:00:00. > :00:07.Newsround here with all of Thursday's top stories.

:00:08. > :00:09.I'm Ricky with some of this on the way.

:00:10. > :00:12.No brakes, no steering wheel - the car that drives itself.

:00:13. > :00:21.And the world's biggest boy band kick off the UK leg of their tour.

:00:22. > :00:24.First, to the city of Calais in France where hundreds

:00:25. > :00:28.of people living in makeshift camps have been made to leave.

:00:29. > :00:31.The people are migrants who have come from the Middle East, Asia and

:00:32. > :00:37.But French authorities say the camps are a danger to people's

:00:38. > :00:44.For months, these people have been living under

:00:45. > :00:47.sheets and plastic bags, with no power, water and little food.

:00:48. > :00:50.They've now packed everything up and left.

:00:51. > :00:56.Many people who've been living here want to come to the UK to start

:00:57. > :01:00.Some of them have fled war torn countries

:01:01. > :01:05.The camps are all close to the port in Calais

:01:06. > :01:08.in France where ferries cross the English Channel to Britain.

:01:09. > :01:11.French authorities say the camps needed to be cleared because of

:01:12. > :01:14.a contagious skin condition called scabies, which they say is spreading

:01:15. > :01:19.A deadline was set for people in the camps to leave this morning

:01:20. > :01:22.and the police arrived to make sure they had gone.

:01:23. > :01:28.This was despite protests from some migrants who wanted to stay.

:01:29. > :01:35.This is the Syrian camp next to the port and the police are working

:01:36. > :01:39.their way through tent by tent, looking inside, seeing who is in

:01:40. > :01:44.there. There has been announcements on a loud speaker, telling people

:01:45. > :01:48.they need to move on. No one knows where they're supposed to go. There

:01:49. > :01:52.are buses parked on the road behind the camp. No one seem to know where

:01:53. > :01:56.the buses will take them. At some point we expect this whole camp to

:01:57. > :02:06.be bulldozed. Since then makeshift camps have

:02:07. > :02:08.sprung up around the port. Local officials in Calais say

:02:09. > :02:11.the migrants were offered buses to take them to new accommodation,

:02:12. > :02:15.but many didn't want to get on. It's not clear now where

:02:16. > :02:17.the migrants will go, but what is clear is that this camp

:02:18. > :02:21.is no longer an option. Next, many of you have been looking

:02:36. > :02:53.expected to pack What everyone has been looking

:02:54. > :02:57.forward to this. The Stadium of Light is used to putting on a show

:02:58. > :03:02.for Premier League football. But tonight it is all about Premier

:03:03. > :03:06.League pop stars as the world's biggest boy band, One Direction

:03:07. > :03:10.perform. The boys have been here before. They came here last Tuesday

:03:11. > :03:14.for rehearsal and got themselves some free football shirts in a

:03:15. > :03:20.cheeky kick about on the park. What is that, all the good thins about

:03:42. > :03:48.building. What was it like when you found you had tickets? I got them

:03:49. > :03:54.when my birthday last year. I was really excited and screamed my head

:03:55. > :04:02.off when I got them. You have got to show me how big fans you are? Look

:04:03. > :04:11.at this - that is amazing. Tell me quickly, who is your favourite?

:04:12. > :04:15.Lewis. Niall. Have a great time. I tried to get a ticket all day. Can't

:04:16. > :04:21.get one. But I might catch up with these two later to see how exciting

:04:22. > :04:28.it was back to you, Ricky. I love it.

:04:29. > :04:31.Now imagine a car that drives you to school,

:04:32. > :04:34.or takes you to see your mates without anyone behind the wheel?

:04:35. > :04:38.Well it may not be that far off, because Google has announced it's

:04:39. > :04:40.going to start building self-driving cars.

:04:41. > :04:42.The company plans to build 100 vehicles

:04:43. > :04:45.which won't have steering wheels or pedals, simply stop and go buttons.

:04:46. > :04:47.Some people say driverless cars could reduce car crashes,

:04:48. > :04:50.but some researchers believe they could make traffic worse.
