:00:38. > :00:41.caring for their mum and dad. They are young carers and take on a lot
:00:42. > :00:45.of the jobs around the house that adults usually do. They do this
:00:46. > :00:50.because their mum or dad is not well enough to do the job themselves,
:00:51. > :00:54.sometimes because they have problems with mental health. These girls are
:00:55. > :00:55.young carers, who look after their mum.
:00:56. > :00:57.My name is Scarlett and I'm a young carer.
:00:58. > :01:00.My name is Shannon and my life's bit different to everyone else's.
:01:01. > :01:04.One minute she'll be all happy, the next she'll be
:01:05. > :01:07.If I leave for school and she's, like, a bit panicky,
:01:08. > :01:12.it's always in the back of my mind for the rest of the day.
:01:13. > :01:14.When I sit in my lessons and I'm thinking about Mum,
:01:15. > :01:21.I'm not actually sure what she's doing and it makes me worry.
:01:22. > :01:26.When I first started secondary school, I started realising that
:01:27. > :01:28.everyone else's families are different to mine.
:01:29. > :01:30.They don't really have a lot of issues going on.
:01:31. > :01:33.I was at a friend's house and her mum will always
:01:34. > :01:36.take her and her sister out and they will always go places.
:01:37. > :01:40.Because, like, my mum wouldn't and she wouldn't want to go out.
:01:41. > :01:43.Caring for my mum has made me more independent and kind of made me see
:01:44. > :01:48.how grateful you should be for things you get.
:01:49. > :01:51.Because other people I see, they get things they want and take
:01:52. > :01:53.it for granted sometimes, whereas when I get things I kind
:01:54. > :02:00.Because I know that I'm lucky to have it.
:02:01. > :02:04.I will always be close to my family because they're really kind
:02:05. > :02:11.Everyone worries about something in their life.
:02:12. > :02:14.I suppose, I always just worry about my mum because of the way it's
:02:15. > :02:16.always been, like, she's always been there for us,
:02:17. > :02:24.so, we need to be there for her, really.
:02:25. > :02:27.And I'll be speaking to one young carer on Newsround at 8:15am to find

:02:35. > :02:36.of Syria will be allowed to come to the UK.
:02:37. > :02:39.The Government has said it will be offering extra help to children

:03:03. > :03:06.opinions on a new law that the Government has
:03:07. > :03:10.Tommy Zwicky, from the Danish version of Newsround, Ultra Nuut,

:03:16. > :03:16.I'm standing outside the Danish parliament,
:03:17. > :03:19.where politicians have passed an important law.
:03:20. > :03:23.It allows for the Danish authorities to take money or valuables
:03:24. > :03:26.from refugees coming into the country, if they're worth
:03:27. > :03:29.more than 10,000 Danish kroner, which is roughly ?1000.
:03:30. > :03:32.And they do this for two reasons: one is sending a message
:03:33. > :03:34.to the refugees coming up through Europe, saying that Denmark
:03:35. > :03:37.is not a fairy tale country, where everything will be handed
:03:38. > :03:40.to you for free, so you may want to consider going somewhere else.
:03:41. > :03:43.The other is that the money or valuables will be spent
:03:44. > :03:45.on the refugees' own food and housing while they are here,
:03:46. > :03:50.There are many people opposed to this law and they say
:03:51. > :03:54.it is simply shameful take valuables or money from people
