:00:09. > :00:10.Good morning, Ricky here, live with your Saturday morning

:00:11. > :00:17.First this morning to a brand new theory about how our

:00:18. > :00:21.Scientists in California say that Earth is made up of two

:00:22. > :00:23.planets that collided four and a half billion years ago.

:00:24. > :00:26.The impact between Earth and a baby planet called Theia was so strong -

:00:27. > :00:30.Researchers say a chunk of that was knocked

:00:31. > :00:42.British Astronaut Tim Peake is getting stuck into lots

:00:43. > :00:44.of science experiments up on the International Space Station.

:00:45. > :00:48.He's taken more than a million seeds of rocket up to space with them

:00:49. > :00:50.and will be handing them out to more than 10,000 schools

:00:51. > :01:10.From the time British astronaut Tim Peake blasted off into space, he has

:01:11. > :01:15.been keeping us entertained with the science behind his mission, from

:01:16. > :01:19.telling us how to go to the toilet in space to his epic spacewalk, now

:01:20. > :01:23.he is asking for your help with his project. Now the seeds are on the

:01:24. > :01:26.International Space Station, I will pack them up at the end of the

:01:27. > :01:30.Mission and send them Back to Earth and when they arrive they would be

:01:31. > :01:35.sent to thousands of schools to grow alongside the seeds that have not

:01:36. > :01:39.been up here in space as part of our special experiment. Kids here are

:01:40. > :01:47.among those from 10,000 schools in the UK taking part. We are going to

:01:48. > :01:51.get a packet of these space seeds. When Tim Peake comes back down from

:01:52. > :01:56.earth we will do some experiments. I can't wait to plant it and see how

:01:57. > :01:59.it grows to stop I have watched every broadcasting is done and I am

:02:00. > :02:05.really excited and my aim is to be like him. I am looking forward to

:02:06. > :02:11.testing it out. In space it is different to earth, I think that

:02:12. > :02:16.once they plant the rocket seeds, instead of the stem going up, it

:02:17. > :02:22.will go down. That is what I am thinking. At the moment, getting

:02:23. > :02:25.food in space is not an easy job and packets of food don't exactly look

:02:26. > :02:31.very appetising! It is hoped that the work these people are doing will

:02:32. > :02:32.help astronauts grow their own food on the International Space Station.

:02:33. > :02:35.Good luck! At the Australian Open

:02:36. > :02:38.Scotland's Gordon Reid has won And he might pick up another trophy

:02:39. > :02:43.because he's playing in the doubles That's all from me, Newsround's back

:02:44. > :02:52.right here on CBBC at five past 12.
