:00:52. > :01:08.Since 2012, koalas have been listed as a vulnerable species
:01:09. > :01:13.and now their numbers have fallen further.
:01:14. > :01:17.Today, there are fewer than 40,000 left in the wild.
:01:18. > :01:21.Mainly because of things like dog attacks, cars, vanishing habitats.
:01:22. > :01:24.Koalas have declined by 50% in the last 15-20 years.
:01:25. > :01:29.The very area that they want to get in and absolutely hammer is the very
:01:30. > :01:37.area that is the highest koala habitat quality.
:01:38. > :01:40.So, logging and deforestation is a big issue for koala
:01:41. > :01:42.conservationists, but it's not the only problem.
:01:43. > :01:48.Researchers say coastal gum trees, where the koalas live
:01:49. > :01:50.and eat, could be affected by rising sea levels.
:01:51. > :01:52.And if that happens, the tasty leaves of the trees
:01:53. > :02:00.But there are a few ideas people are looking at to protect koalas
:02:01. > :02:08.Like huge koala parks to help those that are at risk and stopping
:02:09. > :02:14.So, hopefully, this will help them do what they normally do -
:02:15. > :02:24.Next, there's just three weeks to go now until the World Para
:02:25. > :02:30.All the big stars will be taking part and we're lucky enough
