0:00:12 > 0:00:15Afternoon guys, Martin here with your Monday

0:00:15 > 0:00:17Newsround, live on CBBC.

0:00:17 > 0:00:20First up, we're heading to the US and last night's Grammys music

0:00:20 > 0:00:23awards where despite all the pop superstars being there,

0:00:23 > 0:00:26Beyonce and Jay Z's six-year-old daughter Blue Ivy stole the show!

0:00:26 > 0:00:29Check her out telling her mega famous parents

0:00:29 > 0:00:32to stop clapping too much!

0:00:32 > 0:00:34And guess what - they did!

0:00:34 > 0:00:37The Grammys celebrate the best songs and albums of the year.

0:00:37 > 0:00:39Bruno Mars was the big winner with six awards!

0:00:39 > 0:00:40Including best album.

0:00:40 > 0:00:43And song of the year for That's What I Like!

0:00:43 > 0:00:46Ed Sheeran won two awards.

0:00:46 > 0:00:48His huge smash Shape of You bagged him best

0:00:48 > 0:00:50pop solo performance.

0:00:50 > 0:00:52Ed, who recently got engaged, wasn't at The Grammy's

0:00:52 > 0:00:56to pick up his awards.

0:00:56 > 0:00:58Next, if we don't eat enough, we run out of energy

0:00:58 > 0:01:01pretty quickly, right?

0:01:01 > 0:01:04That's because all of us use energy from food, called calories,

0:01:04 > 0:01:06to keep us on the move.

0:01:06 > 0:01:08And if you think you've got a plateful.

0:01:08 > 0:01:13You should see how much dolphins need to munch.

0:01:13 > 0:01:18Felling peckish? If you have had an active day, you might find your

0:01:18 > 0:01:23tummy rumbling. But well kids like you are recommended to munch around

0:01:23 > 0:01:261500 calories each day. You will never guess how much dolphins need

0:01:26 > 0:01:32to eat. New research has found that our flippered friends need up to a

0:01:32 > 0:01:39whopping 33,000 calories a day! Wow! That's 60 plates of salmon to me and

0:01:39 > 0:01:45you, and amazingly, that amount was less than scientists expected. The

0:01:45 > 0:01:49amount of food a dolphin needs varies depending on its size and

0:01:49 > 0:01:52whether it's resting, sleeping, diving or swimming. As well as the

0:01:52 > 0:01:56temperature of the ocean. Looks like this guy's working up an appetite.

0:01:56 > 0:02:00The study was carried out on bottlenosed dolphins in Florida.

0:02:00 > 0:02:04They were captured for a short time in order to be monitored by

0:02:04 > 0:02:08scientists who say the research will help with conservation. I just hope

0:02:08 > 0:02:13all that fish is providing enough vitamin C. Get it, because they're

0:02:13 > 0:02:20in the C, the sea... Never mind.

0:02:20 > 0:02:23Next up, take a look at the piece of kit that could be a massive help

0:02:23 > 0:02:26for Great Britain's skiers and snowboarders at the Winter

0:02:26 > 0:02:27Olympics which start early next month.

0:02:27 > 0:02:30It's a giant airbag that sits on the landing of a jump.

0:02:30 > 0:02:33At 60 metres long and 23 metres wide it lets athletes try

0:02:33 > 0:02:35all sorts of tricks, spinning in different directions,

0:02:35 > 0:02:37without any real danger of missing the landing.

0:02:37 > 0:02:40It allows Team GB athletes to practice tricks that will help

0:02:40 > 0:02:43them to compete on the World stage.

0:02:43 > 0:02:47And talking of snow and ice, have you ever seen

0:02:47 > 0:02:50anything like this before?

0:02:50 > 0:02:51It's a frozen waterfall.

0:02:51 > 0:02:55It's been so cold in Romania that a big chunk of the water running

0:02:55 > 0:02:58over this cliff has turned into what looks like

0:02:58 > 0:02:59a solid ice sculpture.

0:02:59 > 0:03:03Depending on the time of day, the minerals in the water even make

0:03:03 > 0:03:05the ice change colour!

0:03:05 > 0:03:09Next up, you might have heard people say money doesn't grow on trees.

0:03:09 > 0:03:14But what about inventing your own money, and a bank to store it in!

0:03:14 > 0:03:21Well that's what these kids have done.

0:03:21 > 0:03:24This school not only has its own bank but it's the kids who're in

0:03:24 > 0:03:28charge of running it.I love the bank, it's my favourite job.Me

0:03:28 > 0:03:33too...Every lunch time, their job is to put their class mates' money

0:03:33 > 0:03:42into the bank. But it's not normal money like pounds. It's a special

0:03:42 > 0:03:46currency they've invented call which the students earn for doing well in

0:03:46 > 0:03:51the classroom.I am the bank manager. I need to look after the

0:03:51 > 0:03:57money.Every lunch time, the class can spend the money they've saved up

0:03:57 > 0:04:04in the school shop.I am Taylor and I'm the assistant bank manager. I

0:04:04 > 0:04:09have to supervise the cashiers and make sure no-one's mispaid. When we

0:04:09 > 0:04:12first started the project, we were asking children where they thought

0:04:12 > 0:04:16money comes from, they think it just comes from a cash point which is why

0:04:16 > 0:04:19we introduced the idea of, you need to work for your money and earn it

0:04:19 > 0:04:26and then you are rewarded. So by doing well in class, you can get the

0:04:26 > 0:04:30Kurts, save up and buy all this cool stuff! Wow, maybe I'll start

0:04:30 > 0:04:39behaving myself for once. Look at that teddy, how cute is that? !

0:04:39 > 0:04:44That's it from me, Ricky's back tomorrow at 7.40 but you can head

0:04:44 > 0:04:51online and check out the rest of the days' stories there.
