0:00:11 > 0:00:13Hello, everyone.

0:00:13 > 0:00:17It's Naz here with your Saturday afternoon's Newsround.

0:00:17 > 0:00:20After our Olympic success, thousands of clubs across the UK

0:00:20 > 0:00:23have opened their doors today to let people have a go at

0:00:23 > 0:00:24new sports for free.

0:00:24 > 0:00:26And this morning, ITV even turned off all its channels

0:00:26 > 0:00:30for an hour in support!

0:00:30 > 0:00:33The events are called "I Am Team GB" and organisers hope to use our

0:00:33 > 0:00:35Olympic success to inspire everyone to do more sport.

0:00:38 > 0:00:43And if the Olympics has got you in the mood to try something

0:00:43 > 0:00:46new, you can head online and let us know what Olympic sport you'd

0:00:46 > 0:00:51love to have a go at.

0:00:51 > 0:00:53Staying with the Olympics, and here at Newsround we've had

0:00:53 > 0:00:56lots of athletes popping in to visit us.

0:00:56 > 0:00:59We were very lucky to grab a chat with gold medal winners Maddie,

0:00:59 > 0:01:02Kate and Helen from the women's hockey team, and we got some

0:01:02 > 0:01:04hockey players of our own to question them.

0:01:04 > 0:01:05Turns, scores.

0:01:05 > 0:01:06That is the golden goal.

0:01:06 > 0:01:15Great Britain have won the Olympic gold medal.

0:01:15 > 0:01:17This question is for Maddie.

0:01:17 > 0:01:20When you were younger, did you always feel part of the team

0:01:20 > 0:01:21because your training was so different?

0:01:21 > 0:01:23I think so.

0:01:23 > 0:01:25Your team-mates generally make a big effort to keep the goalie involved.

0:01:25 > 0:01:28There are days when you spend time by yourself, you end up singing

0:01:28 > 0:01:33to yourself or keeping yourself entertained but it is a team

0:01:33 > 0:01:36effort and the goalie plays a big role in that.

0:01:36 > 0:01:38When you were younger, did you play any other sports,

0:01:38 > 0:01:41and if so, how did you choose hockey over them?

0:01:41 > 0:01:43When I was really tiny, I did dancing and gymnastics,

0:01:43 > 0:01:44both really badly.

0:01:44 > 0:01:47Then I started playing netball and I swam a lot.

0:01:47 > 0:01:48Me and my sister both went swimming.

0:01:48 > 0:01:51When I went to secondary school, hockey was one of the sports

0:01:51 > 0:01:54that they did, so I did hockey, athletics, netball, tennis.

0:01:54 > 0:01:56But hockey, I loved it.

0:01:56 > 0:01:59I love being part of a team and it was fun.

0:01:59 > 0:02:01Do you have to prepare differently for GB than with

0:02:01 > 0:02:03the England hockey team?

0:02:03 > 0:02:06Essentially it is kind of the same thing.

0:02:06 > 0:02:09We have a GB programme and it is made up of the English

0:02:09 > 0:02:11players, Scottish players, we do not have any Welsh players

0:02:11 > 0:02:14at the moment but we have done in the past and hopefully

0:02:14 > 0:02:17will in the future.

0:02:17 > 0:02:20We have different tournaments that is GB, like the Olympics,

0:02:20 > 0:02:24but the World Cup is for England, and so our coach is able

0:02:24 > 0:02:26to just select the English players and when it is GB,

0:02:26 > 0:02:28he can select the English and Scottish players.

0:02:28 > 0:02:31This question is for Maddie.

0:02:31 > 0:02:34Why is your hockey stick so different to the others?

0:02:34 > 0:02:39I use the same as these guys in normal play, but in

0:02:39 > 0:02:42the penalties, I changed it to a super long 41 inches goalie

0:02:42 > 0:02:45stick with a big head.

0:02:45 > 0:02:48That allows me to get a bigger reach and try and tackle them.

0:02:48 > 0:02:50One more question to ask, please will you sign

0:02:50 > 0:02:51this shirt for us?

0:02:51 > 0:02:56Absolutely.

0:02:56 > 0:02:59Special church services are taking place near the towns affected

0:02:59 > 0:03:02by the earthquake in Italy.

0:03:02 > 0:03:06On Wednesday, a strong quake 65 miles north-east of Rome killed

0:03:06 > 0:03:08more than 270 people, and thousands of homes

0:03:08 > 0:03:13were destroyed.

0:03:13 > 0:03:15Rescue teams are working really hard to help all those affected,

0:03:15 > 0:03:18including the children who live there.

0:03:18 > 0:03:23These pictures show buildings turned to rubble.

0:03:23 > 0:03:29The worst affected places are the towns of Accumoli,

0:03:29 > 0:03:32Amatrice and the village of Pescara del Tronto.

0:03:32 > 0:03:33Police, firefighters and soldiers have been working

0:03:33 > 0:03:37to try to find survivors.

0:03:37 > 0:03:41Lots of children have lost their homes and even their schools.

0:03:41 > 0:03:51The charity Save The Children has been helping those affected.

0:03:52 > 0:03:54TRANSLATION: We have set up a special space for children.

0:03:54 > 0:03:57It is a safe space, a protected space where the children can play,

0:03:57 > 0:03:58draw, read and write fairytales.

0:03:58 > 0:04:01We want to give back to these children some peace, some calm,

0:04:01 > 0:04:03a place where they can feel safe again.

0:04:03 > 0:04:06Strong aftershocks and tremors have followed the earthquake.

0:04:06 > 0:04:09Aftershocks are a smaller earthquake that happen after the main

0:04:09 > 0:04:11quake in the same area, causing even more damage

0:04:11 > 0:04:19to buildings and roads.

0:04:19 > 0:04:21But there are moments of hope, like this 10-year-old girl

0:04:21 > 0:04:26being pulled to safety by rescuers.

0:04:26 > 0:04:28In the village of Pescara del Tronto, which was built high

0:04:28 > 0:04:33on a hillside, it was too difficult to get lifting equipment up here.

0:04:33 > 0:04:35So rescuers used their hands and found this pet dog alive

0:04:35 > 0:04:37under the rubble.

0:04:37 > 0:04:40People in the towns and villages have now been left homeless,

0:04:40 > 0:04:42and it is unsafe for people to go inside the buildings

0:04:42 > 0:04:46which are still standing.

0:04:46 > 0:04:49They have been sleeping in cars or in makeshift camps.

0:04:49 > 0:04:51This earthquake is not the first to hit Italy.

0:04:51 > 0:04:57The country has experienced quakes over the years.

0:04:57 > 0:05:04But this was the most powerful since 1980, with a magnitude of 6.2.

0:05:04 > 0:05:07If you're upset by anything you see in the news,

0:05:07 > 0:05:13remember there's loads of advice on Newsround online.

0:05:13 > 0:05:15On to footy, and Liverpool play Tottenham Hotspur in the lunchtime

0:05:15 > 0:05:17match in the Premier League.

0:05:17 > 0:05:20The game kicks off in about 15 minutes' time.

0:05:20 > 0:05:22Spurs have four points from their opening two matches

0:05:22 > 0:05:27after a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace and a 1-1 draw with Everton.

0:05:27 > 0:05:31Liverpool have made a more up and down start, beating Arsenal

0:05:31 > 0:05:36in a crazy 4-3 match then losing 2-0 against newly- promoted Burnley.

0:05:36 > 0:05:40And finally, check this out!

0:05:40 > 0:05:43Jetpack pilot Eric Scott shot out of the water and flew above a remote

0:05:43 > 0:05:46lake in America while strapped to an 800-horsepower rocket.

0:05:46 > 0:05:50Although jetpacks aren't anything new, Scott,

0:05:50 > 0:05:52also known as the Rocketman, was performing the stunt

0:05:52 > 0:05:54to highlight how the gadget's technology has changed

0:05:54 > 0:05:55over the years.

0:05:55 > 0:05:56That's all from me.

0:05:56 > 0:05:57Newsround's back right here at 1:45.

0:05:57 > 0:05:58See you then.
