:00:11. > :00:25.And the turtle found a long way from home.

:00:26. > :00:27.First up, female rights campaigner Malala Yousafzai has said she's

:00:28. > :00:31.heartbroken that President Trump is closing the door to children

:00:32. > :00:36.Her comments came after President Trump said the US

:00:37. > :00:38.is banning Syrian refugees from entering the US

:00:39. > :00:44.He's also stopped allowing people from six other mainly Muslim

:00:45. > :00:49.He says it's the right decision to help protect Americans

:00:50. > :00:54.from terrorists, but some people say it will punish innocent people.

:00:55. > :01:01.The things he has said about migrants and refugees have made him

:01:02. > :01:02.popular with his supporters. Some people do say it will punish

:01:03. > :01:04.innocent people. Theresa May became the first

:01:05. > :01:06.foreign leader to meet the new American President

:01:07. > :01:07.Donald Trump. They talked about the relationship

:01:08. > :01:10.between the US and the UK. It was also confirmed

:01:11. > :01:12.that he will be coming to visit It's been a record-breaking

:01:13. > :01:16.tennis day down in Australia, as Serena Williams beat her big sis,

:01:17. > :01:22.not only to take the Australia Open title, but also claim her place

:01:23. > :01:25.in history by winning more big tennis tournaments than any other

:01:26. > :01:28.professional female player. Today the Year of the Rooster starts

:01:29. > :01:37.and people around the world will be celebrating by setting off

:01:38. > :01:41.fireworks, giving gifts of money in red envelopes,

:01:42. > :01:44.and eating special food. Martin's been to meet some kids

:01:45. > :01:51.in Manchester getting involved. I just think it's important because,

:01:52. > :01:54.like, obviously I'm Chinese and my parents are from China,

:01:55. > :01:57.so it's always important So, when it comes to the New Year,

:01:58. > :02:04.there's lots of food Our family come to my house

:02:05. > :02:11.and then we and our friends, we have dinner together

:02:12. > :02:17.and we play with each other. I also like Chinese New Year,

:02:18. > :02:20.cos it's a time for me to get Chinese New Year -

:02:21. > :02:25.when a lot of people from places like America and many Asian

:02:26. > :02:27.countries get together Traditionally here in the UK

:02:28. > :02:33.New Year's Day falls on However, Chinese New Year is based

:02:34. > :02:39.on the ancient lunar calendar, This means the date

:02:40. > :02:44.changes every year. The Chinese calendar also celebrates

:02:45. > :02:47.a different animal each year. There are 12 in total, and this year

:02:48. > :02:53.is all about the Rooster. There are celebrations

:02:54. > :02:55.going on all over the country, and these guys are part of

:02:56. > :03:00.a big parade in Manchester. We are going to dance

:03:01. > :03:05.the chicken dance. Yeah, I'll be doing it with the rest

:03:06. > :03:13.of martial arts school. But that is not all -

:03:14. > :03:16.Chinatown in Manchester will be filled with even more dancers

:03:17. > :03:18.and performers, including this 15-year-old gymnast who's come

:03:19. > :03:24.all the way from China to take part. I get to meet so many new people

:03:25. > :03:30.when we do these performances. Like, I get to spend time

:03:31. > :03:33.with my friends and family, but more importantly I get to meet

:03:34. > :03:36.all these amazing people, and a lot of times we end up

:03:37. > :03:39.becoming really good friends, and those friendships just

:03:40. > :03:43.last for a lifetime. And if you don't know what Chinese

:03:44. > :03:47.animal you are and want to find out, don't worry, we've got

:03:48. > :03:50.you covered online. To the story of a

:03:51. > :03:55.pretty epic journey. This little guy took

:03:56. > :03:57.a wrong turn and ended up This incredible turtle has been

:03:58. > :04:06.on a journey like no other. Last November, she was discovered

:04:07. > :04:11.off the coast of Anglesey in Wales. What's even more amazing is that

:04:12. > :04:14.Olive Ridley turtles are usually found in warmer waters around Mexico

:04:15. > :04:20.and southern parts of the US. So, how did she end up

:04:21. > :04:22.off the coast of Wales, That's what this team

:04:23. > :04:27.are trying to work out. Menai, as she has been named,

:04:28. > :04:30.is being cared for at the Royal They've never seen an

:04:31. > :04:35.Olive Ridley turtle before. She's the first to be spotted

:04:36. > :04:37.in British waters since records

:04:38. > :04:42.began almost 270 years ago. Staff caring for her

:04:43. > :04:44.noticed she was unable but that hasn't stopped her

:04:45. > :04:48.from munching her way She's a real character,

:04:49. > :04:52.now we've got to know her. She is eating well, demolishing

:04:53. > :04:58.a couple of kilos a day. These turtles can swim long

:04:59. > :05:01.distances, but it's thought that Menai drifted in strong

:05:02. > :05:04.currents to the UK. She's getting all

:05:05. > :05:07.the care she needs. A team of carers apply cream to her

:05:08. > :05:12.shell to stop it from drying out. Menai will be returned to Anglesey,

:05:13. > :05:14.then she will hopefully be fit enough to be released back

:05:15. > :05:20.into the wild. Have you ever been so happy

:05:21. > :05:22.you want to dance? Well, these too showed certainly

:05:23. > :05:28.know how to celebrate. Bethanie Mattek-Sands,

:05:29. > :05:29.and Lucie Safarova - or Team Bucie as they call

:05:30. > :05:32.themselves - showed off with this routine after

:05:33. > :05:37.they won the doubles title. Remember to go online and find out

:05:38. > :05:59.what your Chinese zodiac animal is. Secure your place at

:06:00. > :06:04.the 500 Words Final, BBC Radio 2's writing competition

:06:05. > :06:10.for kids with our honorary judge her Royal Highness the

:06:11. > :06:16.Duchess of Cornwall.
