0:00:03 > 0:00:07Good morning, it's Thursday, I'm Jenny and this is Newsround.

0:00:07 > 0:00:09Don't go anywhere!

0:00:09 > 0:00:14Coming up, Birmingham gets the perfect new arrival.

0:00:14 > 0:00:17And wakeboarders in Germany hit some unusual spots.

0:00:25 > 0:00:28With Wimbledon starting in just a few days, let's begin with a bit

0:00:28 > 0:00:30of sport this morning.

0:00:30 > 0:00:34World number one Andy Murray has been named as the top seed in

0:00:34 > 0:00:36the men's competition for Wimbledon.

0:00:36 > 0:00:38That means he's the favourite to win.

0:00:38 > 0:00:41It would be his third title at the All-England club.

0:00:41 > 0:00:43In the women's competition, British number one Jo Konta

0:00:43 > 0:00:46is the sixth seed.

0:00:46 > 0:00:49The 19-time world and Olympic champion Usain Bolt made his first

0:00:49 > 0:00:53appearance of the season in Europe last night, in the Czech

0:00:53 > 0:00:56city of Ostrava.

0:00:56 > 0:00:59And the Jamaican world record holder won in the 100 metres.

0:00:59 > 0:01:01Course he did!

0:01:01 > 0:01:03He's getting ready for the World Championships

0:01:03 > 0:01:05in London in August, after which he'll retire.

0:01:05 > 0:01:10I'm just getting into my running now from training, but I'll be fine.

0:01:10 > 0:01:13When I get checked out by my doctor, the coach

0:01:13 > 0:01:15give me some training, I

0:01:15 > 0:01:18should be fine, so I'm in no worries.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21Next up, just before last Christmas, we told you about some very special

0:01:21 > 0:01:24penguins that travelled to a new home in Birmingham.

0:01:24 > 0:01:27Well, now there's been another new arrival.

0:01:27 > 0:01:29This cutie.

0:01:29 > 0:01:31Here's Hayley.

0:01:31 > 0:01:34A baby penguin chick cuddles up to his mum and dad at

0:01:34 > 0:01:36the Sea Life Centre in Birmingham.

0:01:36 > 0:01:39They might look pretty chilled out, but his parents took an

0:01:39 > 0:01:41epic journey to get here.

0:01:41 > 0:01:44This group of gentoo penguins used to live in

0:01:44 > 0:01:47places like Denmark, Canada and New Zealand,

0:01:47 > 0:01:48but they were moved to their new

0:01:48 > 0:01:54home in Birmingham as part a worldwide breeding programme.

0:01:54 > 0:01:57home in Birmingham as part of a worldwide breeding programme.

0:01:57 > 0:01:58It wasn't an easy journey.

0:01:58 > 0:02:01The penguins had to be moved across the world in a

0:02:01 > 0:02:02special van to keep them cool.

0:02:02 > 0:02:05Well, that was last year, and now, this little cutie is the first baby

0:02:05 > 0:02:07born to the group.

0:02:07 > 0:02:09Keepers are hoping for some brothers and sisters to

0:02:09 > 0:02:13keep this furry family growing.

0:02:13 > 0:02:14Fatbergs!

0:02:14 > 0:02:17The super gross collections of fat that join together,

0:02:17 > 0:02:19and clog up our sewers.

0:02:19 > 0:02:21"Eugh," I hear you say!

0:02:21 > 0:02:23Well, now they've gone from yuck to useful,

0:02:23 > 0:02:26and are being turned into something a lot more valuable.

0:02:26 > 0:02:32Watch this.

0:02:32 > 0:02:37Deep below our feet in the sewers underground, something nasty lurks.

0:02:37 > 0:02:41When people pour fat and grease from cooking down the drain, the fat

0:02:41 > 0:02:47clumps together to create massive horrible fatbergs.

0:02:47 > 0:02:52Some fatbergs are huge and creates big problems,

0:02:52 > 0:02:54costing water companies a lot of money to clear away.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56That's about four feet deep down there.

0:02:56 > 0:02:58But now, this sewer sludge is about to be

0:02:58 > 0:03:00changed into something really valuable.

0:03:00 > 0:03:04A fuel company is going around sucking up the fatbergs.

0:03:04 > 0:03:07They are then taken to a special processing plant, where they can be

0:03:07 > 0:03:12turned into a type of car fuel called bio diesel.

0:03:12 > 0:03:14So we've collected a fatberg from a water

0:03:14 > 0:03:15company sewer.

0:03:15 > 0:03:18The vehicle has travelled down, he's come to site, he's now

0:03:18 > 0:03:19tipping.

0:03:19 > 0:03:22There's a lot of solid in this one, so actually he's using the

0:03:22 > 0:03:24tipping truck to tip that in there.

0:03:24 > 0:03:28This is where we receive all those raw materials to turn into biofuel.

0:03:28 > 0:03:32The fat gets heated, pumped and filtered,

0:03:32 > 0:03:37removing all the sludge and slime.

0:03:37 > 0:03:40So we've removed all of the solids, all of the liquid and we're

0:03:40 > 0:03:43left with a really clean oil that looks a little bit like this.

0:03:43 > 0:03:45From this...to this.

0:03:45 > 0:03:49Pretty remarkable.

0:03:49 > 0:03:52The bio diesel is way cleaner for the

0:03:52 > 0:03:55environment than regular diesel, and this plant can make up

0:03:55 > 0:03:57to 90 million litres a year.

0:03:57 > 0:04:00But are there enough slimy fatbergs around?

0:04:00 > 0:04:02I guess it's difficult to say.

0:04:02 > 0:04:05As part of the trial, we've been taking about 30

0:04:05 > 0:04:12tonnes a week out of Birmingham.

0:04:12 > 0:04:14That's 30 tonnes of fatbergs from just Birmingham every week.

0:04:14 > 0:04:16I don't know whether to be disgusted or

0:04:16 > 0:04:17impressed.

0:04:17 > 0:04:19So, from yuk to useful, fatbergs are being turned into

0:04:19 > 0:04:23something pretty nifty.

0:04:23 > 0:04:26Finally, what do you do if you're an international cable

0:04:26 > 0:04:28wakeboarder in Germany?

0:04:28 > 0:04:31Search for new fancy spots to wakeboard, of course!

0:04:31 > 0:04:34For two weeks, six of the best international cable wakeboarders

0:04:34 > 0:04:38slid, jumped and flipped in search of unusual places to explore.

0:04:38 > 0:04:42They travelled 2,000 kilometres, with spectacular obstacles and some

0:04:42 > 0:04:45pretty cool backdrops.

0:04:45 > 0:04:48That's all from the team for now, Newsround's back right here at 8.15.

0:04:48 > 0:04:50Don't forget, you can head online for all the rest

0:04:50 > 0:04:52of the day's top stories.

0:04:52 > 0:04:52Bye!
