:00:11. > :00:20.Hi, I'm Ricky with your morning Newsround. The man helping you hear

:00:21. > :00:27.the sounds of nature and good news for the Voice fans ahead of

:00:28. > :00:30.tonight's semi final. This is Newsround.

:00:31. > :00:36.But first to a big change to the law in England and Wales that came in

:00:37. > :00:39.overnight. Same-sex couples are now allowed to get married. Martin has

:00:40. > :00:42.been looking in to the change, which has sparked some strong views from

:00:43. > :00:44.people on both sides of the argument.

:00:45. > :00:49.I am now happy to announce that you are now legally married. These

:00:50. > :00:53.people have celebrated getting married. Until now, two men or two

:00:54. > :00:59.women have not been allowed to married each other. Now, the law has

:01:00. > :01:02.changed. While there were celebrations for those getting

:01:03. > :01:06.married, not everyone is happy with the change. Those against it,

:01:07. > :01:11.including many religious groups, say that marriage has been between a man

:01:12. > :01:15.and woman for hundreds of years and shouldn't be altered. Up until

:01:16. > :01:19.today, same-sex couples could only have a civil partnership, which

:01:20. > :01:24.gives similar rights but isn't exactly the same rights as marriage.

:01:25. > :01:28.Despite the change in the law, it will be up to the individual

:01:29. > :01:32.religious organisations to choose whether or not they want to hold

:01:33. > :01:36.ceremonies for gay people. Some, like the Church of England, and the

:01:37. > :01:41.Roman Catholic Church, say they will not marry gay couples. Attitudes to

:01:42. > :01:47.gay people vary across the world. 16 countries currently allow same-sex

:01:48. > :01:51.marriage but in others such as Iran and Nigeria, it is illegal for a man

:01:52. > :01:57.to have a relationship with a man or a woman with a woman. Scotland has

:01:58. > :02:00.also voted to make gay marriage legal but there are no plans to do

:02:01. > :02:03.the same in Northern Ireland. Russia says it no intention of

:02:04. > :02:06.sending troops further into Ukraine after an hour long phone call

:02:07. > :02:10.between their leader Vladimir Putin and US president Barack Obama.

:02:11. > :02:13.There's been a lot of unrest in Ukraine between people in the

:02:14. > :02:16.country who support closer ties to Russia and those who don't. Russian

:02:17. > :02:20.forces recently took control of Crimea, in southern Ukraine,

:02:21. > :02:23.something Obama said was illegal. The two men discussed a US-backed

:02:24. > :02:27.plan for Russia to stop to its military build-up on the Ukraine

:02:28. > :02:30.border. It's seen as a sign that the crisis could be solved through

:02:31. > :02:40.talks. Next up, smashing a world record

:02:41. > :02:43.doesn't get better than this. This is Lisa Dennis one of Great

:02:44. > :02:47.Britain's taekwondo world champions and she's attempting to break 1,000

:02:48. > :02:50.of these tiles in 90 seconds with her bare hands or knuckles. After a

:02:51. > :02:53.shaky start and rather a lot of noise, Lisa managed smash the

:02:54. > :02:58.records. She broke through 1,000 tiles in 84 seconds.

:02:59. > :03:02.Now it's spring and lots of you will have started to hear the birds

:03:03. > :03:05.singing in the trees each morning. But if you don't live in the

:03:06. > :03:09.countryside you might not get to hear it all that much. A survey from

:03:10. > :03:13.the National Trust says nearly half of people who live in cities feel

:03:14. > :03:16.they don't get to enjoy nature enough. So they've come up with an

:03:17. > :03:19.album featuring animal and insect sounds. But there's a big

:03:20. > :03:25.difference, the sounds haven't been made by animals but by beatboxer

:03:26. > :03:29.Jason Singh. Watch this. Well, the birds that you are likely

:03:30. > :03:33.to hear our blackbirds, woodpeckers and buzzards. A woodpecker sounds

:03:34. > :03:41.like this... A black bird sounds like this... And a buzzard sounds

:03:42. > :03:47.like this... I love that so much, Jason. Tell us more. It's a National

:03:48. > :03:49.trust campaign for spring, getting everybody excited and becoming aware

:03:50. > :03:58.offspring and getting people outdoors, experiencing National

:03:59. > :04:03.trust sites. It's about getting out and getting some fresh air. We saw

:04:04. > :04:07.you in action. How did you first find out you could do this? It's

:04:08. > :04:12.something I practice all the time. I'm fascinated by sound. I love all

:04:13. > :04:15.kind of sound, mechanical, natural, rhythms and beads, melodies, and

:04:16. > :04:22.it's about practising those. I've been doing it since I was ten years

:04:23. > :04:26.old. I have annoyed everyone! We are going to put you to the test now.

:04:27. > :04:34.These are some quick sounds I would like you to recreate. A wood pigeon.

:04:35. > :04:50.OK, here we go... What about cooking? Oh, gosh. Here we go. What

:04:51. > :04:59.about a blackbird? A blackbird... I was going to give it a go but I just

:05:00. > :05:05.don't think I should... . It's a fantastic talent but what

:05:06. > :05:19.else can you do? I love creating all sorts of natural phenomena, like the

:05:20. > :05:25.breeze. The C... -- the sea... I love beats as well. Drum patterns.

:05:26. > :05:30.That is awesome. Thanks so much for coming in.

:05:31. > :05:34.Good news, Voice fans, BBC bosses have said the hit show will return

:05:35. > :05:37.for another two series. They've just announced the plans ahead of the

:05:38. > :05:40.live semi-finals tonight for this year's contestants. Each artist will

:05:41. > :05:43.perform one song before a group number with their team and superstar

:05:44. > :05:47.coach. The audience decide who'll make it through to the final.

:05:48. > :05:51.That's all from the Saturday team for now. Stay with us because we've

:05:52. > :05:55.got a Newsround Special coming up next. With some powerful scenes, Nel

:05:56. > :05:59.reports from Kabul in Afghanistan, the city where she was born, to meet

:06:00. > :06:03.children who are growing up with war around them. Here is

:06:04. > :06:07.I'm travelling thousands of miles back to where I was born.

:06:08. > :06:12.Since then, it's become one of the most dangerous places in the world.

:06:13. > :06:17.For over a decade, British soldiers have been fighting here,

:06:18. > :06:22.but this year, 2014, the British Army will leave.

:06:23. > :06:25.I'm going back to the capital city Kabul
