:00:00. > :00:11.Hi guys. Leah here, live this Friday morning with some of this on the
:00:12. > :00:17.way. How this tiger cub trio coped with their first venture outside.
:00:18. > :00:23.And an year to talk about books and boys with Frank Lampard. -- and
:00:24. > :00:26.Dianne here. This is Newsround. But first to the latest development in
:00:27. > :00:29.the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines plane. Australian officials
:00:30. > :00:36.say that new data suggests it didn't fly as far as they first thought
:00:37. > :00:39.before crashing into the sea. As a result search crews have shifted the
:00:40. > :00:43.area they're looking for wreckage several hundred miles to the north
:00:44. > :00:47.east. The plane went missing mid-flight more than two weeks ago,
:00:48. > :00:51.something that's extremely rare. The BBC's Jonathan Head is at the search
:00:52. > :00:57.base and explained what this latest development means.
:00:58. > :01:02.In practice, it brings the search area closer to Western Australia.
:01:03. > :01:08.1000 miles offshore. That means that the planes leaving this airbase will
:01:09. > :01:11.be able to spend longer over the search zone, which should improve
:01:12. > :01:15.the efficiency of the search. The problem is it means that if the new
:01:16. > :01:18.information is right, one week has been wasted in essence. And there's
:01:19. > :01:21.lots more on the background to that missing plane story on the Newsround
:01:22. > :01:27.website plus lots of help and advice if anything you see in the news
:01:28. > :01:30.upsets you. Next, he's used to exciting supporters with his goals,
:01:31. > :01:34.but Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has a growing reputation for keeping
:01:35. > :01:37.fans on the edge of their seats with his books too. Well, now Frank has
:01:38. > :01:40.teamed up with the Premier League and the National Literacy Trust to
:01:41. > :01:42.get more boys reading, something that's not happening enough
:01:43. > :01:48.according to them. What is your fragrant book? --
:01:49. > :01:53.favourite book. It made sure I did reading and basic maths at school.
:01:54. > :01:59.I've enjoyed reading and got good marks. My favourite book was the
:02:00. > :02:05.BFG. It is very good, Latin. Whatever you want to do with your
:02:06. > :02:09.lives, it is important to get the basics. How important is it to read
:02:10. > :02:14.outside of school? Very important because it is a basic life skills.
:02:15. > :02:22.It is a great way to use your imagination. There is time in the
:02:23. > :02:25.modern day for kids to do lots of different things but reading every
:02:26. > :02:29.day can help you with your basic skills. At the moment, younger boys
:02:30. > :02:37.find it harder to read compared to girls. Why is that? I think it is
:02:38. > :02:41.something we have to work on. I don't know why. Perhaps there's
:02:42. > :02:44.something in them that does not want to read so much, but with gentle
:02:45. > :02:50.help, they can get excited about reading. And you do not have to be
:02:51. > :02:55.on a computer. You can sit and read and have more enjoyment. And it is
:02:56. > :02:57.something that the National Literacy Trust is working with the Premier
:02:58. > :03:01.League to try to achieve. One in five children leave Henry school
:03:02. > :03:06.without being able to read properly. We are trying to work with
:03:07. > :03:13.the Premier League to get boys to read more. Boys look up to players
:03:14. > :03:15.like Frank Lampard. They will read more when they know that their
:03:16. > :03:21.favourite Premier League footballers are reading. The difference between
:03:22. > :03:24.girls and boys in reading starts as young as five but it is hoped that
:03:25. > :03:27.with people like Frank Lampard getting kids into reading, that gap
:03:28. > :03:30.can be breached. And there's more from Frank on the
:03:31. > :03:34.Newsround website and on Match of the Day Kickbout tomorrow morning.
:03:35. > :03:38.A replica of the surface of Mars has been extended so it can test out the
:03:39. > :03:42.latest Euro Rover bound for the red planet. This warehouse in
:03:43. > :03:46.Hertfordshire has the same sand and rocks as Mars and has been made
:03:47. > :03:50.bigger to house a prototype of the European Mars Rover. It's expected
:03:51. > :03:57.to blast off for a new mission in 2018.
:03:58. > :04:02.Zookeepers in London have been speaking about their latest
:04:03. > :04:06.arrivals. The three Sumatran tiger cubs were born in February but went
:04:07. > :04:09.on display for the first time this week. Zoo staff aren't yet sure
:04:10. > :04:12.whether the cubs are boys or girls but they're pleased with how they
:04:13. > :04:15.coped with their first venture outside. I think they were
:04:16. > :04:17.overwhelmed by it. It is such a huge space. Also, Mum was keeping a
:04:18. > :04:20.watchful eye over them because she is concerned with where they are
:04:21. > :04:24.going. She does not want them to be out of her sight. So she limited
:04:25. > :04:28.them to around the area where they came out, to make sure they were
:04:29. > :04:31.safe. And finally if you're a Harry Potter fan with a spare ?15,000 in
:04:32. > :04:34.pocket money then this next story is for you. Original Harry Potter book
:04:35. > :04:38.illustrations by British artist Cliff Wright are going up for
:04:39. > :04:42.auction in America. They were used as covers for the second and third
:04:43. > :04:47.instalments of J.K Rowling's seven book series. There's also a two page
:04:48. > :04:49.letter by the former British Minister Winston Churchill
:04:50. > :04:58.explaining why he wanted to leave his job back in 1955. That is all
:04:59. > :04:59.from me and the team. We are back here after school with Martin on
:05:00. > :05:02.CBBC.
