:00:00. > :00:00.Ricky here, with your evening update. As this soaking, storming
:00:07. > :00:10.January continues, flooding has hit parts of the UK, with more rain on
:00:11. > :00:13.the way. But in Wales, the storms have
:00:14. > :00:22.brought some interesting things to the surface - shipwrecks. This is
:00:23. > :00:25.Newsround. First, flooding continues to cause
:00:26. > :00:29.massive problems in parts of the UK, and for some people, the nightmare
:00:30. > :00:32.is just getting worse. 14 flood warnings are in place throughout
:00:33. > :00:36.England, which means flooding is expected. Most of those warnings are
:00:37. > :00:40.in south-west England, where the county of Somerset has seen huge
:00:41. > :00:45.amounts of water having to be pumped off the land and into rivers to
:00:46. > :00:48.drain away. Many people there are still trying to cope with the
:00:49. > :00:55.effects of the flooding at the start of the year, and more rain is
:00:56. > :00:59.forecast over the coming days. A lot of people who live on the Somerset
:01:00. > :01:02.Levels regard those rivers as being like the arteries in the human body.
:01:03. > :01:08.They say they have got clogged up over the last few years on and needs
:01:09. > :01:11.be cleared out so that the whole system can function healthily.
:01:12. > :01:15.As flooding is covering up lots of parts of England, in Wales, it is
:01:16. > :01:17.what the bad weather has uncovered that everyone is talking about.
:01:18. > :01:20.Three shipwrecks have been exposed on Carmarthenshire's beach after the
:01:21. > :01:24.January storms battered the coast, shifting sand. It is thought that
:01:25. > :01:27.they are from 200 or 300 years ago, when it was a popular, but
:01:28. > :01:31.treacherous shipping route. Next to outer space, where China's
:01:32. > :01:35.moon rover Yutu has hit a spot of trouble. Jade Rabbit, as it is also
:01:36. > :01:41.known, has experienced mechanical problems. The rover arrived on the
:01:42. > :01:44.moon's surface in December and was expected to operate for three months
:01:45. > :01:48.to carry out experiments on the moon's soil. But it is thought that
:01:49. > :01:51.the rocky surface has caused the rover a few difficulties. Now the
:01:52. > :01:58.Chinese space agency need to organise repairs from back here on
:01:59. > :02:03.earth! Spacecraft and mission sent to other worlds have on-board
:02:04. > :02:08.computers which can talk to the computers on earth and communicate
:02:09. > :02:11.problems backwards and forwards. If a problem arises, somebody sitting
:02:12. > :02:16.in a ground station on earth in a space mission control centre can
:02:17. > :02:17.send a repair command up to the spacecraft to hopefully fix the
:02:18. > :02:20.problem remotely. Next, Europe's most active volcano,
:02:21. > :02:24.Mount Etna, has had its first eruption of 2014. Take a look at
:02:25. > :02:28.these awesome pictures. The nearby airport had to close as a safety
:02:29. > :02:31.precaution, but no one had to leave their homes. This comes after a
:02:32. > :02:35.particularly active 2013, a result of a new crater forming on the
:02:36. > :02:38.southeastern side of the volcano. Last up, fancy wading through
:02:39. > :02:43.freezing, muddy water before crawling under barbed wire? Me
:02:44. > :02:46.neither. But some people love it. The weekend saw the annual Tough Guy
:02:47. > :02:52.race in the West Midlands. Competitors also had to run through
:02:53. > :02:55.fire, not something to try at home! Head to the website to see a gallery
:02:56. > :02:58.of how they got on. That's all from me. Newsround is
:02:59. > :03:00.back in the morning.
