:00:00. > :00:12.Hi, I'm Leah. This is Newsround. First to Somerset in south-west
:00:13. > :00:16.England, where the military is on stand-by to help communities
:00:17. > :00:19.affected by the severe flooding. If they are needed, they will bring in
:00:20. > :00:29.supplies and sandbags to keep the water away. In the village of
:00:30. > :00:33.Muchelney, it's so badly flooded that the only way to get to school
:00:34. > :00:36.is by boat. We've spent the morning with Emily and Gemma, who live
:00:37. > :00:42.there. Our school is in line and report but now dozens of loads we
:00:43. > :00:47.have to take a boat. We don't know when the water will go away but we
:00:48. > :00:51.hope it is soon we'll have to do keep getting the boat. And you can
:00:52. > :00:53.see that whole report over on the Newsround website.
:00:54. > :00:57.Next, it's one of the most common food allergies in the world, and
:00:58. > :01:01.chances are there will be someone in your school who isn't allowed to eat
:01:02. > :01:05.them. It's thought that one in fifty children is allergic to peanuts, and
:01:06. > :01:08.it can be very dangerous for them to even eat a tiny amount. But doctors
:01:09. > :01:11.at a hospital in Cambridge think they are a step closer to finding a
:01:12. > :01:19.cure. Martin has more. They are pretty easy to identify but
:01:20. > :01:25.they can be hidden in all sorts of food and if you are allergic you
:01:26. > :01:30.have to be really careful. Tom had an analogy which had a massive
:01:31. > :01:38.effect on his life. I could get swelling monoliths and Tonga. It was
:01:39. > :01:47.really tough. -- swelling on my lips and tongue. I had to be really
:01:48. > :01:53.careful about other kids lunch boxes. But for Tom it has changed,
:01:54. > :01:59.he can now eat peanuts because he took part in a special trial carried
:02:00. > :02:05.out by doctors at a hospital in Cambridge. 99 children took part in
:02:06. > :02:12.a five-year study to find out a way to cure peanut allergies. We kissed
:02:13. > :02:15.them a tiny amount of peanut and we increased the dose every two weeks
:02:16. > :02:22.so by the end of three or four months they could eat up to 5pm
:02:23. > :02:29.today. It is a vital you don't try this at home. It can only be done
:02:30. > :02:40.under supervision in hospital. I enjoy eating now without worrying
:02:41. > :02:44.about if it will harm me. But it is important to remember that this
:02:45. > :02:51.trial was carried out safely by medical experts. It would be very
:02:52. > :02:55.dangerous to try this on your own. Many tests are still needed before
:02:56. > :02:57.this type of treatment becomes more widespread.
:02:58. > :02:59.That's all from me. Ayshah is back right here at 7:40 tomorrow morning.
:03:00. > :03:01.Bye!
