:00:08. > :00:14.Leah here with your Wednesday headlines, including more good news

:00:15. > :00:19.And driverless cars are coming to the UK.

:00:20. > :00:27.First, if you've got a long road trip in the family car

:00:28. > :00:32.this summer, imagine if it was in a car that drives itself.

:00:33. > :00:35.As early as January next year driverless cars will be tested on UK

:00:36. > :00:49.It looks like any other car but as the vehicle pulse away this driver

:00:50. > :00:53.takes his hands off the wheel. Right now it's driving itself with the

:00:54. > :00:57.help of some hi-tech gadgets like this GPS system guiding its

:00:58. > :01:00.movements. The Government announced this morning that driverless cars

:01:01. > :01:05.will soon be a reality on British roads. So lots of experiments like

:01:06. > :01:12.this one are happening across the country on special test tracks. The

:01:13. > :01:17.BBC's technology correspondent, Rory Cellan-Jones, was able to test one

:01:18. > :01:20.out. This car is being tested in a controlled environment but from next

:01:21. > :01:24.year more advance vehicles with lots of sensors on board will be allowed

:01:25. > :01:28.out on to the open road. Then we will see how the great British

:01:29. > :01:31.public reacts to the idea of driverless cars.

:01:32. > :01:35.In America, driverless cars have already been tested on roads in

:01:36. > :01:39.California but some people are cautious about seeing them on the

:01:40. > :01:44.open road here in this country. We are not going to suddenly see all

:01:45. > :01:50.the vehicles coming on to the road driverless. You will see high levels

:01:51. > :01:55.of automatication and a small number of cars that can be driven safely

:01:56. > :01:59.without a driver. This project is looking at how self-driving cars

:02:00. > :02:03.might learn to communicate with each other for safety. But over the

:02:04. > :02:06.coming months scientists will need to work very hard to make sure

:02:07. > :02:31.driverless cars have a future on British roads.

:02:32. > :02:33.To the Commonwealth Games and some breaking news

:02:34. > :02:36.of what should be a one-two-three for the home nations, as England's

:02:37. > :02:39.Max Whitlock is about to win his second gold medal of the games,

:02:40. > :02:44.This was Max's routine on the parallel bars just an hour ago.

:02:45. > :02:46.Dan Keatings of Scotland and England's Nile Wilson are battling

:02:47. > :02:50.But Glasgow's not just about the sport.

:02:51. > :02:52.Scotland's biggest city has plenty more to offer.

:02:53. > :03:04.Today I am going to be showing you around the city. This is the

:03:05. > :03:08.amadillo. Different artists come, when I was younger I did dancing

:03:09. > :03:13.displays here. So, Martin, what I love about the

:03:14. > :03:17.centre... Beth, I am here! I knew that. Right, come on, let's go.

:03:18. > :03:22.I love this place so much because there's so much to do and see. The

:03:23. > :03:26.activities are really fun and enjoyable and really exciting. We

:03:27. > :03:34.are always learning. It looks as if you are learning how to build DNA.

:03:35. > :03:40.Yeah, done. Let's go. Beth, where are we now? We are in an art gallery

:03:41. > :03:45.in Glasgow. There's loads of ditch stuff to see, including loads of

:03:46. > :03:47.animals and even a Spitfire. Every time I come there's something new I

:03:48. > :03:51.haven't seen before. Do you think all these animals come to life when

:03:52. > :03:59.it gets dark? Definitely. I think so, as well.

:04:00. > :04:05.Here is Fossil Drove. Wow, what is it? It's a collection of fossils,

:04:06. > :04:10.hundreds of millions of years old. It's cool. Thanks for taking me.

:04:11. > :04:14.You're welcome. OK, Martin, I hope you enjoyed my

:04:15. > :04:19.favourite spots in Glasgow as much as I did. I did, thanks, I had fun.

:04:20. > :04:30.OK, I am sure you know your way home. Beth, Beth! Great job, Beth.

:04:31. > :04:32.Last up, fist pump, chest bump, handshake, high-five.

:04:33. > :04:34.What's your favourite way of greeting your mates?

:04:35. > :04:37.Scientists have told us that shaking hands is the most unhygenic way

:04:38. > :04:40.So we want your videos of weird and wacky greetings!

:04:41. > :04:43.Send us your clips and we'll pull the most imaginative

:04:44. > :04:48.together in a fun-filled extravaganza later this week.

:04:49. > :04:51.And you'd better make sure you're watching tomorrow morning

:04:52. > :04:55.because Ayshah is going on the hunt for these badboys -
