:00:00. > :00:00.Hello there, Ricky here live in the Newsround studio
:00:00. > :00:13.We bring you the birds that could teach drones to fly.
:00:14. > :00:26.And can your dog really understand what you're saying?
:00:27. > :00:28.But first, have you ever wondered how birds manage to fly,
:00:29. > :00:34.Well a team of scientists in the US created a special
:00:35. > :00:43.BBC Science reporter Victoria Gill went to see it.
:00:44. > :00:49.Scientists have a lot to learn from this little lovebird.
:00:50. > :00:52.How such tiny birds fly smoothly through gusty air
:00:53. > :01:00.So scientists at Stanford University have built this.
:01:01. > :01:08.We worked for four years to design this and build this.
:01:09. > :01:12.It was put together specifically to study how birds fly.
:01:13. > :01:15.We can use the best possible techniques.
:01:16. > :01:19.Those techniques include cameras that film in extreme slow motion,
:01:20. > :01:24.capturing tiny wing adjustments that keep the birds steady in the wind.
:01:25. > :01:26.It is the latest ambitious experiment in a lab here
:01:27. > :01:32.in California that is dedicated to unravelling the secrets of flight.
:01:33. > :01:34.Diana works with these birds every day.
:01:35. > :01:37.She uses clicker training and food rewards so they will fly to wherever
:01:38. > :01:46.The ultimate aim is the design of tiny flying robots like these.
:01:47. > :01:49.By copying what birds do, engineers can build much smaller,
:01:50. > :01:53.steadier robots that they could then send out after a disaster to search
:01:54. > :01:58.So these scientists will aim to create robotic copies
:01:59. > :02:04.of what nature has perfected over millions of years.
:02:05. > :02:06.Next, air pollution in cities hasn't improved enough
:02:07. > :02:12.A new report by the Royal Geographical society says
:02:13. > :02:15.pollution caused by cars, buses and lorries makes the air
:02:16. > :02:19.in some cities bad enough it could make some people ill.
:02:20. > :02:22.The government says its trying to reduce air pollution,
:02:23. > :02:25.but experts say more needs to be done to encourage people
:02:26. > :02:32.Now, to the farm in Cornwall that's selling some of their animals.
:02:33. > :02:35.Only the farmer isn't selling sheep or cows,
:02:36. > :02:42.More than 10 years ago these camels were brought
:02:43. > :02:48.Since then the heard has got bigger and bigger now farmer Christopher
:02:49. > :02:56.needs to find some of them a new home.
:02:57. > :03:02.They love people. It's always a pleasure to be with the camels
:03:03. > :03:04.because they are very social animals.
:03:05. > :03:07.They're pulling in the crowds at this farm, but I don't think any
:03:08. > :03:11.of their parents are ready to give them a home just yet.
:03:12. > :03:19.I'm living in a flat in Bournemouth, they are a bit too big for the
:03:20. > :03:22.balcony. No, they are too smelly. As lovely as they are, no.
:03:23. > :03:24.So if you're seriously thinking about getting a camel well here's
:03:25. > :03:28.They're desert animals, so they need somewhere dry
:03:29. > :03:32.They like company, so you might need to get more than one!
:03:33. > :03:35.Make sure you've got good fencing, because they can eat their way
:03:36. > :03:38.And don't forget a camel isn't just for Christmas,
:03:39. > :03:42.you need to be committed as these animals can live for up to 40 years.
:03:43. > :03:45.So if you've got between ?3,000 and ?8,000 in the bank - then
:03:46. > :03:55.Now the next time you dig out your pencil case,
:03:56. > :03:57.you might think a bit differently about one of these.
:03:58. > :04:00.This man in Taiwan in east Asia can create tiny
:04:01. > :04:03.It takes him hours to carves these intricate designs.
:04:04. > :04:07.Here's one he made of the Eiffel Tower.
:04:08. > :04:10.Lee Chien-Chu has to use a magnifying glass so he can
:04:11. > :04:15.Ever wondered if your dog can really understand what you're saying?
:04:16. > :04:18.Researchers from Eotvos Lorand University in Hungary have
:04:19. > :04:24.Using a machine which measures brain waves and doesn't hurt the dogs,
:04:25. > :04:27.called an MRI scanner, they found canines can recognise
:04:28. > :04:31.certain words and even tell the difference between how the words
:04:32. > :04:46.A restaurant in Sydney, Australia cooked up the creations.
:04:47. > :04:54.There's also veggie options and it got lots of fans excited,
:04:55. > :05:00.That's all from me, Newsround's back right here tomorrow with Leah.
