:00:13. > :00:14.Morning, guys, Ricky here with your Wednesday Newsround.

:00:15. > :00:19.It was the start of the new series last night and the first time

:00:20. > :00:22.the show has been on Channel 4 rather than the BBC.

:00:23. > :00:25.So did it rise to the challenge or did it fall a bit flat?

:00:26. > :00:47.Looks are deceiving, aren't they? My hands are shaking so much. OK,

:00:48. > :00:51.bakers, your time is up. I really liked the first episode because it

:00:52. > :00:57.has loads of creative ideas in it and I loved the new people. I liked

:00:58. > :01:04.Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood and I am glad that Paul Hollywood stayed

:01:05. > :01:07.but I still miss Mary Berry. I thought the first episode was better

:01:08. > :01:13.than the old episodes. They made better cakes and the funny bit was

:01:14. > :01:20.when one of the bakers forgot to put the oven on and put their cake and

:01:21. > :01:24.so it would not be. I liked this CD is better because Mary Berry is not

:01:25. > :01:29.in it and I don't like Mary Berry. The new judges are different because

:01:30. > :01:36.they are softer. Mayberry Cox a lot more and get what advice, the person

:01:37. > :01:39.I was impressed by was the old lady and their in the last challenge, she

:01:40. > :01:48.made it what Mel and that looked perfect. I really enjoyed watching

:01:49. > :01:53.the first episode of Bake Off and I will definitely keep watching to see

:01:54. > :01:57.what happens next. I did not think it was that much different, the only

:01:58. > :02:04.thing different to it was the presenters and the judges. It was a

:02:05. > :02:11.very good episode and I liked the actual bakers. I will carry on with

:02:12. > :02:20.bake off but I want to do as much as I used it I don't think. You only

:02:21. > :02:21.have five minutes left. I miss Mel and Sue!

:02:22. > :02:24.And we want to know what you think of the new Bake off,

:02:25. > :02:28.is it better worse or just the same - go online to have your say now.

:02:29. > :02:31.Next up, President Trump has arrived in Texas to praise the way

:02:32. > :02:33.the rescue services are helping people affected by floods there.

:02:34. > :02:36.Since Storm Harvey hit the big city of Houston they've had

:02:37. > :02:43.twice as much rain as falls in London in a whole year!

:02:44. > :02:45.Rescuers in boats and helicopters have been bringing thousands

:02:46. > :02:48.of people to safety but loads of roads, hospitals, and schools

:02:49. > :03:01.An epic and historic, these are words to use to describe this

:03:02. > :03:05.monster known as Harvey but the job you have done is special and I say

:03:06. > :03:11.lets fly over and CDs great people in the near centre, we appreciate it

:03:12. > :03:14.very much. Billions of people appreciate it, but the world is

:03:15. > :03:15.watching as the world is very impressed with what doing.

:03:16. > :03:18.The tallest bridge in the UK has opened to traffic

:03:19. > :03:21.Cars and lorries honked their horns as they drove

:03:22. > :03:23.onto the Queensferry bridge near Edinburgh.

:03:24. > :03:26.It's part of a series of tests though, as the bridge won't be

:03:27. > :03:32.officially opened by the Queen until Monday.

:03:33. > :03:34.All summer, people have been taking part in Pride festivals,

:03:35. > :03:36.which celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual and

:03:37. > :03:40.It's 50 years since it was made legal for men to be gay

:03:41. > :03:42.in England and Wales, and attitudes then

:03:43. > :03:45.Newsround viewer Megan went to one of Britain's biggest Pride

:03:46. > :04:01.I have come up to Manchester for the very first time this weekend to

:04:02. > :04:06.visit Pride Festival. Although most people are here to celebrate and

:04:07. > :04:10.have a great time I have come from different reason. My uncle Andrew

:04:11. > :04:14.took part one of the very first Pride rallies and I want to find out

:04:15. > :04:20.what his life was like back then. What was it like for you back then

:04:21. > :04:25.when you first came out? It was in one way very lonely, because I only

:04:26. > :04:32.knew one person who was gay and I was already 25. People hid

:04:33. > :04:37.themselves, you did not know. How did you feel coming out in society

:04:38. > :04:42.when it was not legalised? Most of us who wanted to read or many lives

:04:43. > :04:47.were aware that we might end up in prison. Over a thousand of us per

:04:48. > :04:54.year were being sent to prison. Did anyone see anything nasty to you? I

:04:55. > :04:59.was refused a job once. When they found out. They did not find out, I

:05:00. > :05:02.told them I was gay. And one existing member of the staff said I

:05:03. > :05:07.will not work in the same office as somebody who is gay. And they

:05:08. > :05:15.withdrew the offer of a job. Have people's attitudes towards being gay

:05:16. > :05:20.in the LGBT community changed? Yes, they have, it depends where you are.

:05:21. > :05:24.They have not changed if you are in many countries around the world but

:05:25. > :05:31.they have changed, Britain has done very well. What advice would you

:05:32. > :05:37.give to people coming out now? I would say there is a warm and

:05:38. > :05:44.welcoming world out here for you as you come out. I had never really had

:05:45. > :05:48.my uncle talk about his life before, it was really lovely for me to get

:05:49. > :05:53.to know all of his experiences and what he has been through. I am so

:05:54. > :06:00.proud of everything he has done. Thank you. You can find out more

:06:01. > :06:03.about the history of gay rights over on newsround online. That's all from

:06:04. > :06:07.# Dibby, dibby, dibby, dibby, dibby, dibby

:06:08. > :06:09.# Dibby, dibby, dibby, dibby, dibby, dibby sound
