:00:24. > :00:29.Hi, guys, Ore here live and all alone. You've made a good choice

:00:29. > :00:35.tuning in, I've got all you need to know. Here is what is in store. The

:00:35. > :00:42.winner of The X Factor 2011 is... Matthew Raymond-Barker, you know...

:00:42. > :00:47.No? Fill you in later. Leah is live at Wimbledon. What you got? Yes, we

:00:47. > :00:51.know who is through to the ladies final and find out why you might

:00:51. > :00:53.need these 3D glasses over the weekend instead of your normal

:00:53. > :00:56.shades. Before all that, it's not the

:00:56. > :01:00.weekend, it's not the school holidays, but loads of you have had

:01:00. > :01:05.an extra day off lessons today. It's because many teachers across

:01:05. > :01:08.England and Wales have gone on strike. At least 12,000 schools

:01:08. > :01:15.were affected, the biggest walkout by teachers in years. Your thoughts

:01:15. > :01:20.coming up. First, Leah has been in the max. Lots of schools have been

:01:20. > :01:24.strangely quiet today. But you can't say the same for the parks.

:01:24. > :01:28.So, why are none of these kids at school?

:01:28. > :01:33.Well, today, teachers and lots of other people paid by the Government

:01:33. > :01:37.like council workers and coastguards, are all on strike.

:01:37. > :01:41.It's OK and I'm enjoying it so far. What about you, Petra, are you

:01:41. > :01:48.happy to have a day off? Yes. I like it when there's days off,

:01:48. > :01:52.don't have to go to school. Don't do hard work. They're protesting

:01:52. > :01:56.because they think the Government's being unfair by changing their

:01:56. > :01:59.pensions. That's the money you get to live on when you eventually stop

:01:59. > :02:04.working. They reckon they'll end up with less money.

:02:04. > :02:07.We need to negotiate on the issues of working longer, paying more and

:02:07. > :02:12.getting less and striking today hopefully will make the Government

:02:12. > :02:17.take that process a lot more seriously than it is at the moment.

:02:17. > :02:21.But the Government says it's fair to ask teachers to pay a bit more.

:02:21. > :02:25.They say their pensions should be more equal to what some workers in

:02:25. > :02:30.other jobs pay. Well, well, well. Loads of you have

:02:30. > :02:34.been telling us your thoughts about the strikes online. 12-year-old

:02:34. > :02:39.Sharon says: It's most unfair that the whole country gets a day off

:02:39. > :02:44.like my sister, whereas I have to do a max exam. Jade who is 13 says,

:02:44. > :02:49.my school is off on strike day, the teachers seem to be happier than us

:02:49. > :02:52.lot about it. Ten-year-old Sam is happy because his school ask

:02:52. > :02:56.closing, but he's missing football club.

:02:56. > :02:59.You guys are obviously loving the brand-new website. Thanks for

:02:59. > :03:04.getting in touch. Britain's most famous couple are sharing their

:03:04. > :03:08.love overseas for the first time. Wills and Kate are on their way to

:03:08. > :03:13.Canada as we speak for their first official foreign visit. Over nine

:03:13. > :03:16.days, they'll take part in a dragon boat race and go to a rodeo. It's

:03:16. > :03:21.Kate's first time in Canada, but Wills went there 13 years ago with

:03:21. > :03:26.his dad and little Boro Harry. It was only a few days ago when the

:03:26. > :03:30.Royal pair were at Wimbledon. She may not have any Royal blood in her

:03:30. > :03:38.but she's a Princess in our eyes! Leah is at the All England Club.

:03:38. > :03:42.What is going down? We finally know who is through to the ladies final.

:03:42. > :03:47.Maria Sharapova and Petra Kvitova. It's been a busy day on Centre

:03:48. > :03:56.Court. Former Wimbledon champ, Maria Sharapova was up against

:03:56. > :04:01.Sabine Lisicki from Germany and Sharapova won in two sets. Sabine

:04:01. > :04:07.Lisicki wrote in to the tournament, as a wild card, asking if she could

:04:07. > :04:11.take part. In the end, Sharapova proved too much for her. In the

:04:11. > :04:15.other semi-final, Petra Kvitova made a strong start against

:04:15. > :04:19.Victoria Azarenka. Azarenka fought back but wasn't good enough and won

:04:19. > :04:23.in three sets. Andy Murray isn't in action until tomorrow, but good

:04:23. > :04:31.news for the Brits. Lom Brody made it through to the semi-finals in

:04:31. > :04:35.the boys singles. -- Liam Brody. He's been training with Djokovic. -

:04:35. > :04:38.- Broady. All the finals are going to be played in cinemas in 3D

:04:38. > :04:47.across the country. Are you ready? I am!

:04:47. > :04:51.I am. From Wimbledon to the Scottish seas where a swarm of

:04:51. > :04:54.jellyfish have shut down a power station. They got stuck in the

:04:54. > :04:58.filters after they floated in towards the station ats to

:04:58. > :05:02.necessary. Workers decided it was safer to turn off the power until

:05:02. > :05:06.the swarm was cleared. It's not often you can say a new country is

:05:06. > :05:10.about to be created. But, next week, that is what is happening in

:05:10. > :05:13.Africa's biggest nation, Sudan. It's hoped that splitting the

:05:13. > :05:17.country in two, making a new country called South Sudan, will

:05:17. > :05:22.help end years of fighting. Recently, people living near the

:05:22. > :05:27.border have been caught up in terrible violence.

:05:27. > :05:32.This is all that remains of one of the villages caught up in fighting

:05:32. > :05:36.near the border between north and south Sudan.

:05:36. > :05:41.After a 21-year Civil War, south Sudan is finally gaining

:05:41. > :05:46.independence to become its own country on the 9th July.

:05:46. > :05:54.Tensions are still rising between the north and those who support the

:05:54. > :05:57.south. Some of the worst violence is happening in a place called

:05:57. > :06:02.South Kordofan. It's hard to find out exactly what is happening, as

:06:02. > :06:05.the area's been pretty much cut off by the military. But aid workers

:06:05. > :06:08.who've been in Sudan say there have been daily bomb attacked by

:06:08. > :06:12.Government forces from the north and people live in constant fear.

:06:12. > :06:18.As a result, tens of thousands of people are on the move trying to

:06:18. > :06:23.escape the fighting. We estimate that about 70,000

:06:23. > :06:27.people have moved into the mountain range, the very, very isolated area

:06:27. > :06:31.which is difficult to access at the best of times. Right now, the

:06:31. > :06:36.international community are being hindered on doing so by the armies

:06:36. > :06:40.involved in the fighting. International leaders like US

:06:40. > :06:43.President, Barack Obama, are calling for a ceasefire. Talks are

:06:44. > :06:48.happening in Ethiopia to try and stop the violence.

:06:48. > :06:54.Nobody knows whether these will work.

:06:54. > :06:59.Now then, remember the name - Matthew Raymond-Barker? Probably

:06:59. > :07:04.the most famous Brit in France. The 21-year-old from London's just won

:07:04. > :07:07.the French version of The X Factor, he did have a go in the UK but only

:07:07. > :07:11.made it to boot camp. So, while he was studying in the city of

:07:11. > :07:16.Toulouse, hi entered the French show and hit the jackpot. The thing

:07:16. > :07:20.is, he really isn't sure why the French were such big fans. Maybe

:07:20. > :07:26.because I brought a more English/American style to it like a

:07:26. > :07:32.lot of people like. I really don't have any idea why I won.

:07:32. > :07:37.Neither am I to be honest. I've had some seriously hairy house mates,

:07:37. > :07:40.Pete, Kez, you know I'm talking about you, but this one takes my

:07:40. > :07:45.biscuit. Digit the gorilla has been adopted by zoo keepers in France

:07:45. > :07:49.who took her in after she was rejected by her real mum. The
