:00:35. > :00:40.A footprint that is thought to be tens of millions of years old,

:00:41. > :00:49.TRANSLATION: The Abelisaurs were the great carnivores of the end

:00:50. > :00:51.of the Cretaceous period, in the southern hemisphere.

:00:52. > :00:54.Footprints this large have never been reported.

:00:55. > :00:57.Their normal size was around nine metres - large animals.

:00:58. > :01:00.However, the footprints we found were for an animal

:01:01. > :01:04.that easily exceeds 10 or even 12 metres.

:01:05. > :01:07.The Abelisaurus was similar to the Tyrannosaurus rex,

:01:08. > :01:11.both part of the theropod group of dinosaurs.

:01:12. > :01:15.Like the T Rex, it is believed to have lived in the late

:01:16. > :01:20.Cretaceous period, somewhere around 60 million to 80 million years ago.

:01:21. > :01:22.While its more famous cousin roamed North America,

:01:23. > :01:27.Abelisaurus could be found in South America.

:01:28. > :01:30.Thousands of footprints have been found in this area before,

:01:31. > :01:36.Children are now getting the chance to see replica dinosaurs.
