:00:00. > :00:09.It's Friday. I'm Martin - stick with us to find out what happened when

:00:10. > :00:18.this old building got one prod too many.

:00:19. > :00:21.And join me as I report from Mars. Well, sort of.

:00:22. > :00:25.Let's start then with new attempts to answer one of our universe's

:00:26. > :00:28.biggest questions - is there life on Mars? A massive replica of the red

:00:29. > :00:33.planet - built right here in the UK - is being used to develop the very

:00:34. > :00:36.latest rovers that will find out more about Mars than ever before.

:00:37. > :00:38.Nel's been to a converted warehouse in Stevenage to find out how it

:00:39. > :00:53.works. What is it that you are doing here?

:00:54. > :00:58.We are developing all of these rovers to go to Mars in 2018. We

:00:59. > :01:06.need to be able to test them in an environment. We have had to build

:01:07. > :01:11.several different rovers to develop different parts of the actual final

:01:12. > :01:16.system that will go. The first one is called Bridget. We also have

:01:17. > :01:22.Bruno and Brian. Once they are on Mars, we cannot help them if they

:01:23. > :01:31.get stuck. Which is now -- which is why Brian now has a bigger and

:01:32. > :01:38.better movement to help him on Mars. This enables us to study this in

:01:39. > :01:46.great detail and there are two rovers running around on the surface

:01:47. > :01:52.right now operated by NASA. We can see a small region with the

:01:53. > :01:57.curiosity Rover. There is a larger region outlined in red. We can also

:01:58. > :02:02.zoom in and look at the blue section here with a high resolution camera.

:02:03. > :02:10.That will be looking for where to look for signs of life. This is the

:02:11. > :02:16.first European mission and we are looking for signs of life, past and

:02:17. > :02:21.present. This bigger and better facility brings the European space

:02:22. > :02:27.at the European Space Agency one step closer to its first space

:02:28. > :02:30.mission. It is another small step for mankind.

:02:31. > :02:33.To the day's other news and the teams searching for the missing

:02:34. > :02:36.Malaysia Airlines flight think it might be several hundred miles from

:02:37. > :02:39.where they'd been looking. It's after the latest data suggested the

:02:40. > :02:42.plane ran out of fuel earlier than thought before it crashed into the

:02:43. > :02:46.Indian Ocean. Australian officials say their focus is now on an area

:02:47. > :02:49.almost 700 miles away from the last search zone. Flight MH370 went

:02:50. > :02:55.missing mid-flight three weeks ago - something that's extremely rare.

:02:56. > :02:59.There's more on the missing plane along with lots of help and advice

:03:00. > :03:01.if anything you see in the news upsets you, on the Newsround

:03:02. > :03:04.website. From tomorrow, same-sex couples will

:03:05. > :03:09.be able to get married for the first time in England and Wales. Up until

:03:10. > :03:12.now, gay couples have been able to have a civil partnership which is

:03:13. > :03:17.similar to marriage but doesn't give all the same rights. Some religious

:03:18. > :03:19.groups say they are not happy with the changes - and will not carry out

:03:20. > :03:23.gay weddings. Scotland's announced plans to make same-sex marriage

:03:24. > :03:27.legal too in the future - but there are no such plans in Northern

:03:28. > :03:30.Ireland. And Chelsea's Frank Lampard has

:03:31. > :03:35.joined forces with the Premier League and National Literacy Trust

:03:36. > :03:38.to try and get more boys reading. The Trust's own research suggests

:03:39. > :03:41.fewer boys than girls read outside of school and almost two out of

:03:42. > :03:52.three prefer watching TV to picking up a book. Here's Frank saying why

:03:53. > :03:57.he thinks it's so important. It is a basic life skills. It is an easy

:03:58. > :04:05.thing to do and a great way to use your imagination, to read books and

:04:06. > :04:08.enjoy them. There are -- there is lots of time for lots of different

:04:09. > :04:11.things for children and reading a small amount of time is enjoyable.

:04:12. > :04:13.And you've been telling us what you think would get more boys reading on

:04:14. > :04:31.the website all day. Finally to that old building we saw

:04:32. > :04:35.at the start of the show. This engineer was working to secure the

:04:36. > :04:39.empty building and make it safe when he prodded one set of bricks a

:04:40. > :04:41.little too hard and the whole thing suddenly came crashing down around

:04:42. > :04:45.him. Fortunately he was safe and nobody else was injured because the

:04:46. > :04:48.area around the building was cordoned off from the public.

:04:49. > :04:51.And you can see if that made it into this week's strangest stories right

:04:52. > :04:56.now on the Newsround website. Which is also where you can check out our

:04:57. > :04:58.Specials on the kids of Kabul and front line families. We're back

:04:59. > :05:01.tomorrow. See you then.
