:00:29. > :00:31.They're one of Australia's most famous species.

:00:32. > :00:35.But koalas are having a bit of a hard time at the moment

:00:36. > :00:37.at the moment as Ayshah's been finding out.

:00:38. > :00:47.Since 2012, koalas have been listed as a vulnerable species,

:00:48. > :00:51.and now their numbers have fallen further.

:00:52. > :00:55.Today, there are fewer than 40,000 left in the wild.

:00:56. > :01:02.Mainly because of things like dog attacks, cars, vanishing habitats.

:01:03. > :01:06.Koalas have declined by 50% in the last 15 to 20 years.

:01:07. > :01:10.The very area that they want to get in and absolutely hammer

:01:11. > :01:15.is the very area that is the highest koala habitat colony.

:01:16. > :01:18.So logging and deforestation is the big issue

:01:19. > :01:25.Researchers say coastal gum trees where the koalas live

:01:26. > :01:29.and eat could be affected by rising sea levels.

:01:30. > :01:32.If that happens, the tasty leaves of the trees

:01:33. > :01:39.But, there are a few ideas people are looking at to protect koalas

:01:40. > :01:47.Like huge koala parks to help those at risk.

:01:48. > :01:51.And stopping logging in certain areas.

:01:52. > :01:54.So hopefully this will help them do what they normally do.

:01:55. > :02:16.How cute are they? This rocket had a very busy weekend. The SpaceX

:02:17. > :02:19.launched from Florida at the weekend.

:02:20. > :02:20.Getting a satellite into space is a challenge.

:02:21. > :02:26.But it's getting easier and a lot cheaper.

:02:27. > :02:34.This is the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket in action over the weekend.

:02:35. > :02:39.It just completed two missions in 48 hours, delivering ten satellites

:02:40. > :02:44.So what's so special about the Falcon 9 rocket?

:02:45. > :02:47.Well, it can be used time and time again.

:02:48. > :02:56.It is unmanned, once it has released all of its cargo.

:02:57. > :02:59.It can return back to Earth, usually on the landing zone,

:03:00. > :03:02.a floating ship on water like this one.

:03:03. > :03:04.But SpaceX has now started to successfully land

:03:05. > :03:14.The company continues to break boundaries.

:03:15. > :03:22.They even have plans to send tourists around the moon.

:03:23. > :03:25.And good news for the Yellowstone grizzly bear in America.

:03:26. > :03:28.After years of being on the endangered species list,

:03:29. > :03:33.with only 136 left in the wild, their population has risen.

:03:34. > :03:36.Experts believe there are more than 700 now and they will soon

:03:37. > :03:44.be taken off the list of animals in trouble.

:03:45. > :03:48.Next, it's not just the grizzlies who have good news...

:03:49. > :03:49.These birds behind me are called bitterns,

:03:50. > :03:57.and they used to be endangered here in the UK.

:03:58. > :04:00.like the new wildlife reserves, that have been created

:04:01. > :04:02.along the Somerset coast, the bird's numbers are increasing,

:04:03. > :04:05.and we'll be able to enjoy their strange booming call

:04:06. > :04:07.Finally, meet Captain Megan Couto, from Canada.

:04:08. > :04:10.She has become the first female ever to lead the Queen's Guard

:04:11. > :04:14.While women in the British Army now serve in many front line duties,

:04:15. > :04:17.until July last year they were banned from ground close

:04:18. > :04:20.combat roles, so no female officer has served as Captain

:04:21. > :04:25.I'm not sure if this will be symbolic for anybody

:04:26. > :04:32.I know, certainly for myself, it is a great pleasure to be

:04:33. > :04:37.considered an equal of my peers and any one of my peers would be

:04:38. > :04:40.absolutely delighted to be the Captain of the guard here.

:04:41. > :04:42.So I feel equally honoured to be given the opportunity,
