:00:00. > :00:08.This is your weekend Newsround, with me, Ricky. It's coming up to midday.
:00:09. > :00:12.On the way: Not breaking news, it's breaking tiles: find out which world
:00:13. > :00:15.record this woman is trying to smash!
:00:16. > :00:17.And EWE will find out why these sheep baa-rged their way into one of
:00:18. > :00:28.the world's most famous museums. But first to a big change to the law
:00:29. > :00:31.in England and Wales that came in overnight: same-sex couples are now
:00:32. > :00:34.allowed to get married. Martin has been looking into the change, which
:00:35. > :00:37.has sparked some strong views from people on both sides of the
:00:38. > :00:42.argument. I am now very happy to announce that
:00:43. > :00:45.you are now legally... Just after midnight these people were
:00:46. > :00:49.celebrating getting married. Up until now, two men or two women were
:00:50. > :00:54.not allowed to marry each other - but now the law has changed. But
:00:55. > :00:58.while there were celebrations for those getting married, not everyone
:00:59. > :01:02.is happy with the change. Those against it, including many religious
:01:03. > :01:05.groups, say that marriage has been between a man and a woman for
:01:06. > :01:10.hundreds of years and it shouldn't be altered. Up until today same-sex
:01:11. > :01:13.couples could only have a civil partnership, which gives similar
:01:14. > :01:21.rights but isn't exactly the same rights as marriage. Despite the
:01:22. > :01:23.change in the law, it will be up to individual religious organisations
:01:24. > :01:28.to choose whether or not they want to hold ceremonies for gay people.
:01:29. > :01:33.Some, like the Church of England and the Roman Catholic Church, said they
:01:34. > :01:36.will not marry gay couples. Attitudes to gay people vary across
:01:37. > :01:39.the world: 16 countries currently allow same-sex marriage, but in
:01:40. > :01:43.others, such as Iran and Nigeria, it's illegal for a man to have a
:01:44. > :01:50.relationship with a man, or a woman with a woman. Scotland has also
:01:51. > :01:56.passed a law making gay marriage legal but there are no plans to do
:01:57. > :01:59.the same in Northern Ireland. Russian leader Vladimir Putin has
:02:00. > :02:04.phoned US president Barack Obama to talk about ways to resolve the
:02:05. > :02:07.Ukraine crisis. There has been a lot of unrest in Ukraine between people
:02:08. > :02:11.in the country who support closer ties to Russia and those who don't.
:02:12. > :02:16.Russian forces recently took control of Crimea, in southern Ukraine,
:02:17. > :02:19.something Obama said was illegal. During the hour-long call, the two
:02:20. > :02:23.leaders discussed the build-up of Russian troops on Ukraine's border.
:02:24. > :02:27.Their foreign ministers will meet soon to discuss what to do next.
:02:28. > :02:32.Now, earlier this morning, I told you about tae kwon do champion Lisa
:02:33. > :02:36.Dennis. She was trying to break 1,000 of these tiles in 90 seconds
:02:37. > :02:47.to set a new world record. So, did she do it? Well, let's find out.
:02:48. > :02:52.Every week, Lisa's classes pack a punch. She has been coaching ITF tae
:02:53. > :02:56.kwon do for years. She is world champion, and her partner Chris is
:02:57. > :02:59.the men's world record holder. When it comes to high kicks and breaking
:03:00. > :03:04.tiles, they're obviously good teachers, inspiring these pupils.
:03:05. > :03:07.But on this special day, Lisa's students have come to support her in
:03:08. > :03:10.this third attempt at a tile-smashing record, 1,000 tiles in
:03:11. > :03:17.90 seconds, with the Guinness World Record adjudicator to do the
:03:18. > :03:20.counting. For me here today, it's just seeing another woman using her
:03:21. > :03:27.strength and her mind to actually do a very strong, physical and
:03:28. > :03:30.dangerous attempt, really. I've got European championship titles. Being
:03:31. > :03:34.a Guinness world record holder means everything to me, and I want to make
:03:35. > :03:38.these guys proud. Finally, after three years of training, the wait is
:03:39. > :03:43.over, and BBC Sport's Mike Bushell was standing by to commentate. We're
:03:44. > :03:47.away, and suddenly the place erupts in noise as Lisa works her way down
:03:48. > :03:52.the first row of tiles, getting into a rhythm, two hands, two hands.
:03:53. > :03:57.She's getting through clean every time. Fantastic! I don't even
:03:58. > :04:02.remember it. It's that indomitable spirit! I just don't know whether
:04:03. > :04:35.it's enough, you know? I can now confirm that you broke the
:04:36. > :04:38.thousandth tile. In 84 seconds! Yes! Definitely don't do that at home!
:04:39. > :04:42.Sport, and in about 45 minutes Man United take on Aston Villa in the
:04:43. > :04:46.Premier League's early kick-off. But the big focus could be on the air,
:04:47. > :04:49.not on the pitch. That's because some United fans have hired a plane
:04:50. > :04:53.to fly over Old Trafford towing a banner that says "Wrong one - Moyes
:04:54. > :04:56.out". The fans involved say it's to protest against manager David Moyes,
:04:57. > :04:59.who has overseen the club's worst ever Premier League season. Moyes
:05:00. > :05:02.himself says most supporters are behind him. There has been great
:05:03. > :05:05.support inside the ground. I'm witnessing great support from the
:05:06. > :05:09.people I bump into outside the ground. The people who put me in
:05:10. > :05:10.place in the job here are top football people who understand the
:05:11. > :05:13.game. Arsenal take on title-chasing Man
:05:14. > :05:17.City in the day's most high-profile game. The Gunners have dropped to
:05:18. > :05:20.fourth place in recent weeks, but their manager says they could still
:05:21. > :05:23.win the league. We have not given up, believe me. And I think
:05:24. > :05:26.champions keep going when everybody else would give up.
:05:27. > :05:29.Good news, Voice fans: BBC bosses have said the hit show will return
:05:30. > :05:33.for another two series. They have just announced the plans ahead of
:05:34. > :05:36.the live semifinals tonight for this year's contestants. Each artist will
:05:37. > :05:39.perform one song before a group number with their team and superstar
:05:40. > :05:43.coach. The audience decide who will make it through to the final.
:05:44. > :05:46.And let's finish with something a bit baa-rmy: this was the scene as
:05:47. > :05:50.12 sheep stormed into the famous Louvre museum in Paris, France. They
:05:51. > :05:53.were taken in by farmers protesting against changes to farming rules.
:05:54. > :05:54.Join me just before two o'clock, when we'll be meeting this amazing
:05:55. > :05:58.bird beatboxer.
