0:00:11 > 0:00:14Hey, everyone, Leah here with Monday's Newsround.

0:00:14 > 0:00:16If you've been out cycling this weekend and fancy hearing

0:00:16 > 0:00:19from a pro in the sport, then this is for you.

0:00:19 > 0:00:23Callum Skinner won a gold and a silver medal in this summer's

0:00:23 > 0:00:25Olympics and, now that he's back from Rio, three cycling fans went

0:00:27 > 0:00:31to meet him to find out what it's like being an Olympic cyclist.

0:00:31 > 0:00:33Who is going to claim the gold medal here in Rio?

0:00:33 > 0:00:35Up towards the line

0:00:35 > 0:00:37and the gold medal goes to Great Britain.

0:00:37 > 0:00:39Have you always wanted to be an Olympic track cyclist?

0:00:39 > 0:00:41Not really.

0:00:41 > 0:00:44I just kind of did lots of sport for fun.

0:00:44 > 0:00:46So I did pretty much everything I could have a go of,

0:00:46 > 0:00:49so I did fencing, badminton, rugby, kayaking even.

0:00:49 > 0:00:52The trick is just to find something you enjoy.

0:00:52 > 0:00:55I'm lucky enough that a hobby has turned into a career and it is going

0:00:55 > 0:00:57pretty well so far.

0:00:57 > 0:01:00Just find something you enjoy and if you love it

0:01:00 > 0:01:01it should go well.

0:01:01 > 0:01:03What is your favourite track event, keirin or sprint?

0:01:03 > 0:01:04The sprint.

0:01:04 > 0:01:07The keirin didn't go too well for me.

0:01:07 > 0:01:10I got disqualified for pulling a bit of a manoeuvre so

0:01:10 > 0:01:12sprint is definitely my favourite.

0:01:12 > 0:01:15What was your first cycling club?

0:01:15 > 0:01:17I started at a club called the Edinburgh Racers,

0:01:17 > 0:01:19which is based at a velodrome called Meadowbank.

0:01:19 > 0:01:22That used to be the only velodrome in the UK

0:01:22 > 0:01:25and it was outdoors so we couldn't use it in the winter.

0:01:25 > 0:01:28The first time I showed up was actually in autumn

0:01:28 > 0:01:30and they said the velodrome is closed for six months

0:01:30 > 0:01:31so come back later.

0:01:31 > 0:01:34Luckily, there are a lot of tracks now in the UK now you can

0:01:34 > 0:01:35have a go at.

0:01:35 > 0:01:38How many hours a week do you train for?

0:01:38 > 0:01:43We do maybe three full days a week and then the rest are half days.

0:01:43 > 0:01:46We don't actually do that much because

0:01:46 > 0:01:49the sprinters we only do efforts for a few seconds at a time

0:01:49 > 0:01:52or we are in the gym.

0:01:52 > 0:01:59So they are quite leisurely.

0:01:59 > 0:02:00Meet Gobi the dog.

0:02:00 > 0:02:03She surprised this marathon runner when she randomly started running

0:02:03 > 0:02:05with him and they became the best of friends.

0:02:05 > 0:02:07But there was a little twist in the tail.

0:02:07 > 0:02:08Here's Naz with more.

0:02:08 > 0:02:12You could say it was love at first stride.

0:02:12 > 0:02:16When Dion Leonard went to China

0:02:16 > 0:02:19to run a gruelling 150-mile marathon, little did he know

0:02:19 > 0:02:22he would make a friend.

0:02:22 > 0:02:26She ran half the race with me.

0:02:26 > 0:02:29We spent the whole week together and literally either by the side

0:02:29 > 0:02:31running or in the evening she was in my arms

0:02:31 > 0:02:34during the night, sleeping and eating with me.

0:02:34 > 0:02:36But there was a little twist in the tail.

0:02:36 > 0:02:38Dion wanted to bring Gobi the dog back home

0:02:38 > 0:02:41with him to Scotland but first it had to go into Chinese

0:02:41 > 0:02:44quarantine to make sure it was healthy enough to travel.

0:02:44 > 0:02:47But it escaped.

0:02:47 > 0:02:50As Dion loved Gobi so much, he went off to find her.

0:02:50 > 0:02:53First stop, where she was last seen - a busy city with lots of

0:02:53 > 0:02:55dogs, so it was tough.

0:02:55 > 0:03:00I've been out handing these since 6am and actually looking

0:03:00 > 0:03:02around the parks and local areas

0:03:02 > 0:03:07for the dogs and speaking to locals who actually think they have

0:03:07 > 0:03:09seen Gobi but unfortunately it isn't Gobi.

0:03:09 > 0:03:12But then it went viral on social media and before long Dion had some

0:03:12 > 0:03:17leads and Gobi was found.

0:03:17 > 0:03:19This lovely father and son had found her and we went out

0:03:19 > 0:03:21to see her.

0:03:21 > 0:03:24She ran across the land and basically ran straight into my arms.

0:03:24 > 0:03:26She was so excited to see me and I had just

0:03:26 > 0:03:29walked in the door, I hadn't said a word to her,

0:03:29 > 0:03:31so she knew it was me straightaway.

0:03:31 > 0:03:33So Gobi is now finally getting ready to move to Scotland.

0:03:33 > 0:03:41I think the first command Dion will be teaching her...stay!

0:03:41 > 0:03:45Now to the team of scientists who spent a year living in a dome

0:03:45 > 0:03:47in Hawaii without any fresh food, fresh air or privacy,

0:03:47 > 0:03:52and they managed to complete everything still smiling.

0:03:52 > 0:03:55It was all to find out what life might be like living on one

0:03:55 > 0:03:57of our solar systems most volatile planets - Mars.

0:03:57 > 0:04:00The good news is they now believe after surviving this experiment

0:04:00 > 0:04:02humans will be able to travel to the Red Planet

0:04:02 > 0:04:04in as little as three years.

0:04:04 > 0:04:07The UH research going on up here is just super vital when

0:04:07 > 0:04:09it comes to picking crews, figuring how

0:04:09 > 0:04:12people are going to work on different kinds of missions,

0:04:12 > 0:04:16sort of the human factors element of space travel,

0:04:16 > 0:04:17colonisation, whatever it is you're

0:04:17 > 0:04:20actually looking at.

0:04:20 > 0:04:22Formula 1 now, because Lewis Hamilton fought his way

0:04:22 > 0:04:24from the back row of the grid to finish third

0:04:24 > 0:04:26at the Belgian Grand Prix.

0:04:26 > 0:04:29His Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg started on pole and led

0:04:29 > 0:04:36to the finish, cutting Hamilton's championship lead to nine points.

0:04:36 > 0:04:38The new England manager Sam Allardyce has named his first

0:04:38 > 0:04:42squad since taking over from Roy Hodgson.

0:04:42 > 0:04:44Uncapped West Ham winger Michail Antonio has been

0:04:44 > 0:04:47given his first call-up.

0:04:47 > 0:04:50There's a return for Luke Shaw, Phil Jagielka, Danny Drinkwater

0:04:50 > 0:04:53and Theo Walcott to the England squad but Everton's Ross Barkley

0:04:53 > 0:04:57has NOT been selected.

0:04:57 > 0:05:00This is one of the UK's best-loved butterflies but the numbers of them

0:05:00 > 0:05:04seen in UK gardens this summer have gone done dramatically.

0:05:04 > 0:05:09It's thought that the decline of the small copper

0:05:09 > 0:05:11tortoiseshell butterfly is down to this year's cooler summer

0:05:11 > 0:05:15affecting the way the insects reproduce and feed.

0:05:15 > 0:05:18It is one of my favourite butterflies and I feel really sad

0:05:18 > 0:05:20that it has almost disappeared from the garden.

0:05:20 > 0:05:23We have seen just two this year and in previous years we

0:05:23 > 0:05:26used to see them...probably the most frequently seen butterfly because it

0:05:26 > 0:05:29comes out three times a year and so they are

0:05:29 > 0:05:32often around the place, or used to be,

0:05:32 > 0:05:34and now it is gone.

0:05:34 > 0:05:37If you're a Lego fan then you're going to love this.

0:05:37 > 0:05:39In Portugal, kids can get an up-close look at the country's

0:05:39 > 0:05:41largest Lego city.

0:05:41 > 0:05:44The exhibition is made up of medieval towns,

0:05:44 > 0:05:47film set recreations and locomotives.

0:05:47 > 0:05:49With approximately five million colourful pieces of Lego,

0:05:49 > 0:05:53it's been designed and built by one single collector.

0:05:53 > 0:05:54That's all from me.

0:05:54 > 0:05:58I'll be back for at 4:20pm.
