:00:29. > :00:31.It's a chance for people to take time to think about the millions

:00:32. > :00:35.of Jewish people and others who were killed by Hitler and his

:00:36. > :00:43.When World War II broke out in 1939, Germany was run

:00:44. > :00:46.Hitler thought Jewish people were inferior,

:00:47. > :00:51.Anti-Jewish laws were passed, Jewish shops had their windows smashed,

:00:52. > :00:58.and Jewish people were forced out of their homes.

:00:59. > :01:00.The Nazis rounded up millions of Jews, as well as disabled people,

:01:01. > :01:03.gay people, and other groups Hitler thought were inferior,

:01:04. > :01:07.and sent them to prisons called concentration camps.

:01:08. > :01:10.Families were split up, forced to do hard physical work,

:01:11. > :01:14.Millions of people were deliberately killed there.

:01:15. > :01:17.It's thought nearly seven out of every ten Jews

:01:18. > :01:23.Some children did manage to escape Nazi Germany.

:01:24. > :01:25.Ruth was one of those who managed to escape.

:01:26. > :01:27.Street by street Jews were cleared, and any moment

:01:28. > :01:34.We opened the door to a woman from the British Embassy

:01:35. > :01:40.She bought the entry visa to Britain, train tickets

:01:41. > :01:42.to get through Germany, through Holland, and

:01:43. > :01:49.Heinz also managed to escape the Holocaust.

:01:50. > :01:59.He tried very hard to get me a trainee post and finally

:02:00. > :02:05.We managed to get visas for our parents and they came,

:02:06. > :02:10.thank God, because four days later war broke out.

:02:11. > :02:12.Every year, people remember those who lost their

:02:13. > :02:16.It helps teach us about these terrible events, and make sure

:02:17. > :02:28.they're not forgotten so that they can never happen again.

:02:31. > :02:40.Tim Peake is going to be heading back into space!

:02:41. > :02:43.Tim made the announcement while showing off the capsule

:02:44. > :02:46.which took him up to the International Space Station, and

:02:47. > :02:50.And the great news is the European Space Agency and the UK

:02:51. > :02:53.are going to be involved in that Space Station programme until 2024,

:02:54. > :02:56.so that gives myself and my other classmates of 2009 a second

:02:57. > :02:58.opportunity to go back to the Space Station.

:02:59. > :03:00.Tim made history last year when he became the first person

:03:01. > :03:03.representing Britain to live on the International Space Station.

:03:04. > :03:05.During the six months he spent orbiting Earth,

:03:06. > :03:07.he became the first British astronaut to do a spacewalk.

:03:08. > :03:09.He ran a marathon up there, he even explained

:03:10. > :03:14.Take the cap off, turn on the fan, and the airflow keeps everything

:03:15. > :03:21.And also, for number two, the airflow does the same thing.

:03:22. > :03:35.I think he's really exciting and quite brave, because he's just

:03:36. > :03:38.got back and he's not seen his family for ages.

:03:39. > :03:42.I think it's going to be a chance for him to do whatever he didn't do

:03:43. > :03:46.So what should he do this time around?

:03:47. > :03:54.I'd like to see him do the dad challenge.

:03:55. > :03:57.I want to see him do a bottle flip and land it, because in space,

:03:58. > :04:00.because of the zero gravity, it might not land, and also it's

:04:01. > :04:04.Well, we know he's going back, but how will he get there?

:04:05. > :04:07.We know he won't be using his old space capsule,

:04:08. > :04:09.that's now sitting in the National Science Museum

:04:10. > :04:12.in London, so you can go and imagine what going into space

:04:13. > :04:15.Tennis now, and Venus Williams says it would be "beautiful"

:04:16. > :04:17.to beat her sister Serena in the Australian Open

:04:18. > :04:22.It'll be the ninth time the two sisters have gone up against each

:04:23. > :04:28.other in a big final, and the first time in eight years.

:04:29. > :04:31.Now, zoo staff are helping this rare sea turtle is on its way to recovery

:04:32. > :04:34.after it got a little bit lost last year.

:04:35. > :04:36.The turtle, called Menai, was found washed up on a beach

:04:37. > :04:38.in Wales in November, and was rescued by wildlife

:04:39. > :04:45.Menai is a rare Olive Ridley turtle, which are usually found in much
