02:41. > :02:46.would collect important supplies like food, fuel and military

:02:46. > :02:54.equipment to help Europe to survive the war. German forces would attack

:02:54. > :02:57.the boats, to try and stop vital supplies from reaching the UK.

:02:57. > :03:02.days across the Atlantic and then seven days 20 come back. The only

:03:02. > :03:07.reward if you survived the crossing is the fact you would be able to do

:03:07. > :03:10.it again. The UK was reliant on that as was the rest of Europe. The

:03:10. > :03:14.campaign couldn't have gone ahead unless we were successful.

:03:14. > :03:17.Tens of thousands of lives were lost in the battle and around 3,000 ships

:03:17. > :03:19.were sunk. The anniversary today marks 70 years since the end of one

:03:19. > :03:27.of the fiercest battles when Germany's submarine fleet suffered

:03:27. > :03:32.heavy losses in the Atlantic. Conditions were horrendous. Cold

:03:32. > :03:36.water coming over the ship. The threat of U-boats, the threat of

:03:36. > :03:39.attack. The threat of sinking. We have a lot to thank the veterans

:03:39. > :03:42.for. One of Formula One's most famous

:03:42. > :03:45.races, the Monaco Grand Prix is underway. Taking to the grid for the

:03:45. > :03:48.first time as an F1 driver was 22-year-old Max Chilton, who this

:03:48. > :03:55.season joined the likes Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton as another

:03:55. > :04:05.Brit on the circuit. Before the race, Nel met Max at Team Marussia.

:04:05. > :04:06.

:04:06. > :04:09.Max, where are you right now? What is this this place? This is the

:04:09. > :04:13.Marussia factory. They build the cars from scratch. They plan on a

:04:13. > :04:19.computer and turn it into a thing that does 200mph on a circuit which

:04:19. > :04:24.I'm lucky enough to drive. I started when I was a kid and gone

:04:24. > :04:31.through the ranks and I'm only 22 and I am ne in my first year of

:04:31. > :04:35.Formula One. OK, so this is the steering wheel. This is where I

:04:35. > :04:39.control this car from. On a. A.normal road car, you have a clutch

:04:39. > :04:45.and here we have two of them and you are controlled by your fingers and

:04:45. > :04:51.we have our gear shifters which we tend to do 50 to 70 gear changes a

:04:51. > :04:59.lap. What tyre you are on, gearbox setting. How many gear shifts we can

:04:59. > :05:04.do and how quickly. The nearest thing to explain it to is a

:05:04. > :05:08.rollercoaster. We can experience up to four to five G. That's your body

:05:08. > :05:12.weight times four or five being applied against you. We can't take

:05:12. > :05:15.it, we have to steer and look through the corner and use our legs

:05:15. > :05:20.to accelerate and brake and concentrate at the same time as

:05:20. > :05:24.being pushed against. It is challenging. Max's next race is in

:05:24. > :05:31.Monaco andle he will be testing out his new car and he has been giving

:05:31. > :05:38.me hints and tips all day. So hopefully one day I will be as good

:05:38. > :05:42.as he is! Come on, Max! Max is in 16th place in Monaco and

:05:42. > :05:52.if he wants to make his way up the grid he best not take driving tips

:05:52. > :05:55.from this lot! Car surfing or side-walk skiing is a
