:00:35. > :00:37.and tonight a BBC documentary looks into the impact that's having

:00:38. > :00:59.The life in Syria did not often see. This boy and his friends are

:01:00. > :01:05.getting ready for sports day. But a quick runs at the streets in the

:01:06. > :01:11.capital of Syria show that the war here is still raging. Clashes

:01:12. > :01:18.between the government and rebel forces have been going on since

:01:19. > :01:34.March 2011. It has turned many children's lives upside down.

:01:35. > :01:41.This reporter has covered many war zones and has followed six children

:01:42. > :01:47.over six months to find out about the stories. This is the

:01:48. > :01:51.neighbourhood were young boy used to play and now some of his friends are

:01:52. > :01:56.on the other side. She discovered that many families have escaped the

:01:57. > :02:10.fighting and have left everything they know behind.

:02:11. > :02:18.These are just some of the stories in more than 1 million children's

:02:19. > :02:22.lives who have been forced to leave their homes in Syria.

:02:23. > :02:24.Next, it might be the middle of summer but

:02:25. > :02:27.freak floods and ice showers have hit parts of South East England.

:02:28. > :02:29.Lightning strikes and torrential rain hit London,

:02:30. > :02:34.Knee high floods stopped trains and cars from travelling.

:02:35. > :02:37.It's thought a sudden drop in the recent hot temperatures might

:02:38. > :02:57.No problems with the weather in Glasgow. Here is Martin.

:03:39. > :03:45.by becoming Scotland's youngest ever Commonwealth medallist.

:03:46. > :03:53.This is the moment the young Scottish swimmer won bronze at the

:03:54. > :04:01.Commonwealth Games. She is aged just 13 and not one was expect it. I was

:04:02. > :04:07.not expect it. I just came out and gave it all I had. White like she is

:04:08. > :04:13.from the Shetland Islands. There are not many weeks winning the spirits

:04:14. > :04:19.of becoming a champion has become a lifelong commitment. I go training

:04:20. > :04:23.in the morning and I trained in the evenings and at night. She is the

:04:24. > :04:29.youngest ever medallist from Scotland but did not even tell her

:04:30. > :04:35.when she was entering. I'd did not tell them but they all found out in

:04:36. > :04:39.the end. After her success, she may consider swimming at the Paralympics

:04:40. > :04:49.in two years time but for now, she is focusing on celebrating. Did you
