:00:30. > :00:32.gathering in the city They're there to remember the 96

:00:33. > :00:36.football fans who died in a disaster that happened in 1989,

:00:37. > :00:38.the biggest tragedy Later, a special service

:00:39. > :00:56.will be taking place. Hi, Ricky.

:00:57. > :00:58.High. Yes, all day, hundreds and hundreds of people have been coming

:00:59. > :01:05.outside St George 's Hall here in the heart of Liverpool to remember

:01:06. > :01:09.the 96 football fans who lost their lives 27 years ago. Lots of children

:01:10. > :01:12.have been coming down here as well today looking at the candles, and

:01:13. > :01:15.also wrapping their football scarves around the lamp posts. This comes

:01:16. > :01:19.after a big investigation which ended yesterday into how and why

:01:20. > :01:23.these football fans died 27 years ago. But before we find out about

:01:24. > :01:25.that, let's take a look at what happened on that tragic day back in

:01:26. > :01:34.1989. On Saturday the 15th of April, 1989,

:01:35. > :01:39.Liverpool fans arrived at Sheffield Wednesday's Stadium to watch the FA

:01:40. > :01:43.Cup semifinal. Too many fans were let into the stadium, and many of

:01:44. > :01:49.them got caught up in a crush. 96 people died, and hundreds more were

:01:50. > :01:54.injured. Because of this disaster, football stadiums have changed. Fans

:01:55. > :01:59.all have seats, and there are no longer metal fences between the

:02:00. > :02:02.pitch and the stands. This has made football ground is much safer, so a

:02:03. > :02:04.disaster like this could never happen again.

:02:05. > :02:06.The Hillsborough disaster is something a lot of adults

:02:07. > :02:11.Yesterday, a big investigation into how the 96 football fans

:02:12. > :02:20.They found out that it was, of course, something very appalling.

:02:21. > :02:22.It was decided they were unlawfully killed -

:02:23. > :02:24.that means it wasn't an accident - and organisations including

:02:25. > :02:30.the police and ambulance service made mistakes.

:02:31. > :02:35.You can hear the rehearsals going on behind me right now. There is going

:02:36. > :02:39.to be an event commemorating all those football fans who died, but

:02:40. > :02:43.lots of schoolchildren have been coming down here today as well to

:02:44. > :02:46.lay their own wreaths and flowers, and also to leave there and personal

:02:47. > :02:49.messages. This is what some had to say.

:02:50. > :02:57.You didn't deserve this. We all feel for you. We all hope your families

:02:58. > :03:02.are OK. RIP those who died in the tragedy. They are in a happy place.

:03:03. > :03:05.I hope all those who have sadly lost their lives can now rest in piece,

:03:06. > :03:08.knowing that they have justice. My thoughts are with the family is

:03:09. > :03:13.always. You will never walk alone. We

:03:14. > :03:15.weren't around when it happened, but we know everything that has

:03:16. > :03:20.happened, everything behind it. And what everyone has gone through to

:03:21. > :03:22.get to this point. And everyone is overwhelmed and so happy about the

:03:23. > :03:27.outcome. I think it is just something we have

:03:28. > :03:30.all grown up with, knowing about Hillsborough, sort of one of those

:03:31. > :03:33.main events that changed football. Families can be addressed and they

:03:34. > :03:34.can grieve like they were meant to all those years ago.

:03:35. > :03:36.Later on, a special service is happening inside this hall.

:03:37. > :03:39.Remember, you can head to Newsround online to find our full guide

:03:42. > :03:44.in 1989, why it's still important today, and more

:03:45. > :04:00.Great Britain have revealed their kit for the 2016 Rio Olympics

:04:01. > :04:05.It's in red, white and blue, the colours of the Union Flag.

:04:10. > :04:12.Tom Daley modelled the kit at the launch, which marked 100 days

:04:13. > :04:19.Many athletes are still waiting to find out if they'll be wearing
