:00:08. > :00:13.Surprise results in the European Elections, and what they could mean.

:00:14. > :00:16.Plus, the pricey pool that's had a pretty impressive makeover.

:00:17. > :00:26.Let's start with the results coming in from the European Elections.

:00:27. > :00:28.The headlines are that the UK Independence Party has so far

:00:29. > :00:31.won more seats than Britain's traditional big parties, something

:00:32. > :00:36.Votes are still being counted in Scotland and Northern Ireland,

:00:37. > :00:39.but UKIP's leader Nigel Farage has already described the results

:00:40. > :00:42.as "the most extraordinary in a hundred years."

:00:43. > :00:45.The BBC's Political Correspondent Chris Mason joins us now to explain

:00:46. > :01:06.The people's army of UKIP has spoken tonight and delivered just about the

:01:07. > :01:09.most extraordinary result that Britain has seen in 100 years and I

:01:10. > :01:15.am proud to have led them to that. Contrast that with is of defeat. The

:01:16. > :01:23.Liberal Democrats have almost been wiped out. Neither Labour nor the

:01:24. > :01:27.Tories had the back to stand up to UKIP. We did and we are being

:01:28. > :01:33.punished, but we would do it all over again. Labour have eaten the

:01:34. > :01:37.Conservatives, but only narrowly. A result that will worry the party.

:01:38. > :01:43.And they are now pondering what on earth to do about UKIP. We will

:01:44. > :01:47.respond by making clear that we can fix the relationship between Britain

:01:48. > :01:54.and Europe, that weekend whether real change and give the policy and

:01:55. > :02:02.referendum. -- that we can bring about change. People are disaffected

:02:03. > :02:04.and they are using their voting in the European Parliamentary elections

:02:05. > :02:11.to express their dissatisfaction with politics. But it is photographs

:02:12. > :02:14.like these which tell the story of the night. Pausing for a picture has

:02:15. > :02:19.never been easier for UKIP. In other news, American President

:02:20. > :02:21.Barack Obama made a surprise Forces have been in the country

:02:22. > :02:27.for more than 10 years but are due Obama told soldiers that

:02:28. > :02:31.the war there could come to He's trying to agree a deal to

:02:32. > :02:36.keep a small amount of troops there to train Afghan security forces to

:02:37. > :02:39.keep the peace in future. Next, to the swimming pool in France

:02:40. > :02:42.that's been brought back from But don't dive into buying

:02:43. > :02:46.your tickets just yet - it's The massive makeover

:02:47. > :02:49.transformed it from this... After campaigning to restore

:02:50. > :03:07.the historic pool locals celebrated It was the place to be seen in the

:03:08. > :03:15.fashionable city of Paris, France. The great and good game to do pool

:03:16. > :03:21.to do a few laps. To lounge on the sandy beach and in the winter it

:03:22. > :03:27.turned into an ice rink. But in 1989, after 60 years of use, and

:03:28. > :03:35.falling into disrepair, the pool closed its doors to the public. It

:03:36. > :03:38.has been transformed back to its gory days. Local people campaigned

:03:39. > :03:45.and raised the money to get the building restored and it's all been

:03:46. > :03:50.designed to look like a cruise ship. The restoration has brought

:03:51. > :03:54.back great memories for this 87-year-old, who has even written

:03:55. > :03:59.about the famous cool. It was a marvel. Every year they would get an

:04:00. > :04:09.ice rink on top of the summer slurring people -- the summer

:04:10. > :04:14.summing pool. It is open again for visitors, but not everyone was able

:04:15. > :04:24.to jump in on the opening week. With the summing pool tickets costing 100

:04:25. > :04:33.it is an expensive swim foremost. The rivalry between Lewis Hamilton

:04:34. > :04:37.and Rosberg has been hotting up. Finally, the semi-finalists
