0:00:11 > 0:00:12Hi, guys.
0:00:12 > 0:00:14Martin here with your afternoon Newsround.
0:00:14 > 0:00:15First up, the timer is close to pinging
0:00:15 > 0:00:19on the Great British Bake Off.
0:00:19 > 0:00:22Tonight sees the grand finale on BBC One.
0:00:22 > 0:00:23So who will be crowned the series winner?
0:00:24 > 0:00:27Well, with this year's Royal Theme, Andrew, Jane and Candice will be
0:00:27 > 0:00:32getting their whisking spoons and hoping it's them.
0:00:32 > 0:00:36Well, Junior Bake Off champ Amari dropped into Newsround HQ to give
0:00:36 > 0:00:39us her take on the final three!
0:00:39 > 0:00:47I'm jumping between Candice and Jane.
0:00:47 > 0:00:50They're all good bakers, but I think it will be one of them.
0:00:50 > 0:00:53You have to be a good baker.
0:00:53 > 0:00:55But it's also the personality and your creative skills
0:00:55 > 0:01:01to go with it as well.
0:01:01 > 0:01:03You just need to be calm.
0:01:03 > 0:01:06I've learnt a few tips about baking and I would like to try
0:01:06 > 0:01:08and make what they've made.
0:01:08 > 0:01:11Now, we asked who you think should be crowned Bake Off Champion.
0:01:11 > 0:01:12Chloe says...
0:01:12 > 0:01:14"Candice should win.
0:01:14 > 0:01:16I loved her gingerbread pub and her marzipan peacock."
0:01:16 > 0:01:21Rory wants Andrew to win because he loved his churros.
0:01:21 > 0:01:24Isabella is in Team Jane "because she pushes herself".
0:01:24 > 0:01:26And Lucy just says, "It's too hard to decide".
0:01:26 > 0:01:28I know how you feel, Lucy.
0:01:28 > 0:01:30Thanks for all your comments, guys!
0:01:30 > 0:01:35Now, when it comes to pollution, you might think of things down
0:01:35 > 0:01:38here on the ground like car fumes and factories, but to find
0:01:38 > 0:01:40out how clean the air actually is in our cities,
0:01:40 > 0:01:42scientists are taking to the skies.
0:01:42 > 0:01:45And I went along with them.
0:01:48 > 0:01:53This is one of the most advanced scientific aircraft in the world.
0:01:53 > 0:01:56It is this plane's job to measure the amount of air pollution
0:01:56 > 0:01:59there is in cities across the UK, and I'm about to hop on board
0:01:59 > 0:02:07from East Midlands to Manchester to see how it works.
0:02:11 > 0:02:14On the outside, it might look like an ordinary aeroplane,
0:02:14 > 0:02:18but on the inside, it's a high-tech chemistry lab.
0:02:18 > 0:02:23On board, I spoke to one of the lead scientists to find out more.
0:02:23 > 0:02:25James, what are we doing on this aircraft today?
0:02:25 > 0:02:29We're flying off the coast of Liverpool and Manchester.
0:02:29 > 0:02:31The wind is currently blowing all the pollution that gets emitted
0:02:31 > 0:02:36from cars and factories and things.
0:02:36 > 0:02:39It's blowing it over the sea and we're crossing that plume
0:02:39 > 0:02:41of pollution, trying to measure how much is in it.
0:02:41 > 0:02:43Air pollution is bad for us.
0:02:43 > 0:02:46What we're doing here is trying to understand better where this
0:02:46 > 0:02:49pollution is coming from, how much is being emitted and then,
0:02:49 > 0:02:52going forward, how to better inform people as to how we can improve
0:02:52 > 0:03:01the air quality in our cities.
0:03:01 > 0:03:04James, how unique is this aircraft in what it does?
0:03:04 > 0:03:05It's the only one in the UK.
0:03:05 > 0:03:07It's the largest one in Europe.
0:03:07 > 0:03:08And it's pretty much state-of-the-art.
0:03:08 > 0:03:10Compared to other aircraft around the world, it is
0:03:10 > 0:03:17pretty much the best.
0:03:17 > 0:03:20We've got a few bits of equipment out hanging beneath the wings that
0:03:20 > 0:03:22measure things like clouds as we go through them.
0:03:22 > 0:03:26And we've also got quite a lot of equipment inside the aircraft cabin.
0:03:26 > 0:03:28The air is being sucked through and our instruments
0:03:28 > 0:03:30are providing a measurement of the different air pollutants.
0:03:30 > 0:03:32There is a lot of high-tech equipment being flown around
0:03:32 > 0:03:41in this aircraft cabin.
0:03:41 > 0:03:44Now, Manchester United face Manchester City in a League Cup
0:03:44 > 0:03:45derby match later on.
0:03:45 > 0:03:47But here's the real Match of the Day.
0:03:47 > 0:03:49Two teams of robots competing in the final of
0:03:49 > 0:03:51the RoboCup Challenge in Beijing, in China.
0:03:51 > 0:03:57Check it out.
0:03:57 > 0:04:02Welcome to the RoboCup Challenge in Beijing, China.
0:04:02 > 0:04:04Four teams competed in the tournaments and robots
0:04:04 > 0:04:07from Australia and the USA went head-to-head in the grand final.
0:04:07 > 0:04:09They're not controlled by humans but, instead,
0:04:09 > 0:04:12the robots can connect to a wireless network and can
0:04:12 > 0:04:12communicate with each other.
0:04:12 > 0:04:14They make decisions by themselves during the match.
0:04:14 > 0:04:17Each team can have up to five robots on the field and substitutions
0:04:17 > 0:04:27are allowed if a robot overheats or gets injured.
0:04:27 > 0:04:28Final score - USA 7, Australia 3.
0:04:28 > 0:04:32Well played!
0:04:32 > 0:04:35Now, after getting in hot water when he complained about fans
0:04:35 > 0:04:37screaming too much at a concert in Manchester this week,
0:04:37 > 0:04:40Justin Bieber has been keeping it cool in the ice rink.
0:04:40 > 0:04:42The pop star dropped in to join training at the Manchester
0:04:42 > 0:04:43Storm Ice Hockey team.
0:04:43 > 0:04:45And he wasn't just making up the numbers, check
0:04:45 > 0:04:53out his goalscoring skills!
0:04:53 > 0:04:54Amazing.
0:04:54 > 0:04:55That's all from me.
0:04:55 > 0:04:57Newsround's back at 7:40am tomorrow with Leah.
