:00:00. > :00:00.beat Newcastle tonight. And don't forget to watch MOTD Kickabout on
:00:00. > :00:00.Saturday when super style freestyler John Bond work will bring you
:00:00. > :00:08.another special. It's Monday morning, Ayshah here
:00:09. > :00:12.with the stories to start your week. On the way:
:00:13. > :00:15.Find out why Luis Suarez had a day of two halves. And...
:00:16. > :00:20.Tom Daley plunges into action at the Diving World Series.
:00:21. > :00:23.This is Newsround. First this morning to a story
:00:24. > :00:27.involving a shipwreck, a rat invasion and one of our favourite
:00:28. > :00:31.sea birds - puffins. In a tiny island off the coast of west Wales,
:00:32. > :00:35.they've come up with some unusual ways to trick and bring the sea
:00:36. > :00:43.birds back to the shore. We sent Nel to find out more.
:00:44. > :00:49.This is Ramsey Island, one of the tie the islands of the Pembrokeshire
:00:50. > :00:53.coast. It is one of the most beautiful places in Wales and is a
:00:54. > :01:03.great place to spot some sea birds off the tall rocky cliffs. One sea
:01:04. > :01:09.bird is hard to find right now, the puffin. It wasn't always the story.
:01:10. > :01:13.Up until the late 1800s, thousands of them lived and bred happily on
:01:14. > :01:17.the island, but that stopped when the rats arrived. It all started
:01:18. > :01:24.with a shipwreck and the rats who abandoned ship swam here to safety.
:01:25. > :01:29.Puffins live in burrows, which made it easy for the rats to sneak in and
:01:30. > :01:34.eat their eggs, so the puffins left. Now the rats have gone, so how do
:01:35. > :01:38.you get puffins back? Conservation groups have been working on it and
:01:39. > :01:43.they have some pretty interesting ideas. With these fake puffins made
:01:44. > :01:48.of plastic, the idea was that birds on the water will see these, there
:01:49. > :01:52.is a busy colony there and they will go up. Unfortunately, it didn't
:01:53. > :01:59.work. We came across and colleagues in Northern Ireland who had speaker
:02:00. > :02:04.systems. Puffins that are out there will hopefully hear it and come
:02:05. > :02:08.ashore. Why is it important to get puffins back onto Ramsey Island?
:02:09. > :02:12.They always used to be here so it would be good to get them back. They
:02:13. > :02:16.are not doing that well in the rest of the UK, so it is important to
:02:17. > :02:23.have another site where puffins can breed successfully. So far today,
:02:24. > :02:26.these are the only puffins that I have seen. However, there is hope. A
:02:27. > :02:32.few have been spotted on the cliffs behind me. But there is no quick
:02:33. > :02:38.fix, and it take a few years until we see a fully fledged puffin
:02:39. > :02:41.population on Island. -- Ramsey Island.
:02:42. > :02:44.Next to the US, where a huge storm causing deadly tornados has swept
:02:45. > :02:48.across the centre and south of the country. At least nine people have
:02:49. > :02:54.died in the chaos caused by the storm.
:02:55. > :03:00.The incident is being described as a tragic accident during a routine
:03:01. > :03:05.flight. And if that, or any other stories you hear on newsround upset
:03:06. > :03:08.you, then there are some help and advice on our website. There is also
:03:09. > :03:10.a guide on the conflict in Afghanistan if you want to find out
:03:11. > :03:13.more. Next, he's terrorised defenders all
:03:14. > :03:18.season, bagging 30 Premier League goals in the process. And now Luis
:03:19. > :03:23.Suarez's incredible form has been rewarded as he's been named the
:03:24. > :03:26.PFA's Player of the Year. The Uruguayan beat off competition from
:03:27. > :03:35.team-mates Steven Gerrard and Daniel Sturridge and a host of other
:03:36. > :03:39.Premier League stars. As he picked up one trophy, another
:03:40. > :03:46.could be slipping away from him, after Chelsea dealt a devastating
:03:47. > :03:49.blow to Liverpool's title hopes. The 2-0 win at Anfield ended
:03:50. > :03:53.Liverpool's 16 match unbeaten streak that had seen their march to the top
:03:54. > :03:59.of the table and means the title is no longer in their control. I can
:04:00. > :04:02.only pay tribute to my players. Congratulations to Chelsea, they get
:04:03. > :04:07.the result, but my team is a team that wants to be offensive, they
:04:08. > :04:10.want to win games by playing good football, to be creative. Today, we
:04:11. > :04:13.couldn't quite make the breakthrough. It was very difficult.
:04:14. > :04:16.Tom Daley finished fifth in the 10-metre platform at the Diving
:04:17. > :04:21.World Series event held at the London Aquatics Centre. It's the
:04:22. > :04:26.first time he's competed there since he won a bronze at the Olympics two
:04:27. > :04:30.years ago. Tom said he was happy with his performance but he
:04:31. > :04:36.struggled with his twist dive. I kind of have to be happy with the
:04:37. > :04:40.way it has gone. I knew the twist dive was the one that would let you
:04:41. > :04:45.down all the way through, everything else was steady, so it is annoying
:04:46. > :04:49.that my twist dive is the way it is at the moment. If it was like it was
:04:50. > :04:51.in the year of the Olympics, I would be in the medals.
:04:52. > :04:55.That's all from me, make sure you come back in half an hour for some
:04:56. > :04:57.amazing sand sculptures straight out of your favourite
