:00:00. > :00:17.Hello, you are alive with Newsround on CBBC on Thursday morning. Blast
:00:18. > :00:27.off to the International Space Station. And Sydney is lit up at
:00:28. > :00:30.night. First, it has ridden on the back of elephants in Sri Lanka and
:00:31. > :00:37.dived deep into the Indian Ocean, but this morning the Queen's baton
:00:38. > :00:43.scaled new heights and headed to the summit of Snowdon. They reached the
:00:44. > :00:50.summit at about half an hour ago. Next, they are the biggest boy band
:00:51. > :00:58.on the planet and last night One Direction landed in the East of
:00:59. > :01:03.England kicking off their UK tour. A clean-up operation is well and
:01:04. > :01:08.truly underway behind me, but that is what happens when One Direction
:01:09. > :01:14.come to town. The atmosphere is completely different to yesterday
:01:15. > :01:20.and it is a lot quieter. Most noticeably it is drier. Thousands of
:01:21. > :01:31.fans got soaked, but that was not going to spoil the party. One
:01:32. > :01:36.Direction are the biggest pop group on the planet right now. They have
:01:37. > :01:44.been back in Britain, opening Radio 1's big weekend and showing off
:01:45. > :01:51.their new movie. Where ever they go, their army of fans follow them. Now
:01:52. > :01:56.just a year after their new single, they are selling out stadiums. Last
:01:57. > :02:01.month they visited seven countries in South America before going to
:02:02. > :02:08.Ireland. And now their world tour has come to the UK at Sunderland's
:02:09. > :02:16.football club. Before the concert I caught up with fans who came all the
:02:17. > :02:22.way from Leeds. I like how they look and they are very handsome and I
:02:23. > :02:33.like their songs. The show has sold out, but you will be getting a
:02:34. > :02:39.special review. They have just come out of the concert. What was it
:02:40. > :02:48.like? Really good and lots of people screaming and lots of fireworks. It
:02:49. > :02:53.started off with another band, and then when it got to One Direction
:02:54. > :03:06.everybody started screaming. Would you see them again? If I was allowed
:03:07. > :03:12.to. Definitely, definitely. They had fun, but so did One Direction. They
:03:13. > :03:19.tweeted, Sunderland, thank you very much, that show was amazing, one of
:03:20. > :03:24.my favourite grounds in England. The next city to get One Direction mania
:03:25. > :03:29.is Manchester and then they head to Edinburgh and finally London. Then
:03:30. > :03:36.they head off to Europe and then North America. There is no rest for
:03:37. > :03:41.the biggest boy band in the world. And from one amazing show to
:03:42. > :03:46.another, this is Sydney's famous opera house which was given a
:03:47. > :03:53.colourful make over as part of the city's Festival of light. It
:03:54. > :03:58.included a ballerina that could walk on water. A Russian space rocket has
:03:59. > :04:04.docked at the International Space Station. On-board was a Russian
:04:05. > :04:12.cosmonaut and a German astronaut from the European Space Agency. They
:04:13. > :04:16.are going to orbit for six months. CBBC live in Newcastle Gateshead is
:04:17. > :04:20.kicking off today and Ayshah is there.
:04:21. > :04:28.Welcome to Baltic Square where thousands of people will be here for
:04:29. > :04:34.CBBC live. We will be taking over. Blue Peter, Sam and Mark and even
:04:35. > :04:40.Hacker the dog and some special Newsround bulletins as well. We will
:04:41. > :04:46.be talking to local kids from this area about the issues that matter to
:04:47. > :04:51.them. We will be trying to get the celebrities on Newsround as well.
:04:52. > :04:57.Stay tuned and at 4:20pm Ricky will be here and myself for CBBC live in
:04:58. > :05:00.Newcastle Gateshead. We are back this afternoon live from
:05:01. > :05:02.the North East.
