:00:24. > :00:28.Hello guys. This is Newsround with Ricky and Leah. You're in the right

:00:28. > :00:37.place for Wednesday's big stories including some of this. Could there

:00:38. > :00:47.be an eighth Harry Potter? We hear from JK Rowling. Find out how Pam

:00:48. > :00:48.

:00:49. > :00:51.Persian Gulf your pooch isn't always perfect. -- Pam pering your

:00:51. > :00:55.pooch isn't always perfect. First though there's only been one story

:00:55. > :00:58.across the country this week - the weather. The worst September storms

:00:58. > :01:00.for 30 years have battered the UK. For a second day people are having

:01:01. > :01:04.to deal with flooded homes and rivers breaking their banks. The

:01:04. > :01:14.north of England is one of the worst affected places. Joe's in the

:01:14. > :01:20.village of Newburn near Newcastle. What's the latest there? This used

:01:20. > :01:22.to be a road. The water has started to go away, but left all the mud

:01:22. > :01:27.and rubble. Tonnes of it. Completely ruined transport around

:01:28. > :01:32.this village and all day there have been trucks coming in and filling

:01:32. > :01:42.must have seen five or six trucks and there's still a load to go.

:01:42. > :01:44.

:01:44. > :01:48.It's not just here. As you can see, over there. The foundations have

:01:48. > :01:51.been torn away. The area was evacuated and all the people have

:01:51. > :01:55.been moved away, but the emergency services are keeping a watch on

:01:55. > :02:00.that in case it collapses. Also, look at this car here. Completely

:02:00. > :02:10.trapped by all the mud. It goes to show how quick these things can

:02:10. > :02:12.

:02:12. > :02:15.happen. It's not just down here that's actually causing problems.

:02:15. > :02:18.Just over 15 minutes down the road from here, the rain caused loads of

:02:18. > :02:28.problems in Newcastle. Carlos' school was one of the schools that

:02:28. > :02:29.

:02:29. > :02:35.was closed yesterday. It was soaking wet. They had to box up

:02:35. > :02:40.everything to make it dry up. It was -- I was also very disappointed

:02:40. > :02:48.because we were going on a trip, but unfortunately they cancelled it.

:02:48. > :02:51.That's because of the torrential rain. It's not just the north aast

:02:51. > :02:54.of England that's been affected. Parts of Yorkshire were also hit.

:02:54. > :02:57.The River Wharfe in York burst its banks, closing roads and and more

:02:57. > :03:00.than 2,000 homes and business were warned they could be flooded. The

:03:00. > :03:03.problems aren't over yet. Parts of the south of England could see lots

:03:03. > :03:13.of rain over the next few days. The Environment Agency has warned

:03:13. > :03:15.

:03:15. > :03:20.people there could be floods in Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire.

:03:20. > :03:24.There are those who are enjoying this. This bodyboarder got a lift

:03:25. > :03:29.home. Don't try this in the street where you have floodwaters, but it

:03:29. > :03:35.proves how deep the waters are. The clean-up will continue for a few

:03:35. > :03:45.days and we'll keep you updated. Joe, thank you very much. The sheer

:03:45. > :03:47.

:03:47. > :03:49.devastation is pretty amazing. Now take a look at this. It's a new

:03:49. > :03:52.image from the super powerful Hubble telescope. It gives us a

:03:52. > :03:55.glimpse into deep space, revealing galaxies that formed nearly 14

:03:55. > :03:57.billion years ago. This image is made up of ten years of space

:03:57. > :04:00.searching by the Hubble telescope. Astronomers says it shows over

:04:00. > :04:03.5,000 more galaxies than we've seen before, giving the deepest ever

:04:03. > :04:09.view of space. Now to a big scientific voyage around the world

:04:10. > :04:16.to find out more about the depths of our oceans. It should tell us

:04:16. > :04:21.more about how our oceans work and how healthy they are. This is

:04:21. > :04:25.plankton, plants and animals that drift through our seas and oceans.

:04:25. > :04:29.They hold vital information about our planet. For the last two-and-a-

:04:29. > :04:34.half years scientists have taken this boat around the world's seas

:04:34. > :04:41.and oceans on an epic 70,000-mile trip. Now they're in London and I'm

:04:41. > :04:44.here to speak to some of the We have discovered something like

:04:44. > :04:49.one million new species. They're hoping that studying them will help

:04:49. > :04:55.them work out what affect climate change is having on life beneath

:04:55. > :04:58.the waves. Microscopic organisms are really important for us and for

:04:58. > :05:02.the well-being of the planet, but every second breath that you

:05:02. > :05:06.breathe you are breathing oxygen that comes from them. It's like an

:05:06. > :05:10.invisible forest. That's not the only discovery the expedition has

:05:10. > :05:14.made. In the waters around the Antarctic they discovered high

:05:14. > :05:19.levels of very tiny pieces of broken down plastic. We were

:05:19. > :05:23.surprised to see so much plastics so far from where we live. It's

:05:23. > :05:30.obviously coming from fishermen's neets and also coming from our rub

:05:30. > :05:34.-- nets and also from our rubbish and they get eaten by seabirds and

:05:34. > :05:40.fish and whales and they release poisons and then we eat the fish

:05:40. > :05:42.and we get them back into our bodies too. There's no rest for

:05:42. > :05:46.these scientists. They'll been showing off their work in London

:05:46. > :05:56.and in France and then it's off to the Arctic to do some more

:05:56. > :06:02.

:06:02. > :06:05.exploring. Moving on, and if you're a Hogwarts fan - then listen up. In

:06:05. > :06:13.an exclusive interview with the BBC, Harry Potter writer JK Rowling has

:06:13. > :06:18.hinted there might be more stories from the wizard world to come.

:06:18. > :06:22.had a fabulous idea I would oh do it. I don't want to pick up odds

:06:22. > :06:29.and ends and glue them together and think we can sell this. It would be

:06:29. > :06:34.- it would make a mockery of what those books were to me. I'm not

:06:34. > :06:37.sure we'll see one. Now it's not unusual to see celebrities carrying

:06:37. > :06:41.their miniature pets in their handbags or under their arms. But

:06:41. > :06:43.the charity Battersea Dogs and Cats Home says it's worried about the

:06:43. > :06:50.trend. It's seeing more and more animals handed in because owners

:06:50. > :06:55.can't cope with their pampered pooches bad behaviour. Some of us

:06:55. > :07:02.may enjoy the Pam pering and grooming, but it can turn anyone

:07:03. > :07:09.into a diva. This is princess. She was handed into Battersea and knows

:07:09. > :07:12.just what it's its like to be a pampered pooch. She came in, in her

:07:12. > :07:16.own handbag with her own wardrobe. Because of that, she had been

:07:16. > :07:20.carried around and she wasn't used to being on the floor and scared of

:07:20. > :07:24.dogs and new people. How is the way that princess has been brought up

:07:24. > :07:29.affected her? Because she is not used to things and quite scared, it

:07:29. > :07:32.means that she does tend - she was snapy when she came in, and if

:07:32. > :07:37.something frightened her she would snap and she wasn't used to

:07:37. > :07:40.anything apart from being carried around. We are used to see dogs

:07:40. > :07:45.carried by celebrities like handbags, but the charity says it's

:07:45. > :07:48.seen a number of minutey dogs coming through the doors go up by

:07:48. > :07:52.half this year. We are seeing a massive rise. We have getting so

:07:52. > :08:00.much more toy breeds in. They all have the behaviour problems and

:08:01. > :08:04.they are all quite snapy. Everyone that is fine, but when it goes too

:08:04. > :08:08.far and they're treated like babies, then they don't walk on the floor,

:08:08. > :08:11.they're always carried and it's OK a little bit, but I think it's when

:08:11. > :08:17.it goes too far. The home is advising people to do research

:08:17. > :08:23.before they buy a dog and to remember a dog is a dog, and not a

:08:23. > :08:28.fashion accessory. Thank you very much. My dog is a Yorkshire terrier

:08:28. > :08:32.miniature and she doesn't like to go out when it's raining, but we

:08:32. > :08:35.take her. Lady Gaga has hit back against people who have criticised

:08:35. > :08:40.her for putting on weight. She wrote online, "I am proud at any

:08:40. > :08:47.size. This is who I am. When I eat and am healthy and not so worried

:08:47. > :08:51.about my looks, I'm happy." Good for you. On Friday we're looking at
