:00:08. > :00:11.afternoon bulletin. Loads on the way for you, including: Why the

:00:11. > :00:20.Netherlands are turning orange. And the big question answered - do

:00:20. > :00:22.big cats like playing with boxes? First, it's good news for bees

:00:22. > :00:26.across Europe this afternoon after politicians voted to ban chemicals

:00:27. > :00:35.that may be killing them. These pesticides used to protect crops

:00:35. > :00:38.will be restricted for two years. Bee numbers have plummeted recently,

:00:38. > :00:41.and this matters to all of us because they pollinate the crops we

:00:41. > :00:44.eat. The UK government was against the decision, arguing that there

:00:44. > :00:47.wasn't enough evidence that the chemicals harmed bees. Some farmers

:00:47. > :00:52.are worried that any ban will damage the production of food because crops

:00:53. > :01:01.will not be protected from insects. They say bees could be dying for

:01:01. > :01:05.many reasons. Last summer was a dreadful summer. The bees were not

:01:05. > :01:09.well fed, because it was raining every day. There are lots of other

:01:10. > :01:13.things that might be impacting it, as well as this. It is not proven

:01:13. > :01:16.that it is that insecticide that is the problem.

:01:16. > :01:19.Staying outdoors, should gardening be taught in schools? It's just one

:01:19. > :01:22.of many proposals being set out in a new national curriculum. From

:01:22. > :01:26.growing fruit and veg to tending to flowerbeds, the idea would be to

:01:26. > :01:30.teach all schoolkids where food comes from. Joe has been to a school

:01:30. > :01:34.in Stockport that grows and eats veg all year round.

:01:34. > :01:39.Lesson time, but for this class, you will not need ends and pencils, you

:01:39. > :01:43.will need gardening forks and watering cans. At this school,

:01:43. > :01:48.learning about celery and mushrooms is as normal as science and maths.

:01:48. > :01:55.Kids here are regularly let loose on the school garden, and some have

:01:55. > :02:02.become pardoning experts. The worms help the plants to grow. Snails eat

:02:02. > :02:05.the plans. This is not the only school to give gardening lessons,

:02:05. > :02:09.but some Bebo think every school in the country should teach kids how to

:02:09. > :02:13.grow fruit and veg and ten to the garden as part of regular lessons.

:02:13. > :02:17.Next year, the national curriculum, which teachers use to plan lessons,

:02:17. > :02:21.is being changed. The government is proposing to make learning how to

:02:21. > :02:25.grow and cook food a normal part of school. You are not the only school

:02:25. > :02:31.that does this, but do you think it should be rolled out across the

:02:31. > :02:33.country? Yes, but it would be nicer if schools wanted to do this because

:02:33. > :02:39.they see the value, rather than doing it because they have to. These

:02:39. > :02:43.kids think it is a great idea. I noticed that you are right in there

:02:43. > :02:47.in the mucky duck and the result was crawling up your leg, but you don't

:02:47. > :02:54.mind? I really don't mind. I like gardening, because you get a chance

:02:54. > :02:57.to get out in the fresh air. This is one idea out of lots of changes the

:02:57. > :03:01.government is considering bringing in next summer. By then, these guys

:03:01. > :03:05.will already have produced and eaten a whole season's worth of delicious

:03:05. > :03:07.school growing grub. So, do you think this is a good or

:03:07. > :03:09.bad idea? Let us know on the website.

:03:09. > :03:15.Next, the Netherlands is turning orange tomorrow. It's all because

:03:15. > :03:21.the country is getting a new king. Orange fever sweeps the Netherlands

:03:21. > :03:24.as the country gears up for tomorrow's celebrations. On Tuesday,

:03:24. > :03:29.Queen Beatrix will step down from being head of the royal family after

:03:29. > :03:35.33 years on the throne. Her son, Prince Willem-Alexander, will become

:03:35. > :03:38.king. He will be the country's first king for more than 100 years. His

:03:38. > :03:42.coronation takes place on Queen's Day, one of the biggest and most

:03:42. > :03:46.colourful festivals in the Netherlands. Orange is the official

:03:46. > :03:56.colour of the Royal Dutch family, and it is not hard to get your hands

:03:56. > :03:56.

:03:56. > :04:06.on some rather fetching memorabilia. Orange and black everywhere. How

:04:06. > :04:08.

:04:08. > :04:12.does that look? Queen Beatrix, who recently turned 75, said it was time

:04:12. > :04:15.for her to lay down her crown. This kind of thing isn't unusual in the

:04:15. > :04:18.Netherlands. Both her mother and grandmother also chose to abdicate.

:04:18. > :04:22.But it's a very different story here. The last time a member of the

:04:22. > :04:25.British royal family resigned was almost 80 years ago. King Edward

:04:25. > :04:29.VIII's decision to step down from the throne left the country in

:04:29. > :04:37.crisis. The mood back then was somewhat different to the feelgood

:04:38. > :04:41.vibe on the streets of Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands.

:04:41. > :04:45.So tomorrow morning, a sea of orange will make its way through the

:04:45. > :04:48.capital as the King is crowned. Finally, it's well known that pet

:04:48. > :04:52.cats like playing in boxes, but what about big cats such as tigers and

:04:52. > :04:55.leopards? An animal sanctuary in Florida decided to find out. They
