:00:36. > :00:39.Now in the country's biggest city, Aleppo, there are signs that it

:00:40. > :00:49.Leah's been looking at what's happening to children there.

:00:50. > :00:53.For more than five years, Syria has been at war.

:00:54. > :00:56.Different groups are fighting for power and control

:00:57. > :01:05.Meanwhile, millions of Syrians have been forced to leave the country

:01:06. > :01:08.and find a safer place to live, but some families have had no choice

:01:09. > :01:14.Around four million people live in Aleppo today.

:01:15. > :01:22.Right now, Aleppo is split with a number of groups controlling

:01:23. > :01:25.different parts of the city and there's awful fighting

:01:26. > :01:31.The BBC's James Longman is in Lebanon, a country next to Syria.

:01:32. > :01:37.He's been reporting on the crisis in the area.

:01:38. > :01:39.You can see how many buildings have been destroyed

:01:40. > :01:47.People living there have been cut off from food, from

:01:48. > :01:50.medicine, from fuel to run their cars,

:01:51. > :01:52.so life has been very, very difficult.

:01:53. > :01:55.As you can see from these pictures, much of Aleppo has been destroyed.

:01:56. > :01:58.Bombs have been dropped onto streets, killing

:01:59. > :02:03.people and leaving behind these large craters.

:02:04. > :02:06.Many children are the victims of this conflict.

:02:07. > :02:12.Hospitals here are struggling to cope.

:02:13. > :02:20.Syrians tend to have big families and there are lots of children are

:02:21. > :02:22.some say maybe half of all the people who have been killed in

:02:23. > :02:25.eastern Aleppo are children. Hospitals here are struggling

:02:26. > :02:29.to cope. Parts of the city have no clean

:02:30. > :02:32.water and vital supplies like food Still these children are trying

:02:33. > :02:36.to get by and doing what they can Some say compared to five years ago,

:02:37. > :02:41.the city is hardly recognisable and no one knows when this conflict

:02:42. > :02:49.will come to an end. Don't forget if anything
