0:00:18 > 0:00:21If you're a Huddersfield Town fan then yesterday could well have
0:00:21 > 0:00:24been one of the best days of your life so far.
0:00:24 > 0:00:25And here's why.
0:00:25 > 0:00:27It was a tense penalty shootout after a nil-nil draw,
0:00:27 > 0:00:30and Jordan Obita's effort was saved by Danny Ward, it was then
0:00:30 > 0:00:32Christopher Schindler who held his nerve and scored
0:00:32 > 0:00:34to send Huddersfield up to the Premier League.
0:00:34 > 0:00:35Just look at those epic celebrartions!
0:00:35 > 0:00:37Just look at those epic celebrations!
0:00:37 > 0:00:43The West Yorkshire club have not played in the top flight since 1972.
0:00:43 > 0:00:48And as you can imagine manager David Wagner was beyond pleased...
0:00:48 > 0:00:50This is a fairy tale which is usually not
0:00:50 > 0:00:52possible but they've done it and we are very, very happy.
0:00:52 > 0:00:56I'm one of the happiest man on this planet at the minute I think and so
0:00:56 > 0:00:59proud what the players have done and I'm happy for everybody who is
0:00:59 > 0:01:03connected, the supporters of Huddersfield Town.
0:01:05 > 0:01:08It's a tense time for Arsenal fans as they wait to hear if manager
0:01:08 > 0:01:11Arsene Wegners's 21 year stint at the club is going to end.
0:01:11 > 0:01:14Arsene met with the club's owners yesterday and we could hear later
0:01:14 > 0:01:15today if he stays or goes.
0:01:15 > 0:01:18He's faced a lot of criticism during the season and the Gunners
0:01:18 > 0:01:21finished outside the Premier League top four for the first time
0:01:21 > 0:01:22in his being in charge.
0:01:22 > 0:01:25But they beat Chelsea on Saturday to win the FA Cup,
0:01:25 > 0:01:27making him the most successful manager - and Arsenal
0:01:27 > 0:01:32the most successful team - in the competition's history.
0:01:37 > 0:01:41It's less than ten days until adults around the UK will be voting
0:01:41 > 0:01:43on who they want to represent them in Parliament - which will
0:01:43 > 0:01:45also decide which party forms the government.
0:01:45 > 0:01:48And last night the leaders of the two biggest parties came
0:01:48 > 0:01:50together to answer questions from an audience of voters.
0:01:50 > 0:01:52The leader of the Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn was asked
0:01:52 > 0:01:55if he supported the Queen, and about the amount of tax some
0:01:55 > 0:01:56businesses have to pay.
0:01:56 > 0:01:58Meanwhile the current Prime Minister Theresa May,
0:01:58 > 0:02:01from the Conservative Party, was asked if she now supports the UK
0:02:01 > 0:02:04leaving the group of countries called the European Union.
0:02:12 > 0:02:15So we are just over a week away from the general election
0:02:15 > 0:02:18but what exactly happens and what do words like party, constituency
0:02:18 > 0:02:19and MP actually mean?
0:02:19 > 0:02:20Here's Ricky to explain.
0:02:20 > 0:02:21It's almost time for the general election,
0:02:21 > 0:02:22doesn't sound like the
0:02:22 > 0:02:26most exciting thing in the world but it is a huge deal and over
0:02:26 > 0:02:28the next few weeks you will probably hear a
0:02:28 > 0:02:29lot of...
0:02:29 > 0:02:30This election.
0:02:30 > 0:02:31General election.
0:02:31 > 0:02:32General election.
0:02:32 > 0:02:33A bit of
0:02:33 > 0:02:34this...
0:02:34 > 0:02:35MPs...
0:02:35 > 0:02:36the government...
0:02:36 > 0:02:37And almost certainly a few...
0:02:37 > 0:02:38the general election...
0:02:38 > 0:02:39vote...
0:02:39 > 0:02:41So strap in and let me explain what some of
0:02:41 > 0:02:43those words actually mean.
0:02:43 > 0:02:46First up the election.
0:02:46 > 0:02:48A general election usually happens every five years but
0:02:48 > 0:02:49not always.
0:02:49 > 0:02:52It's when people get to decide who should form a government
0:02:52 > 0:02:54and run the country.
0:02:57 > 0:02:59The Prime Minister, he or she is head of the
0:02:59 > 0:03:00government here in the UK.
0:03:00 > 0:03:03That person is responsible for most of the big
0:03:03 > 0:03:04decisions that affect all of us.
0:03:04 > 0:03:06They are in charge of the government.
0:03:06 > 0:03:09BELL TOLLS.
0:03:09 > 0:03:13And is usually formed by the party that wins the election!
0:03:13 > 0:03:17Not that kind of party, you won't find cake and sausage rolls!
0:03:17 > 0:03:20In politics a party is a group of people who share the same ideas.
0:03:20 > 0:03:23There are quite a few parties.
0:03:28 > 0:03:30That takes us on to MPs or members of
0:03:30 > 0:03:31Parliament.
0:03:31 > 0:03:34In fact there are 650 in total, their job is to look after
0:03:34 > 0:03:37the people in their constituency, that's the area people voted for
0:03:37 > 0:03:38them.
0:03:38 > 0:03:41Those MPs also work in the Houses of Parliament which is where
0:03:41 > 0:03:44new laws and ideas on the way the country should be run get talked
0:03:44 > 0:03:46about.
0:03:47 > 0:03:51On election day if you are 18 or over you will get to vote.
0:03:51 > 0:03:53That means you get to choose who you want
0:03:53 > 0:03:56to be your MP, the person who speaks in parliament for the area
0:03:56 > 0:03:57you live.
0:03:57 > 0:04:00But this is nothing like voting for the X Factor or Strictly
0:04:00 > 0:04:01Come Dancing.
0:04:01 > 0:04:04There is no app, you can't use your mobile phone and you
0:04:04 > 0:04:05only have one vote.
0:04:05 > 0:04:07You mark an X on a piece of paper at the polling
0:04:07 > 0:04:10station which is usually inside a school so that means
0:04:10 > 0:04:12on the day of the general election loads of you
0:04:12 > 0:04:14get the day off!
0:04:16 > 0:04:17So there you go - MPs, government, vote...
0:04:17 > 0:04:20Simple!
0:04:25 > 0:04:27Next, to the moment Britain's Got Talent judge and author,
0:04:27 > 0:04:30David Walliams surprised some very lucky children - lets take a look.
0:04:30 > 0:04:33I'm at a school in London and I'm just about to surprise over 200
0:04:33 > 0:04:35schoolchildren.
0:04:39 > 0:04:40Hello, everybody!
0:04:40 > 0:04:42Hey, guys.
0:04:42 > 0:04:43Nice to see you.
0:04:43 > 0:04:45How are you doing?
0:04:45 > 0:04:47All right.
0:04:49 > 0:04:55Just then an evil thought crossed the girl's mind.
0:04:55 > 0:04:58You wicked child, get out, get out of my office at
0:04:58 > 0:05:01once, shoo.
0:05:01 > 0:05:03But as Mindy took each step towards the door she blew a
0:05:03 > 0:05:06little bottom bubble in the direction of the lady.
0:05:06 > 0:05:08One more sound out of you and you will be
0:05:08 > 0:05:09expelled, do you hear me?
0:05:09 > 0:05:12Expelled.
0:05:16 > 0:05:19If any of you guys are into writing stories of your own something to
0:05:19 > 0:05:21remember is to make your baddies funny and maybe make
0:05:21 > 0:05:22them, the scary stuff
0:05:22 > 0:05:26funny too because it creates a balance in the story.
0:05:33 > 0:05:35Keep your eyes and ears open at all times if you
0:05:35 > 0:05:38want to be a writer because you never know when a great
0:05:38 > 0:05:40idea might land in your lap.
0:05:44 > 0:05:46If you are lucky enough to have uncles, aunties,
0:05:46 > 0:05:49grannies, grandads, ask them questions about their life because I
0:05:49 > 0:05:50bet they did loads of exciting things before you ever met them.
0:05:53 > 0:05:55See you later, have a great day.
