0:01:50 > 0:01:55This thing can carry around 470,000 barrels of oil a day.

0:01:55 > 0:01:58Its supporters, including US President Donald Trump,

0:01:58 > 0:02:02say the pipeline is the safest way to transport oil to the rest

0:02:02 > 0:02:06of the country and cheaper than carrying barrels by train.

0:02:06 > 0:02:08But not everyone agrees.

0:02:08 > 0:02:10Many think the pipeline has the potential to

0:02:10 > 0:02:13pollute the environment.

0:02:13 > 0:02:16Thousands of protesters against the bill, including

0:02:16 > 0:02:25the Native American tribes who live at Standing Rock.

0:02:25 > 0:02:27They have been joined by other Native American

0:02:27 > 0:02:28groups and campaigners.

0:02:28 > 0:02:30They argue the pipeline could destroy sacred religious sites

0:02:30 > 0:02:33and pollute their main water supply from the Missouri River,

0:02:33 > 0:02:34if there was ever a leak.
