:00:27. > :00:31.Newsround. But first to the latest development in the search for the
:00:32. > :00:34.missing Malaysia airline's plane. Australian officials say that new
:00:35. > :00:38.data suggests it didn't fly as far as they first thought before
:00:39. > :00:41.crashing into the sea. As a result search crews have shifted the area
:00:42. > :00:46.they're looking for wreckage in several hundred miles to the north
:00:47. > :00:50.east. The plane went missing mid-flight more than two weeks ago,
:00:51. > :00:53.something that's extremely rare. The BBC's Jonathan Head is at the search
:00:54. > :01:01.base and explained what this latest development means.
:01:02. > :01:06.In effect, it means that these calculations are correct and for a
:01:07. > :01:10.week, all the aircraft flying out of the space have been looking in the
:01:11. > :01:14.wrong area. That is why they have moved the search area today. We had
:01:15. > :01:20.bad weather yesterday and today it has been good. Ten aircraft due to
:01:21. > :01:23.get up there, and they are focusing on this new search area.
:01:24. > :01:26.And there's lots more on the background to that missing plane

:01:43. > :01:45.and the National Literacy Trust to get more boys reading, something
:01:46. > :01:52.that's not happening enough according to them. What is your
:01:53. > :01:57.favourite book? Image sure I did my basic reading and maths, things like
:01:58. > :02:03.that, at school. I did quite enjoy it and they got good marks. My
:02:04. > :02:08.favourite book was the BFG. It was very good for basic language skills.
:02:09. > :02:12.Any Chelsea fans? Whatever you want to do now, it is important you get
:02:13. > :02:17.the basics. How important is it to read outside of the classroom? Very
:02:18. > :02:21.important because it is a basic life skills. It is such an easy thing to
:02:22. > :02:27.do. It is a great way to use your imagination. Think there is a lot of
:02:28. > :02:32.time in the modern day for different things. A small amount of time a day
:02:33. > :02:37.reading it, it can help you with basic skills. Younger boys find it
:02:38. > :02:44.harder to read compared to girls. Why is that? I don't know. I think
:02:45. > :02:48.we have to work on it. There might be too many different things for
:02:49. > :02:52.boys to do. But I think with some gentle help, I think they can get
:02:53. > :03:00.more excited about reading. We have to tell you how exciting it can be.

:03:11. > :03:16.One out of five people leave school without being able to read properly.
:03:17. > :03:19.It is particularly bad with boys. Boys look up to people like Frank
:03:20. > :03:23.Lampard and when they read more, they know that their favourite
:03:24. > :03:30.footballers are reading, too. The difference between girls and boys in
:03:31. > :03:36.reading start as young as five years old but it is hoped that with people
:03:37. > :03:41.like Frank Lampard encouraging kids to read, that could be improved. And

:03:58. > :03:59.Mars rover before launch? Now to high-tech advances in bigger print
:04:00. > :04:03.identification. For more than 100 years it's been used to fight crime
:04:04. > :04:05.but now police in West Yorkshire are working with scientists, trialing a
:04:06. > :04:09.new technique which they say could identify far more than who a person
:04:10. > :04:12.is. Their new technology means even a smudged fingerprint can now
:04:13. > :04:15.provide important clues about a person's activities hours before a
:04:16. > :04:20.crime. It's hope this new method could be used in court cases one
:04:21. > :04:25.day. Next, what's the best way to test a Mars rover before launch?
:04:26. > :04:28.Well, it turns out the easiest way is to build a test planet here on
:04:29. > :04:32.Earth! Scientists in Hertfordshire have recreated a little piece of the
:04:33. > :04:36.Mars surface. It has the same sand and rocks as the red planet, and
:04:37. > :04:39.it's being used to test designs for a European Mars Rover. The European
:04:40. > :04:42.Rover will be sent to Mars in four years time, on a mission to search
:04:43. > :04:45.for life. And we will have more on that story
